The data used in the article was Opta's official xG data distributed to countless media sources. Why do you state it wasn't "ready for public consumption"? Can I have an apology for that false accusation because we'd never present the data if that was the case. The data wasn't broken or false in any way whatsoever. It was fact that the Huddersfield defence looked far stronger statistically than Palace's and in fact, United had six big chances to Spurs' two. Lukaku had two to Kane's one. Statistics can't legislate for Lukaku rolling the ball past the post with just the keeper to beat or Kane striking one in from 25 yards after beating two defenders. Both of which occurred. » Read

Yep, that's what I meant by the widget on the top ten under and overachievers - so you can see, at a glance, on the opening screen of the members area. » Read

Discussion of xG values will be fine within reason. As always, it will down to our discretion. A post listing an entire set of data will likely be removed, a discussion around one or two figures all fine. It will be case by case. » Read

I'm not sure what I can give you. I simply read the news, as does Paul, and we decide what we include in the articles. There's nothing complex about it, there are no rules at play. If Paul finds something he thinks is of interest, we discuss it and decide how to include it. Things like the Morata limping in press area thing, we would never tweet that unless we were more certain on sources or saw multiple sources. So we didn't. We added it in an article instead where we've more characters to give our views on it and balance it out, which we did. Here's what we said... "However, there could be potential concerns in the Chelsea camp based on this report this morning suggesting that the striker was seen limping in front of press after last night’s tie. The piece admits that no issue was reported during the player’s own interviews, so we can only await news from Antonio Conte on Friday." So we used the term "suggesting" and stated that the piece admitted that there were no inju… » Read

Dunno. We can speculate that Chelsea asked him to remove or, more likely perhaps, the player thought better of it and realised himself it was a bad idea. It was there though. Bit odd - the player himself should be pretty informed on the current prognosis you'd think. The issue, however, is do we even know that the player is posting on his on account. » Read

I'm confused. The policy is simple enough - if there's something newsworthy and the source is reputable, we will tweet it. There's no agenda at play. Morata issued an update, it was news, we tweeted it. The player then backtracked. I've now deleted our tweet mentioning Palace. Not sure how that reflects on FFS - we just reported what the player originally posted. What policy do you imagine there is in place? Do you, or anyone else really believe that we attempt to weaken the integrity of the game through our editorial policy? Everything we say, every opinion we give, can be construed as that if you see fit - you can do that if you like. But to really believe it, you'd be questioning my own honesty and integrity. That's something I find deeply upsetting. I bloody love the game and I'm invested in making it better, not affect it for my own gain. » Read

Yep, just felt that Huddersfield would provide more resistance than this. Should have gone with heart over head after all and stopped thinking. I guess we see what Lukaku does or even if he plays - I'm told the Dawson tweet on him being a doubt will be correct. » Read

Aye, it's such a tough one and a decision that will likely curse us all season. In this case I had to go beyond just pure gut feeling and look closer at the numbers. If you read Captain Sensible, you'll see why. There's no way I can make a decision on Tuesday and not be liable to change my mind - I think about things too much over those days! » Read
