The ScoutCast – Episode Eighty Five – Kolarluv

Aleks Kolarov is a legend around these parts. Two seasons ago I backed the Serbian to shine, only to be left eggy faced as he City man huffed and puffed without impact. Now he’s back and this time it’s personal.

Having crashed the party with a 20-point haul in his last Etihad encounter, Kolarov is being lined up for a start this weekend and even Granville’s taking notice. Having ridiculed my affections for the player and gloried in his failings, the Mancunian has got himself a crush and he’s struggling to fight it off.

This week’s ScoutCast features a lot of Kolarlove, along with the supporting cast of regulars as Granville steals a mini-league march and starts to sound cocky.

Listen in on the Serbian swooning via this link, or stream the episode via the handy player below…

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

It all literally comes down to this

    A) The flair: Oscar, Kolarov and Ba

    B) The boring: Mata, Huth/Shawx and Crouch.

    Long run. Not this week.

Is anyone clued up with price can I wait on the Suarez>Ba transfer till tomorrow ? He is on 94 percent, was planning on doing it tonight, but would prefer to play safe and wait for the team news.

im in the same boat. BA will likely rise tonight. fiso aint 100 per cent accurate so you cant rely on it transfer by transfer. he is v close to going up so best not to risk it if money is tight.

So on the back of the discussion about Norwich's defence. This looks to me like the expected line-up:

    Martin (4.4) Bassong (4.5) Turner (4.2)/Barnett(4.0) Garrido (4.5)

Ideally it'd be Turner or Barnett but they seem to be most susceptible to rotating that centre back spot. They did just sign Turner so Hughton would probably like to play him. Likewise with Bassong...although he didn't play the last game...anyone know why?

Martin at 4.4 looks like the cheapest nailed on defender at the moment. Would be nice if one of Turner/Barnett were to appear to be nailed on as it would be even more of a bargain.

I already have Gorkss...and Southampton literally look like they haven't got a CS in them this season! 😀

Norwich have kept 2 CS and when not getting hammered by a bigger team have looked quite tidy at the back. You'd only play their defender in those easier games for them so I see them as a good option potentially over your Clynes.

Mate for 4.5 u could afford Wilson Cuellar Hughes any cut price dfendr that plays for a good team
B/w that lot i would say Martin is nailed on the most...
And yes the turner barnet issue will be resolved when u see Turner playing 95% of the games 😉

True...I think it will be Turner...and despite the fact I think he's kind of rubbish at times he actually has goals in him...which is a bonus.

I've got Bego to cover Stoke. I really want to get Cuellar at some point and at the moment I've got Riise for Fulham as the flair pick... 😀

Thanks mate, I have a good feeling about Riise...I might try to hold onto him as my other attacking defender next to Baines. He's got 4 assists already and he's on set pieces and he knows how to shoot. I'm liking the look of him in my team anyway 😀 Delivered me 10 points to start...very happy with that

Like many, I was all set to sell Michu this week, and possibly like a few it was my 1FT to transfer out for Walters. Walters fixtures are surely too good to miss?

It’s a result that I will already get 0.1m extra now, but should I keep being OOP with bad fixtures?

I have them both but because Pienaar is out it looks like I'll be playing both! It's really one of those flip a coin situations. I suppose the Derby might have a few goals so Sterling would be a good choice. Stoke Sunderland could easily be a boring 0-0 draw.

Just go continue where you left of Gaz.

You honestly think the general quality of the top EPL teams can compare to the top UCL teams?

"a selection of top10 EPL: United, City, Chelsea, Arsenal, Spurs, Newcastle, Liverpool, Everton, Fulham, Sunderland

top10 UEFA team coefficient teams (w/o English sides): Barca, Bayern München, Real Madrid, Inter, Atletico Madrid, Porto, Lyon, AC Milan, Valencia, Benfica"

no, I said "it was an honest question". there's a difference 🙂

I think many of these "names" in Europe flatter to deceive.

But all in all, I have a feeling at least two of the English sides will end up relegated, however I wonder if EPL would have a majority in the top half of the table, if in a 20 team league situation. all highly hypothetical of course

You're right. I guess it also comes down to what you use as a general measurement. I'm pretty sure that The top few spots will be Europeans but as you say, overall the top 10 could possibly be made up of mainly EPL.

    Begovic (Jaaskelainen)

    Wilson Hangeland Figueroa (Olsson) (Nelsen)

    Sterling Mata Bale Cazorla (Granero)

    Suarez Ba (c) Podolski

Hey, how does my team look to everyone? I have 3.3 in the bank but no free transfers, I'm thinking either save them up for two weeks then do Suarez, Podolski -> Defoe, RVP or maybe take a 4 point hit after this weekend? Input would be much appreciated :).

I don't think I'd bring him in immediately. Look at getting either him or Rooney in sometime in the next month. I don't think we know if Van Persie is definitely better than Rooney yet, so use the next two or three matches to evaluate the two and figure out how to get one of them in.

I'm jumping ship. I don't like any of the next 7 fixtures except for @ Southampton. It's conceivable that I'll hold for this week to preserve 2 transfers but I don't see any way I hold him after that.

Undecided on captain...currently on Hazard...RVP my vice....but what do folk think about a cheeky punt on Yaya ? I am on 480 points, only 7 behind my league leader...so I have quite a bit of leeway in taking risks at the moment ie I am not playing "catch up".....

Yaya ? 🙂 Home to Swansea afterall....
