New Match Stat Maps Now in Members Section

In addition to recently publishing the first set of Pre-Season Player Projections, we’ve also rolled out a selection of new stat maps in the Members Area.

Currently these are available via the Match Dashboard, allowing you to view events such as Goal Attempts, Chances Created, Crosses, Passes, Tackles, Clearances and Blocks in any given match. You can also filter these by any player in the match to get a view of his performance for any of the stats in question.

We’ve got more stat maps to add to the selection, most notably a touches heatmap. Before that, however, we’ll be adding these new stat maps to the Player Profiles and Compare Tool to allow the analysis of the maps over a range of Gameweeks.

  Personally I'm not too fussed about him at this stage. Anyone can score in a friendly, they mean nothing. He's never played in the prem, I'd say he's a massive gamble at the start.

Not convinced by the ddg/frderici combo. United may start off leaky at the back with vidic just returning and ddg may not play due to the olympics and may struggle to get back in if lindegaard plays well, and frderici may become a whipping boy even during his opening double.

going to plan my whole team around the first 3-5 GWs with special attention to the DGW. After 6 years of doing this I have learned that most of the planning involved in creating a team is wasted as the team always looks totally different by GW5 than when it was first set up.

Plan….

GW1 – just get a team out where all the players will play. double up on chelsea for DGW

GW2 – hold my nerve while others shit there pants and play there WC

GW3 – Laugh at everyone who did there WC as the team they ditched just outscored the new team

GW4 – Observe the form and notice the season creme rising to the top

GW5 – Play my WC

        Double game week keeper that rotates well with WHAM keeper. Big Sam never concedes goals!
        
        Koscielny scores, Coloccine in a good newcastle defense, Ivanovic for the double, Hangeland scores all the time and Clichy for Man City defense.
        
        Double gameweek mid´s for Chelsea, because I will never trust in Torres again. Kagawa might still be changes if he falls out in Man Utd. Gerrard will do well, you will see. Silva is Silva.
        
        The three strikers are the main strikers for their teams. I meano, not Petric, but he is having a great pre-season. Lambert has great stats - people that gambled on Holt did reasonably well last year.

  Not a fan of that midfield, love the rest though.
  For 0.5 more you can get Sinclair with penalties and a known prospect over Michu, Yaya isn't really good in FPL with a full squad, although I understand the temptation. Personally don't like Noble but that is just me.

    Well...Yaya was very effective at the end of last season. More than any other City mid. But you may be right - I won't be expecting 10 pointers week in week out from Yaya.

    I dunno. That seems to be the consensus on here, but he scored recently and despite his 'withdrawn' role, he stills breaks into the box fairly regularly. He's on literally all set pieces whilst Mata is away too. Personally I also think he's more assured of starts for the first few games under RDM.

      i still like lamps chances, but i could go ramires->pienaar OR torres->jelly based on which becomes more appealing. good to have options!

        Ramires is a great prospect, imo. Looks to have nailed down the right-winger spot and he'll get loads of chances at simple tap-ins (ala Studge) thanks to all the hard work done by Hazard & Marin on the other side.

    There's definitely doubt there, I agree. But I think Tevez has to be favourite to start the season, and his first 3 games include 2 home bankers. If he fails in GW1 then the above GW2 transfer is the way I'd go. If he scores big, then perhaps Lamps & Torres -> Pienaar & Rooney...

  what is the general thought on tevez starting for man city these days.. surely he has a better chance of starting then ballotelli... surely tevex is just as good an option as aguero?

    Pretty mixed opinions around here. Personally, I think he's favourite to start the season up front with Aguero, but if he underperforms then Balotelli will get starts. The one good thing is he has a great GW1 fixture, and then the likes of Ade (if at spurs), Jelavic & Bent are easy swaps if he doesn't start/fails.

  Is having both aguero and tevez counterproductive (stealing points from each other)?
  
  You will need a high score and both to be involved for this to be successful. Given fixtures this is clearly possible but even still, I would prefer to cover more bases.
