Dugout Discussion

Dugout Discussion – Wednesday

The extended Gameweek 34 continues with a big night that delivers three hugely anticipated matches.

There could barely be more Fantasy interest across the trio of encounters, with a scattering of key assets in action.

Firstly, Middlesbrough’s Alvaro Negredo, signed by 201,000 and backed by an improbable 155,000 (3.5%), will bid to improve on a dismal 2-point return from his first fixture when he faces Sunderland at the Riverside Stadium. A crunch encounter for both teams, there will also be keen interest in the Boro defence with Ben Gibson signed by 118,000+ ahead of Saturday’s deadline.

Crystal Palace’s Christian Benteke was undoubtedly the weekend’s star performer with a brace at Anfield to provide his 506,000+ ownership with a 12-point return. Backed by 96,000 (2.1%) with the armband, he will look to build on that return in tonight’s encounter with Spurs.

But the title-challenging visitors will boast their own cast of key figures, with Harry Kane, Dele Alli and Christian Eriksen supported by an army of Fantasy owners. Kane is himself backed by 244,000 with the GW34 captaincy.

Finally, at the Emirates Stadium, Arsenal will host Leicester City as they bid to revive their top four ambitions having navigated to the FA Cup Final at the weekend.

The big news from north London is that Alexis Sanchez may just be restored to the central striker role, with both Danny Welbeck and Olivier Giroud benched – Theo Walcott comes in and could also be a contender for that position if Wenger retains the 3-4-2-1 system.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Who else is a Pva and valencia owner?

Pva Should play given the congestion of fixtures? I know from when Sam was at the hammers though that he rarely rotates when the team is in good form? Schlupp must be playing well enough to keep his place?

Depending on the rest of your team, but: Considering Blind/Bailly, Daniels and Gabriel. Leaning towards Daniels.

That's actually pretty good, but there is a big difference between Costa, Rashford and Jesus.

Only Costa is nailed from those three, and you can't have Costa or Jesus and the rest of this team unless you have a really high TV.

Choose one for next GW (WC 36).

    a) Gabbi (vs Hull) -4
    b) Benteke (vs Bur) -4
    c) Sane (vs Boro) -4
    d) Siggy vs ManU

      Here...

I'm really worried about Spurs in general. Some of their latest victories were really down to the wire and they have a few tough games coming up. I have a feeling if they lose the title mathematically they will stop caring.

That's probably what I would do as well, since having triple Spurs in attack seems too risky at the moment.

I think Everton v Chelsea 2pm kick off may have some impact here, there is a chance Chelsea lose/draw that match if Lukaku comes out firing on all cylinders, if they do drop points, Spurs will want to take the opportunity when the match kicks off against Arsenal at 4.30.

Regardless, it's a derby and Spurs have the chance to assert their dominance over Arsenal, i have Alli, Eriksen and Kane & will be fielding all 3, no doubt.

    Gooooooooooooooooooood morning!

    Not the greatest DGW but...

Joel Ward only scored 1 less than Alonso
Negredo equalled the great Harry Kane and doubled Lukaku's score!

WC back-line, unfortunately I cannot get everyone a I would like. Thinking on cashing in on Alonso

    Which do you prefer

    a) Cech
    Vert-Alonso**-Gabriel**-Benalouane-Stephens

    or

    b) Cech
    Vert-Monreal**-PVA**-Benalounane-Stehenpes

Benalouane won't play if Morgan does.
Otherwise A, but Gabriel a risk.
Alonso's fixtures, attacking threat, league still to win make him near essential I think.

      No Wildcard, for GW36...

      A) Zaha, Benteke > Hazard, Costa, Capoue

I can't afford Hazard and Jesus, and would rather have the more nailed Haz. But, there aren't many strikers available for the money I have (6.2m), might be able squeeze out a few extra 0.1s by downgrading Bertrand. I have Gabbi; Zaha and Carroll are my 4th and 5th mids.

Feel that Sanchez is a blank this week, Spurs so good at the back - surely they won't bottle it?

Considering Sanchez+Son out to Hazard+Sane. Wildcard in GW36 though so the hit needs to pay off this week. Too risky?

Looking at this GW36 WC currently. Not sold on Koscielny (already own Cech) and Stones (nailed/injury free?). Suggestions? 0.2ITB. Might debate Sane vs. Eriksen too, but Manchester City's run is very easy (and great double). Any obvious mistakes?

        Cech - Pickford
        Alonso - Azpilicueta - Koscielny? - Stones? - Yoshida
Sanchez - Hazard - Alli - Sane - Ward Prowse
        Kane - Gabbiadini - Anichebe

        Anichebe bench 36 and 38.

        1. MTPockets
            7 years, 12 days ago

Not sure about 2x ars defence.
Ideally have more mci attack, but appreciate the risk.
Realise Anichebe's an enabler but stil not keen.
Undecided between JWP/Albrighton, but guess you have as 3rd sou.

Article outlining some rotation risks (e.g Stones): http://www.fantasyfootballscout.co.uk/2017/04/26/double-game-week-rotation-part-1/

Thanks. Yes, I will most likely find someone else than Koscielny.

Anichebe is an enabler and saves me a LOT of money. No other options in that price range really, which means I'll probably have to drop one of Sanchez/Hazard/Kane.

Albrighton a much bigger rotation risk (and one less DGW).

Will certainly monitor Manchester City in their next matches. Not sure if I will even risk getting Sane with Jesus injury free. So much doubt.

Buy Hazard or Coutinho this week?

(Forget long term, I'm on wc next week)

            In a similar predicament.

Coutinho has the better fixture (plus MNF), but Hazard is in really good form.

            Tough!

On paper it's Cout for me just down to fixture really as I think Everton will be tough for Chelsea/Hazard, Cout enables an AOA too esp when I've Amat/Valencia/Bavies/Gibson this week (Yoshi).

Any chance of Sane being rested for this?

Would love TCarroll's 10 points off the bench. He did play the full 120 at the weekend.

With Silva a doubt and Jesus not ready, don't think so. Weekend could be a problem though.

I think Jesus will get minutes, but not from the start. Forgot Silva was a doubt... Sterling could come in for Sane though if Silva is okay. They still have Nolito somewhere too. But that is probably more of an issue for the weekend as you say. They will play their strongest team here, surely.

Sanchez as TC in DGW36 is starting to look less appealing.
May use my TC in DGW37 with ten other strong doublers.
          Save BB for GW38.
          No WC.

Courtois & Smith or Boruc & Kompany?

Eriksen or Hazard from 36 onwards? Fixtures suit Chelsea better but that 1.6m could be useful elsewhere

            Hazard for me

I do want to fit Eriksen and Alli in somewhere though - I've even thought about shipping Sanchez!! (won't happen of course)

            Both.

            Or Hazard + Alli.

I want to see if Spurs are still in the title race first.

Good point. I'll be making the moves next week but my transfer this week sort of dictates or rules out some of my options so I'm struggling a bit

If in doubt go with the cheapest option, isn't that a motto used by some?

Who scores more pts till the end of season?
Alli or Eriksen... think I keep Alli because against Arsenal he will have more pts 🙂

I'm really good at getting marginally over the average score, and red arrowing everywhere still

Kun, Lukaku and Son -> Kane, Costa and Sané (-8)
          Y/N?
