Moneyball – Leon Osman

One of the highlighted players in Moneyball was Chad Bradford, who looks nothing like what scouts and fans imagine when they think about a pitcher. When he throws, his hand drops down so low on release that his knuckles literally scrape the floor. That unorthodox appearance meant that teams ignored him despite his impressive underlying numbers, until Billy Beane and his statistical staff looked beyond Bradford’s funky delivery, focused on the process and reaped the rewards. Today, the short, skinny thirty-something Leon Osman is Chad Bradford.

the only thing that screams out to me is kolorov. clichy played alright last week and got an assist. plus isnt he preferred in the CL.

or maybe you could work on your squad and get out davis or clyne.

Cheers. Was thinking pretty much the same bar I am keeping Clyne for bench fodder. I might get Ruddy out for Cerny (3.9) which frees up .6 to be used elsewhere.

Think I may get shut of Kolarov though.

If you take the Ruddy out route, have a look at Tremmel (SWA) over Cerny (only .1 more, will play for 3 or 4 games and may get u some price rises).

Why would it be considered cheating? It's not as if we're all doing fantasically well. In fact, this site can sway judgement and incite punts that are ill-judged.

Hey lads if you brought in Mata for a 4 point hit this week, and potentially only had 2 playing defenders - Saylor, Demel and Cuellar all unlikely to play would you be tempted to wildcard?

Brought in pog and mata for HBA and lambert for 4 points.

Nope. Save it. Just hope Cuellar plays.

0 points for a non-playing defender isn't far off the 1/2 points I normally get for my cheap defenders. With a hit even a cleansheet will only make you 2, and you risk losing -2.

Mata plays next week and your team will look strong. Save WC for another time.

Right, basically all my plans this week revolve around how long is Mata is out for.

Not out at all - keep.
Out this week - tough, considering Young, Valencia, Ramirez, yep and Walcott
Out next week too or beyond - sell for any of the above and possibly take the risk of considering Oscar for a change in role?

He was limping at the end and hanging round the center circle. RDM mentioned today he had a hamstring injury and was very doubtful.

Could be anything, maybe he exerted a cramped muscle or something

Gorkss, better fixtures and long term DGW potential. I am sure I will have more important things to deal with over the coming weeks and know I'll be stuck with who ever I get in for weeks. Nelsen might be dropped?

Oooooh, hundreds of points in that.

I just can't touch a Reading defender for CS, and I don't trust his attacking points. Get Bardsley, he nails both!

If you can afford Bardsley at home to Villa this week, I'd urge you to - the extra 0.5 or whatever it is will be paid off in the long run handsomely IMO, especially with the DGW

      None... I think!

      Foster, Begovic
      Baines, Rafael, Cuellar, Davies, Demel
      Mata, Santi, Bale, Morrison, Guthrie
      RVP, Ba, Berbs

      Demel > Nelsen

and praying Ba or Cuellar make it to the start. I think one of them will.

That said, after a bottle of wine or 2 tonight I may just dump Mata but don't know who for... Tony or Theo?

Hey lads if you brought in Mata for a 4 point hit this week, and potentially only had 2 playing defenders – Saylor, Demel and Cuellar all unlikely to play would you be tempted to wildcard?

Brought in pog and mata for HBA and lambert for 4 points.
