The Big Numbers – Gameweek 10

Another unplayable performance from Marouane Fellaini, ably supported by a string of outstanding Everton displays, lights up this weekend’s Big Numbers analysis, while the likes of Pablo Hernandez, Christian Benteke, Nicky Shorey, Robin Van Persie and Luis Suarez crash the party. Here’s our choice of the key statistics on show in the Gameweek so far…

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

    Soz for the RT but....

    JussiJ;
    Baines, Rafael, Clyne;
    Mata, Bale, Michu, Pienaar;
    RVP(c), Ba(vc), Berbatov.

    Subs: Mignolet; Maloney, Davies, Hughes.

    1FT, £1.1m in the bank.

    Obviously i’ll wait for news on Mata and Ba, but if all goes well i’ll either do Pienaar to Fellaini or Hughes to Cameron OR both for a hit.

    I could do the Fellaini one now as i’m willing to take a hit this week?

        Looking at the MOtD highlights last night, Fellaini looked like a season keeper. From the highlights it made it look like he just stood in the box all match taking potshots. Pienaar didn't get any screen time. It's made me twitchy. I'd like to hear from someone who watched the game to know what Pie's involvement actually was.

                  I think that what he is trying to say is that the fact that you have complained and thus made the other person change his name, when taken together with many other things about your posts and appearance that suggest casual racism and sexism, mean that he doesn't like you very much, and believes that he is not alone in this.

        I was thinking that, but after a gameweek or two I could bump Suarez or Tevez for a Ba/Berb/Fletch/Jela based on form/fixtures at the time and then beef it up a little. I want Morrisson but .2m short, hence Hernandez.

          Haha, I know it's a paradox. I just mean...he usually performs in spurts...and if he doesn't perform people will sell like mad. If he stays at 9.7+ he's out of reach for me right now...but if he drops to a more respectable price again I'd consider him again...It's all to do with my own team really and how I'm planning it out.

        Taarabt has the potential but has let us down for a year and a half. Cazorla is a fantastic player, but not sure if he can deliver consistent returns like Mata or Bale are in an Arsenal team that looks out of sorts. Would look at trading them out first.

      With fixtures you cant drop HBA, so the only way of raising money is by selling either Baines or one of Bale/Caz. I would sell Bale and bring in Rafael or a Chelsea def if you wanna beef up defence. Or sell Bale/Caz, bring Michu in and upgrade Taarabt or Maloney to someone in the mid range bracket.

      Your midfield is exactly the same as mine bar Mata (I have Hazard) so it's almost like for like.

      I really think you're gambling.
      Michu is on 4 yellows and so is Fellaini.

      Do you get rid of Michu against Southampton??
      If those are the games you drop him, then there's no point having him.

      However, bring in Fellaini for Nolan or Bale for instance and then imagine Michu and Fellaini getting a yellow this weekend.
      2 middies down the next week.

      Just trying to play devils advocate by looking at it like that.
      I'd wait and see on Fellaini. Personally I'd wait for him to pick up that yellow card before I got him.

      I think you will be better off with one mid priced midfielder as there will always be some players in the price range that have form and fixtures. Davies and Nelsen are garbage so your proposed defence will be a bit naff. Guthrie is also a waste of space and will need improving at some point.

      I agree that Baines out is fine though with the next 3 fixtures I think you should hold for now then downgrade to the 5-6m bracket

          One for the Jan wildcard with 110+ team value maybe?

          Last season post January I had a reasonable defence (in theory anyway, it flopped massively) and a front 8 of:

          Mata, Silva, Bale, Dempsey, McClean
          RVP, Aguero, Ba

      I don't know whether now is the right time to do that. I must admit though that my entire FPL masterplan revolves around squeezing Silva into my team at some point. I'm looking at all the methods there are to do so by December. It's probably just wishful thinking on my part but I think he'd be so awesome to have as a differential.

      Also I agree that kind of midfield looks irresistible on paper.

        I think Silva will be as good as any. It's just finding the right way to get him in.
