Stock Check – Gameweek 12 – Monday

An emphatic display by West Brom urges Fantasy managers re-assess the potential of a pair of their attacking assets while basking in the comfort of a belated clean sheet. Here’s the Stock Check following Gameweek 12’s concluding fixture…

Matt Phillips
Fantasy managers started the evening lamenting the absence of Nacer Chadli through injury but, on the evidence of recent performances, Phillip’s could well supersede him as the key target in the West Brom midfield.

His goal and assist returns this evening earned him back-to-back double figure returns and took him to two goals and four assists in his last seven Premier League starts.

Priced at 5.1 to Chadli’s 6.4, the former QPR winger looks to have the advantage as a fourth/fifth midfield option. Indeed, even when fit, Chadli’s starting role now looks to be a puzzle given West Brom’s current form.

Salomon Rondon
The Venezuelan has produced a string of impressive performances without returns as the Baggies’ lone striker but, tonight’s goal and assist brought his drought to an end.

Priced at 6.5, the Baggies frontman looks an option in this form, although on Chadli’s return, he will likely relinquish spot-kick duties which dents his appeal – along with the potential offered by Phillips.

Nonetheless, with Hull City, Watford and Swansea City in his next four Gameweeks, Rondon may tempt some short-term investors seeking a differential.

The West Brom Defence
With a combined ownership of 50%, many FPL managers benefited from a first Baggies clean sheet since Gameweek 3.

That’s a surprising statistic given the emphasis on defence by Tony Pulis. Sitting back and allowing Burnley to come onto them, tonight’s approach was typical of a West Brom side who prioritise defensive stability.

Gareth McAuley remains our weapon of choice – a menacing presence at set-pieces that warrants the extra outlay for the aforementioned fixtures. But Chris Brunt demands to be monitored and, once we can be sure of his prolonged starting role, he arguably presents even greater potential for attacking returns.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

I think I might go Hull hunting & bring in Rondon for Lukaku this week. Will leave me with 3.5itb & this team: I'm not sure though as I think Lukaku is still a good option & his next 3 fixtures aren't that bad.

    Foster
    Alonso, Fuchs, Holebas
    Hazard, Coutinho (c), Firmino, Capoue
    Aguero (vc), Costa, Rondon

    Jaku, Amat, Pieters, Allen

    (a) Do the Rondon trade or
    (b) keep Lukaku & save ft

    Thoughts & thanks

please help guys, after the dizzy heights of my 100 week Joe
Allen captain inspired Haul I've fallen 350k and got just 20 points this week. My lowest score in ten years of playing!

already used my free transfer to bomb lukaku and now got this

    Heaton (Pickford)
    Mustafi, Holebas, Fuchs (Kelly, Kingsley)
Sanchez (c), Hazard, Firmino, Allen (Fletcher)
    Aguero, Austin, Anichebe

A whopping 5.2 in the bank

    A. leave with no hits, play Fletcher as Allen suspended
    B. Allen for Coutinho
    C. Allen for Mane, everybody else has Phil in my mini league, nobody has Mane.
    D. Allen for Ozil
    E. Allen for someone else, who?

Thanks! I still can't believe that game week...

    Pickford Jaku
    Kosc Stones McAuely Pieters Amat
    Alexis Hazard Coutinho Gundogan Capoue
    Kun Lukaku Austin

    1FT 0.8 bank
No idea what to do. I'm leaning towards saving to see how Lukaku, Kun , Gundogan and Alexis do

I would save. You can get a pretty decent 11 out this weekend. Even Amat started again which improves your bench.

Some think Lukaku is due a goal but Saints are strong at the back. It'll be interesting

Some people think Saints Everton could be 0-0 but isn't that generous towards Everton given their lack of cleanies?

Do people think Lukaku is due a goal? Has he been playing well and getting chances?

Who to bench from these three:

        A - Amat (CRY)
        B - Williams (sou)
        C - Pieters (wat)

Who to bench from these two:

Morning guys. Three consecutive red arrows 🙁 What would you do with this lot to turn the ship around:

              Foster
              Alonso, Walker, Evans
              Coutinho, Hazard, Sanchez, Capoue
              Aguero, Lukaku, Austin

subs: Heaton --- Amat, Pieters, Allen --- 1 FT, 0.0 ITB

              A) Save FT
              B) Allen -> Phillips
              C) Sanchez & Lukaku -> Firmino & Costa (-4)

                League goals scored in 2016:

                - Defoe (18)
                - Kane (18)
                - Vardy (11)
                - Rooney (7)
                - Sturridge (6)

The one man not in the England squad

Always rated Defoe, even in a crap team he's still banging them in...so he should also bang them in for England.
