The ScoutCast – Episode 199 – Buttons

Jonty knows just what buttons to press.

When he slyly accuses me of adopting the template midfield, I’m visibly rattled. Leaping to defend myself, Jonty claims victory in this bout of Fantasy manager mind games and may have forced me into a hasty transfer I will come to regret.

Andy and Luke watch on, but it’s not long before they earn our attention, having pressed significant buttons of their own – both are post-Wildcard.

We analyse their Gameweeks, move to recite tales from the community and then take on another round of your questions, which finds us looking into yet another player relationship theory that will have Roberto Firmino owners rather concerned.

This episode of the ScoutCast was first beamed live via our YouTube channel on Tuesday night. Be sure to subscribe to get notice of future live episodes.

You can grab the old fashioned mp3 audio version via this link or the first player below, or watch me get riled via the Google Hangout version in the second player.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

It's a pretty valid question actually.
Snodgrass is playing great, on set pieces.
Hull at home and Chelsea are leaking goals of late (7 in last 3 games!)

yes, Snodgrass is a much better player than Capoue, and Chelsea really cannot defend at the moment. So in all honesty i think Snodgrass is a better option

Lukaku / Sanchez / Aguero would be my order of preference.
Lukaku may be overlooked a little but I think Everton will get back on track this weekend. If I didnt have Ibra I would captain him despite the early ko.

I see the Ibra equation like this. Most would have bought at 11.5 and watched him rise to 11.9 whilst taking his eary season points. You then had a choice to sell at 11.7 and bank his 0.2 increase (which I did) or you held only because of the Stoke game as you saw him as a nailed on cap that week. Basically it's 0.2 longer term value vs short term points against Stoke. In a season of big hitters I think the 0.2 will be between rewarded in the end.

    1. Parm

Thanks chief, i'd rather take his double hat-trick points though.

    2. Netley Lucas

I guess it all depends on his output going forward. If he goes big v STO and others blank we may see a big problem emerge as people try to get him back but need several transfers to do it.

    3. Cheeseoid
      • Fantasy Football Scout Member

It is also the use of a transfer which has a value as well

I sold him because I didn't think he was worth 11.7m in short term. Under no illusions that if he delivers on Sunday he'll shoot back up in price

Cheers TM, on closer inspection it seems that he is averaging a high bps but not enough to actually get the points, and the two players ahead of him (Barkley and Barry) outscored him as a one off in terms of bps for the weeks they got their 3pts

    Puncheon / Cazorla / Lukaku

I like the look of this as a potential triple transfer after the international break. Bar injuries and Ibra & Payet blanking this weekend, then it becomes a mindfield...

If Lukaku bags a brace this weekend (and I think he will) he will give me a headache. Him or Ibra needs to go, but I feel Ibra will prove more consistent over the rest of the season. But I need to decide whether the points differce may be worth the price difference....It's a tough one?

        Who would you captain nips?
I've been on Sanchez all week but now I'm very tempted with Lukaku. Do we think Everton could cut loose against Palace?
Could do with a Pardew Telegraph story just before the game...

So close. Guess early in the season so 'safe?' is Sanchez as many more serious players will do that this weekend.
Personally i think Lukaku will score more but its having the balls to back it!

Yes the only justification I can think of against Sanchez is that Burnley are pretty good at home and don't concede much. Not sure they can stifle an in form Arsenal though who on their day can score 4 past anyone

      nice..if only Williams is Coleman.

gtg, next GW I'd consider downgrading Williams to fund Antonio->Wally if the WHU player continues to be sacrificed at RB

actually I'm really happy with Williams. I think he could turn out to be great value for 5.0 which is a difficult price point in defenders this year. I've seen from highlights he's been very close to scoring a couple of times. But yes I am 0.2 short of Antonio>Wally but that's not a given for me. I may downgrade to Snoddy and do double Arsenal defence instead

Yeah Williams is a nice player to have but it'll always be case of adding only a few more $$ to get Baines/Coleman, just like what Belle/Kos did to Monreal and Cresswell to Reid.

Same here, Snoddy is the next player for me to target after Wally. Would give me a chance to land an ARS defender finally too

Lovren, Wiliams, Antonio & Rashford...I would be a little worried about those four but looks a well balanced team. GL

Should I play Mcauley ahead of Walker
Other 2 defenders I am playing are Bellerin, Valencia.
    Any thoughts ?

Morning. Bit of a longer term question. Decided that Ibra will prob become Defoe next week.
Get my strikers back to Expensive/Mid Price/ Kinda-cheap.

For this team (2FT next week)-
    Ozil/Antonio/Capoue/ Sterling (Fletcher)
    Aguero Ibra Lukaku

    A. Ibra and Fletcher to Defoe and Mane
B Ibra and Capoue to Defoe and Mane
C Ibra, Ozil and Capoue to Defoe, Sanchez and Lallana (-4)

Sorry if complex to read. Basically
A gives Mane and Capoue back to 5th,
B gets Mane and Fletcher to 5th plus cash,
C is -4 gets Ozil to Sanchez but Lallana not Mane

Thanks for any input. Will try to answer questions in return now
