The ScoutCast – Episode Eighty Five – Kolarluv

Aleks Kolarov is a legend around these parts. Two seasons ago I backed the Serbian to shine, only to be left eggy faced as he City man huffed and puffed without impact. Now he’s back and this time it’s personal.

Having crashed the party with a 20-point haul in his last Etihad encounter, Kolarov is being lined up for a start this weekend and even Granville’s taking notice. Having ridiculed my affections for the player and gloried in his failings, the Mancunian has got himself a crush and he’s struggling to fight it off.

This week’s ScoutCast features a lot of Kolarlove, along with the supporting cast of regulars as Granville steals a mini-league march and starts to sound cocky.

Listen in on the Serbian swooning via this link, or stream the episode via the handy player below…

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Anyone can tell me what's the hype on Ba? Next up is WBA who are decent team so far and next up is Liverpool. Sure liverpool are rocky but still a decent opponent. Is ba that amazing?!

I agree with your scepticism, but he does have a knack for scoring no matter what the opposition. I opted not to have him for now based on the logic underlying your question, but he scares me because he really can come up with goals wherever.

My take is he's just simply one of the most dangerous strikers around and is Newcastle's main threat...and he's pretty much involved in every goal they've scored so far. Plus he's got a good run of home fixtures...I really see him scoring a good few over the next 4.

Nice fixtures for Gorkss! 8 points so far this term, but I guess thats what 3.9m buys you... Id suppose Williamson is unlikely to start with Taylor and Collocini fit? Would be a good option otherwise

Yeah Gorkss has the best fixtures of the cheap defenders, they might get 1 clean sheet during that good run. Williamson might now be first choice, but it's a big risk bringing him in.

If you are not going to play him go with Mccartney he is cheaper and he is playing. will save you .3 over demel. Of course they both have terrible fixtures in the near future. If u need someone for your last spot on the bench go with the cheaper option.

What I am fielding this weekend, no other choice really,
    Begovic
    Ivan Hughes Baines
    Gerv Mata Michu Sterling
    Tevez RVP(c) Lambert

Subs Clyne, Demel, Pienaar, 2.2 in the bank. Thoughts on team and next week transfer suggestions welcome. Cheers.

Begovic is good for this week.
Baines and Hughes have good chances for keeping a clean sheet this week. Ivanovic is OK as he may get some attacking returns.
      Midfield is fine.
Forwards are brilliant imo as I can see all of them scoring.

    Need some help guys,

Playing this team this week so far:

    bego (foster)
    rafael baines santon (cuellar demel)
michu HBA morrison santi C (sterling)
    tevez rvp berba

Two FTs and 1.3 in the bank. Any recomendations for xfers? Tempted to do morrison -> lennon and save one, could also do a couple different combinations to get in bale?

    Thanks guys

Two FTs but I think you may as well JUST use the one as your team for this week looks good, and your suggestion of a transfer looks decent.

If you wanted Bale badly enough I would downgrade Rafael as United's fixtures are not great.

I'm considering bringing Morrison in haha. His form is decent, he's nailed on and has some decent fixtures on the horizon.

Lennon (from past experience) is a frustrating player to own. Think Bale is a much much better option if you're after Spurs ATT coverage.

Why not Rafeal (Utd struggling for cleanies & bad fixtures) > Cheapie & Michu>Bale? Just a suggestion anyway

Good morning from Bangkok. It's Friday! Yeah!!!

Demel ruled out. Sagna could be back. That will leave me to Baines - Wilson - Jenkinson/Gorkss.
I'm pretty a bit confident with Reading and hope Gorkss to score if Jenks is dropped.

Btw, Lawro predicted united to be more defensive and result in 0-1 for Sunday big match Che v Mun. I hope he's wrong and it will be a goal fest.. 🙂

Yeh, as it's for Bale, I'd say it's completely justified. Bale is the one player who I really feel I'm missing right now.

A Santi fail this week and I will be tempted to ship him for Bale

Thanks all, confirms my instinct to play Michu and therefore bench Sterling (although he may still come into play if Fellaini is still out).

Pretty gutted about Gibbs. Brought him in on the back of the fixtures he had coming up, and he's missing the most juicy ones.

I have already used up my 1FT (Suarez>Ba) and was all set today to remove the Guthrie problem from my team with a 4pter (Guthrie>Walters/Morrison). Is it now more essential to replace Gibbs?

    Foster (Fed)
    Baines Hang Gibbs**
    Haz Santi Sterling Guthrie*
    RVP Ba Lambert

    Bench: McCartney Cuellar Pienaar**

So basically if I stick to the original plan and ship Guthrie for Walters/Morrison (play McCartney) then my team is looking a lot stronger in the long run and for next GW. But I'll be holding on to a player who's injured and will no doubt lose value, plus with him being an Arsenal player, it could be a year before he plays again.

    a) Guth>Morrison
    b) Guth>Walters
    c) Gibbs>Wilson
    d) Gibbs>Simpson
    e) Another suggestion

No need for a hit. Cuellar can start this week (SUN offer little going forward so have to keep it tight at the back to stay in games, plus . Guthrie should start also, and Fulham aren't great defensively away from home.

In short, I'd leave it this week and do Guthrie -> Taarabt next week.

*plus Stoke aren't that high scoring a team. Wouldn't be surprised if that one ended 0-0

Thanks for the advice, although I'm comfortable with a hit. Guthrie is a waste of time (as you are aware I'm sure), I already have my cheap benchie in Sterling. Just feel it's time to upgrade him. Sick of the sight of him to be honest

Yeah, he's stinking out my team too. I just think a hit this week will only be profitable if the player you bring in scores, and I'd say Walters and Morrison are less than 50% of doing that. I really want Taarabt next week also, and would do Guthrie -> him if I had anything in the bank!

Good luck though, and of your options, I'd go Guth -> Morrison. Don't fancy much from Walters unless Stoke get a pen (which of course he could miss!)

Very very good team from front to back. I like that! Cuellar and Hughes might not return much...in fact i'd start McCartney over one of them, if Wigan have an off day could be a CS.

      Quality team mate.

Cheers. I did think about McCartney, but as I'm playing Jaask in goal I kinda cover WHU if they keep it tight at Wigan. That said, I don't have a great deal of hope in Hughes or Cuellar keeping a cleanie either!

Looks good. I like that your captaining Bale. There's been a lot of Ba love but I kinda think West Brom are going to be tough to break down, I don't see a lot of goals. Or at least that's what I'm telling myself as I don't have him...

Same here, I can see a 1-0, 2-0 or 2-1 NEW win, but I think Ba will be involved in their goal(s).

As for Spurs, they are playing the worst defence in the league so it 'could' be a goal fest, and Bale could score big. A lot of could's...

I would definitely do it, and if you are tight for cash do it tonight. But if FISO is any indicator, he is unlikely to rise before tomorrow: at 9:30 UK time he needed to double his day's NTI by 3:00 am to rise.

I read he is homesick and wants to play every game. All fairly standard stuff really. Don't think it's a big problem.

The lad has just got to realise that he is playing for one of the best clubs in the world and that he is very young......He will get his chance to be permanent number 1 once he has developed a bit more
