Also, the point of featuring it was to get across the point that the decision was not made by FPL. We wanted to communicate the role played by Opta and Match Centre in the awarding of the goal. » Read

The fact that Evans original effort may or may not have been on target is not a factor."On target" is only a factor for own goals. Where the own goal is only given to the defender if the original effort is deemed off target. With the McAuley goal, he got the final touch on the original header therefore it's his goal. There doesn't need to be evidence of whether the orginal header is on target. It's not relevant. That's always been the case with goal awards. These days it's addressed immediately, previously it took days for the dubious panel to judge and come to these conclusions on tough calls. The piece on the show was to highlight that McAuley got the touch. However, by pointing out that the Evan's effort may have been off target underlines that the touch was not insignificant. Not really relevant, but a point of interest for those who wrote it off as a "skim off his hairline". It was much more than that - not that it matters - a minor touch, like Lukaku's on Bolasie's cro… » Read

Yes - the Scout stuff comes from us. We're hired to provide articles and input on social with surgeries as required and on request. Just as we have been for previous seasons - about five seasons in total now.The big difference, as we all know, is that the Premier League are doing far more and have gone big on social - go figure -, creating separate accounts for FPL on Twitter, FB etc.As mentioned that steered not by me or FFS but a separate agency that's been running the Premier League account for a couple of seasons and still does. » Read

I've not said that, I've just said unlikely and yeah, those who formerly held licences - and FFS did pay and have a license - for the fixtures do still get bulletins updating them I believe. » Read

If City or Southampton/United had a plan in place, I believe the Premier League would have announced the pre-arrangement as they do with other fixtures like the confirmation of the Leicester replay date I mention above. » Read

See below. I think Pep has been misinformed. Unless there's been a whole load of prep work done which the Premier League have kept quiet. Normally this stuff takes a lot of planning and the fixture changes or even possible fixture changes are announced in advance. » Read
