The ScoutCast – Episode 219 – Evicted

Expelled and evicted from the Scout Hut, the show must go on as I host this week’s Cast from the in-laws, their best china providing the backdrop to our Fantasy Football chatterings.

While building work gets underway back home, we consider the reconstruction required on our line-ups ahead of Gameweek 30 following the cruel injury to Seamus Coleman.

Assessment of the likely replacements dominates the opening section, before we embark on another round of community questions, as we scan Manchester United’s packed schedule, flirt with Leicester City assets and vote on when to move for Alexis Sanchez.

Transfer hits also bookend this episode, as we begin the show with a conservative approach to the weekend, only to end with talk of eight points aplenty.

This ScoutCast was first beamed live via our YouTube channel on Tuesday night. Be sure to subscribe to get notice of future live episodes.

If you’re a traditional type, you can acquire the mp3 audio version via this link or the first player below, or take in the full visual experience, plates and all, via the second player below.

Met Gomez this evening whilst dropping of my brother to Heathrow. He looked tired who Watford got on the weekend?

Very split ideology on here about the benefits of a WC sooner rather than later.

My team isn't in great shape, and I'm starting to think that a WC this week to sort things out will have more benefits than pursuing the GW36 WC then GW37 BB. I'd say an early WC could potentially yield 100+ points over the rest of the season, whereas the 36/37 strategy mean she probably 5-6 additional DGW'ers.

Also allows me a 37 TC, which I quite fancy.

    Thoughts??

I've considered it this week too, but decided not to on the basis that I'd prefer to keep my options open until we get the other DGWs confirmed. I did well last season with careful planning around the DGWs with WC and BB. How many players would you change? I'm on about nine or so.

I'm probably going to spend -8 this week to make up for not playing the WC though!

      Heaton, Pickford
      Alonso, Coleman, Baines, McAuley, Amat
      Mané, Alli, Coutinho, Antonio, Carroll
      Aguero, Lukaku, Llorente

Worth taking a -16 hit over the span of 2 game weeks (-8 x2)?

GW30: Coutinho, brunt, Evans -> Alli, Valencia, Ben Davies
GW31: Aguero, Lanzini, Baines -> Ibra, Sanchez, Boro/£4.4m def

I have Coutinho, and although his form has been bad he has got Everton (h), with a patched up defence, followed by Bournemouth (h). Surely worth keeping for those two fixtures?

I just don't trust his minutes this week, he has always had managed minutes after every international break. I would be shocked if he got 60mins but with Pool and their current injuries maybe Klopp will hve no choice but to play him full.

I already have Mane so by doing these moves it means I can keep him and Siggy instead of choosing. lanzini was always going to be a short term option, was a Phillips replacement originally!

Fair enough. I hate selling players before good fixtures, but then I haven't done well this season at all so what do I know!

I think you are making too many changes too soon. Spurs will struggle at Burnley. I would keep coutinho for next 2 home matches. An injury hit Everton and a Bournemouth team that concede a hatful. I would be more inclined to bring in Vardy for Aguero

On WC and looking for two 1-3 week punts (with the option to keep longer if they do particularly well). Money not much of an object:

    1) Hazard (injured?)
    2) Eriksen (already own Alli)
    3) Firmino/Coutinho
    4) Sigurdsson
    5) Mata
    6) Walcott
    7) Pedro
    8) Tadic

Head says the sensible options are two from Eriksen, Firmino and Tadic. Gut swings wildly between them all, occasionally settling on Coutinho and Mata... Talk some sense into me!

    1. Elijah's Wood
      • 9 Years
      7 years, 1 month ago

Assuming you have Mane, I would get Erikson and double up.

Pedro for me with Tadic a close 3rd.

Don't trust Mata to get full minutes with their busy schedule.

Siggy is a great option but as you are already on your wildcard you'd want to pre plan your DGW players, either that or go with Siggy, then check out Soton and see how Tadic plays?

      1. No Luck
        • 12 Years

Yeah I have my DGWs planned out so I basically have two/three slots to play around with until they come around. Erik and Tadic sounds good to me. King is even an option just for one week. I want to have them all!

