The Big Numbers – Gameweek 10

Another unplayable performance from Marouane Fellaini, ably supported by a string of outstanding Everton displays, lights up this weekend’s Big Numbers analysis, while the likes of Pablo Hernandez, Christian Benteke, Nicky Shorey, Robin Van Persie and Luis Suarez crash the party. Here’s our choice of the key statistics on show in the Gameweek so far…

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Yes, I'm glad to see that McClean and A.Johnson are justifying my pre-season statement that both are seriously overrated.

Thats why PL is the best league in the world, you show up with your showboat, stepovers, and a lot of goals in your first season and the next season you either injured or doing shit on the pitch because they"ll adapt and mark you down ( Aguero, Torres, Siggy, McClean etc )

Silvs's price is 9.3 now and he'll be back very soon. Anyone thinking of dropping one of their top midfield for him? Thinking of doing Bale -> Silva myself. Crazy?

I'll probably keep the Bale-Santi-Mata trio all season long.

Although I will keep a close eye on Silva's performances.

Only way i can get Silva in is through Bale, or downgrade Tevez and Fellaini. Just looks like a nice time to cash in with Silva's starting price of 10. I think i'll probably wait too!

It's a big punt. All three of the players you're losing could score big. Personal preference really. Maybe string it out so it doesn't cost you.

Well you could do Rafael this gw, and the other two next.

Looking at your team it kinda makes sense, but I think I'd drop Suarez or Ba and downgrade Bale. How does that work for ya?

Gotta get rid of Coloccini. Looks like a 4 pointer. Various options:

    A. Hazard Yaya Shawcross Ba
    B. Hazard Yaya Rafael Berbatov
    C. Hazard Fellaini Rafael Ba
    D. Mata Yaya Clichy Ba
    E. Yaya Fellaini Baines Ba

Or any defenders for the same price or less than those in the options given.

The whole spreading the risk thing really doesn't make sense unless you are in some head-to-head league and need consistent returns. I like having players from all teams cause it makes games more interesting, but if you think Huth will outscore Hangeland (random pick) you should of course pick him regardless of how many other stoke defenders you have.

Which one of the following defenders would you play this week. Already used my FT and looking watching the Ba situation closely if I want to take a hit so stuck with these...

Hangeland ars, Cuellar eve, Clyne SWA

The only option I see is Lambert out, and that'll cost 8 points I think. Are you willing to take an 8 point hit? (or wait a week and 4 pts hit?) Even then it'll be tough. I'd downgrade Shawcross > Wilkinson, Michu > Cheapie (after this week) and then what does that leave you?

Yeah, wait a week, but I'd probably still do something like Jussi > McCarthy and/or Shawcross > Wilkinson/Cameron to save up funds. Then next week Michu > Sterling/Maloney/4.5er and Lambert > RVP? Is that affordable?

There are plenty of the sort. Defenders that get a goal/assist or 2 in the opening handful of GW's that are then hailed as 'attacking threats' and are never to be seen again.

Heck I've seen Bardsley's name thrown up as an attacking threat and he is definitely not! Got a flukey run of goals a year or 2 ago, then last year grabbed 2 assists (both of the "FPL dodgy assist" variety).

    Mignolet (Jussi)
    Gibbs Cameron McAuley Baines (Kolarov)
    Santi Mata Michu (Maloney) (Sterling)
    RVP Crouch BA

0.5 in bank. Plan so far is Kolarov -> Evans or Rafael depending on my mood, Rafael might get more points but Evans is cooler. Only problem is who to bench cause I would really want to play Evans/Rafael and also I want to start Maloney, but who gets dropped?

I am so frustrated with my team as there are at least four changes I want to make....

    Begovic
    Clyne Ivanovic Baines
    McAnuff Hazard Michu Cazorla
    RVP Ba Lambert

    Ruddy Sterling Cuellar Hangeland

I want rid of Lambert, Hangeland, probably Ba (as I can't be dealing with this injury doubt) and Clyne

The problem is I would be taking hits.

I am prepared to do one this week and my priority will be Ba > Tevez (will wait on news)

    What do you lot think?

tbf, your worries aren't that big, I mean that Ba would be 4th on my priorities to ditch with Lambert, Hang and Clyne (although Clyne is usually bench fodder)
I guess it depends on his news, if he is out for a week, or not at all which looks possible after his tweet and body language when going off, then I'd be ditching the other 3 first given his form and the fixtures.

      Haz->Mata

Gotta be Davies I feel. Swansea went through a rough patch for a while there but they are looking solid and were honestly unlucky to concede vs Chelsea and City. At 4.0 I think he's the only one that offers decent CS potential and he also takes a few corners every now and then.

At the moment yes, but Koscielny is not far behind should Mertesacker's form drop

He's been our best CB by far this season. Now that Vermaelen doesn't keep bombing forward Mertesacker isn't exposed pace wise. The form Koscielny is in suggest Mert won't be dropped any time soon, but unfortunately Vermaelen is captain and Koscielny is normally a good player so there's always a chance he will be rotated. Sagna only 0.3 extra

I am 0.2 short so can't get Sagna.
I'll get him after the Tottenham game then.
        Cheers.

Pretty sure the only time he was benched was when he was ill anyway.

    Hey folks

I have 1 FT and £0.2m in the bank.

    Foster, Begovic

    Baines, Davies, Demel, Cuellar, Gorkks

    Nolan, Michu, Bale, Valencia, Sterling

    Ba, RVP, Aguero

Thinking of taking Aguero and Nolan out for Suarez and Fellaini?
    -4 though.
    Good idea?

    Thank you!!!
