Paddy Says – Gameweek 27

Time once again to open the door to Paddy’s house, wipe our feet on his mat o’welcome and wander down the corridor until we come to a room known only as ‘Anytime Goalscorer and Clean Sheet odds’.

And before we take a second to reflect on why anyone – even a bookmaker – would choose such a name for a room, let’s take a look at the Enhanced Offers available to new customers signing up this weekend.

Liverpool have won just once in their last seven league matches, while this weekend’s visitors to Anfield, Arsenal, have lost two of their last three and got badly Bayerned in Munich not so long ago to boot.

So unless they stagger to a draw, somebody’s going to have to remember what victory tastes like, and Paddy’s got some major odds in both flavours.

If it’s a home win you want, then you can get 10-1 on the Reds to beat Arsenal.

And if or some reason you don’t think that’s generous enough, then even you can’t fail to be impressed by the borderline insane 16-1 you can get on the Gunners to prevail.

Back on more stable odds grounds, Chelsea are 7-1 to beat West Ham, although they’ll have to break a run of two straight away draws to do it, Manchester United are 6-1 to beat Bournemouth at Old Trafford and Man City are at the same price to win at Sunderland.

Enhanced winnings are credited in free bets. Be sure to check the terms and conditions that apply on all those offers and, of course, we should state that all these specials are only available to those aged 18 or over. If you’re going to wager, please always gamble responsibly.

I’ve got a piece of card with Romelu Lukaku’s name on it, so congratulations to him for winning this week’s captaincy poll.

Wait.

No.

It’s Sergio Aguero. He won.

It could only be him, what with those tasty double fixtures and his nearly 300,000 new owners.

He won the poll by a landslide and Paddy’s 1.44 on him to score at Sunderland tomorrow is one of the shortest prices we’ve seen in a while.

Two of the also-rans in the poll – Zlatan Ibrahimovic (1.61) and Harry Kane (1.83) – aren’t priced much more attractively, although Diego Costa at 2.00 has some merit.

He broke a three-match run without a goal against Swansea last week and faces a West Ham outfit that, while unbeaten in three, have kept just the one clean sheet in nine matches.

Interest in Costa’s team-mate Pedro is on the up – he’s in the top five for transfers-in this week after scoring in back-to-back matches. You can get a chunky 3.00 on him making it three in a row.

Even more popular than Pedro has been Southampton’s Manolo Gabbiadini who, until a late rush to acquire Aguero and Raheem Sterling, was the Gameweek’s most purchased player.

The Italian has five goals from his first three starts for the Saints and Paddy are offering 3.25 on him continuing his run away at Watford.

On the downside, will Southampton be suffering an EFL Cup hangover after coming so close to Wembley glory? On the upside, the Hornets have kept just one clean sheet since Gameweek 9.

If you’re inclining towards that downside, then Troy Deeney (four goals from his last five starts) looks generously priced at 3.60.

And if you fancy a proper punt, you can get 8.50 on West Brom’s Gareth McAuley scoring for the third week in a row when the Baggies entertain Crystal Palace.

Something is rotten in the state of Bournemouth, who haven’t won since Gameweek 19 and will struggle to reverse that trend at Old Trafford today.

They have, however, only been blanked twice in that run, so it’s no surprise that Antonio Valencia is the only Man United defender to make it into the top 30 for transfers-in this week. The Red Devils’ impending Gameweek 28 blank will have much to do with that as United are the shortest-priced team (1.72) to keep a clean sheet this week.

Leicester City versus Hull City at the King Power could reap richer rewards.

The champions’ new Shakespearean age started with a bang against Liverpool, although the quality of the Merseysiders was decidedly strained.

Only Jamie Vardy has troubled the top 30 for new buys among Leicester players, but the 2.29 on them blanking Hull – without an away goal from their last three trips – suggests Paddy has faith in their defenders.

The Tigers, meanwhile, shut out both Man United and Liverpool recently, so the 4.33 you can get on them repeating the trick at Leicester looks interesting.

Fantasy interest in Hull players seems to have stalled this week, however, with precisely zero of them in the top 30 for transfers-in despite the allure of a Gameweek 28 fixture to come.

Cant believe how many in my ML have destroyed their team with 3-5 HITS for this DGW. I resisted the temptation and only took 1