If Snoddy was nailed on to start I would definitely agree. But I'm worried he's bench fodder from next week for sure (and possibly this week) and with Redmond nailed on to start with 2 good home fixtures and 2 doubles to follow and possibly playing OOP this week, I'm very tempted.

      Razmataz any cash in bank?
With Liverpool at home and Everton possibly missing two usual starters in defence I'd consider selling William for spurs defender considering Everton next two matches are Liverpool and United.

Or maybe sell Antonio since injured. An under the radar choice could be ayew as has form last four weeks.

Transfers viper suggested look good.i bought Davies for Coleman myself few minutes ago. That frees up cash to possibly get a decent 4th midfielder and then swap Fletcher to bench. Tadic ayew or alli.... Ah would be able get 1 of them 3.

I've taken hits last 6 weeks and all worked out. Moved up 600k from about 1.5million to 900k. That said the higher up you go the more the hits affect you.
I don't see an 8pt hit as bad I it gets you more points over 2 weeks and sets you up better. Two expected clean sheets for spurs in next two should cover hit as Everton I would expect to concede over both next matches due to injuries and opposition. So then you midfielder you bring in is where you get the extra points...so choosing right one Is key. Ayew alli and tadic should have returns in both sets of upcoming fixtures.

    Ben Davies or Vertonghen?

    I need this defender for gw 30 31 32 and 33.

Davies allows me a nailed on Gibson for dgw 34 but I'd have to settle for Chambers/Fabio if I pick Vert.

Is Davies safe until gw 33? I'm sure he'll play the next 3.

    Tadic.

Is his recent output down to the introduction of Gabby, therefore not a great option whilst the latter is out?

    RMT

Any obvious changes required? Currently on a -4

    Pickford - (jaku)
    Azpi - valencia - bertrand - (fabio) - (love)
    Alli - eriksen - mane - siggy - (carroll)
    Aguero - lukaku - vardy

    Thanks!

Thoughts on this set of transfers for -8? Might not work out, but has high potential I think.

Coleman --> Stephens / Britos [still need to decide]
    Antonio --> Sánchez
    Aguero --> Vardy

    Heaton, Pickford
    Alonso, *Coleman, Baines, McAuley, Amat
    Mané, Alli, Coutinho, *Antonio, Carroll
    *Aguero, Lukaku, Llorente

    A) Coleman to Davies
    B) Antonio to Alli
    C) both for -4

    Gives me

    Foster
    Alonso Davies Pieters (Brunt/PVA)
    Mane Siggy Sané Alli(King)
    Llorente Lukaku Costa

Probably should play King as well if only making one transfer

    Yay or Nay ?

I'm definitely keeping him for the next two fixtures, personally.

Nope, Burnley is a tough fixture.

Yes no brainer since you have Mane

Alli on pens and taking the goalscoring burden from kane. HIgh ownership and great fixtures.

All the boxes tick nicely to do Coutinho --> Alli. 😉

I've did him to Alli and I already had Eriksen. Next 2 Liverpool fixtures look good for goals so maybe not the best idea

    2FTs £3.4m ITB

Coleman to Valencia enough for this week and have 2FTs next week?

    Pickford
    Olsson Pieters Holebas
    Eriksen Mane King Siggy
    Kaku Llorente Kun

    Grant Capoue McAuley Coleman

Probably yes. I have a similar team with Antonio instead of King, and am therefore going for a more aggressive -8 to get Sánchez in. But Valencia in looks sensible to me.

    Coutinho - > Alli - 4?

Can't see Coutinho playing more than 60 but for some reason I can picture him scoring

Wouldn't do a hit for Alli away at Burnley

Alli has no regard for the difficulty of a fixture as I've found out the hard way this season

Lads, rank these three in order of who you'd rather own between now and the end of the season

    A) Alli
    B) mane
    C) siggy

I think ABC but really don't know

A TOT milf 1st, Siggy is an enabler as well as productive so it's tricky? The 2m makes such a difference etc.

ACB - even without DGWs, Siggy has excellent GW37 and GW38 fixtures.

    Bump

Was going to save a trade this week but what about Morrison>JWP? Would play him and bench Zaha and he's had 6 Shots on target last 4 games. Could get Redmond or Tadic but 5m very tempting
