The Big Numbers – Gameweek 18

Chelsea’s rout of the Villa back four generated some impressive statistics for Rafa Benitez’s men, whilst over the way in West London, Martin Jol’s Fulham are stacking up numbers on the other end of the spectrum. We take a closer look at the team statistics involved, along with a focus on the form of David Silva, Steven Pienaar and Demba Ba as we plunder the members area for the key statistics from Gameweek 18.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Have I been sent to Coventry on this one? 😀

Defence is GJ, Rafael, Cuellar, Shorey and Clyne.

    A) Cuellar > Cameron
    B) Shorey > Hughes
    C) Save it and use it to get some ASNL/WHU in soon.

    Begovic,

I think I'll save. Just looking at the double gameweek and it'll be useful to have two trannies in the bank for next weekend.

Just got a funny feeling there'll be a couple of rotations for Boxing Day. van Persie perhaps?

Perhaps. But then everyone is going to have to cope with a bit of rotation. RVP ain't cheap to get back in, if you want to take him out for a week or two.

I'm coming round to thinking that 2 FTs might be useful next week too, rather than doing something like Cuellar > Cameron.

Hold the transfer this week then swap out Yaya for Cazorla next week. Or . . . Berbatov has 2 decent home fixtures, Berbatov >> Lambert. Major caveat though . . . Berbatov has looked really, really bored recently. Another option w/your 1.9: Begovic >> Gazzinga.

I think there is a bit of a difference there. Reading going to the City were always likely to park the bus but of course they were super resilient. Villa at home... can they really do that? They are gonna have to try and win the game in front of their own fans.

There will surely be some reaction from Villa but i worry Spurs may just pick them off on the break

Swap out Rafael. You could play Mertasacker/Ivanovic/Shawcross every week and expect 1 or 2 CS and some attacking upside with Ivanovic. I think Rafael was SAF's RB by default in the first third of the season; with Smalling and Jones back, I think there will be a fair share of rotation.

i would go for bale this week but it would require a 4pt hit and losing baines home to wigan. think i will hold for a week and pray bale has a quiet one but with a lot of potential threat

bale averages about 8-9 points away from home though... i doubt villa can handle him and if he performs tottenham performs which is good for defoe owners such as myself

pck between 3, 5 and 1. Michu has scored quiet a few braces away from home and readings shockign defence makes that even more of a probability. RVP is mr consistent i reckon 6-9 points against newcastle. Lastly i think mata has scored in his last four away games so he is a good bet and is averaging just over 7 points a game.

I strongly think Shorey will start next game. They just rested him cos I they thought with him or without him, they still would lose at Etihad anyway, so it was the best chance to give him a rest in Christmas time.
