We’re down to the last four now in the Fantasy Football Scout Paddy Power Cup VII now. The next round will take place over Gameweek 22 and will see David Bevan’s “ange1range1” take on Sir Alex Jnr’s “Milehigh” – the former is the clear underdog going into this one; although he’s nestled inside the top 7,000, David’s opponent has moved ominously into 34th place overall after yesterday’s seven fixtures.

Site regular “WildRover” is the early favourite heading into the second semi-final. He has moved up to 439th in the overall rankings ahead of tonight’s three remaining Gameweek 21 fixtures, while his opponent, Mr KK, is just inside the 30,000 mark. With winter wildcards available, however, the form book could easily be turned on its head as our quartet plot for silverware…

Love the way how the return of Ruiz has certainly helped the Fulham playmaker end his 7 GW barren run & playing Wig(H), WHU(H), Nor(A) in the next 5 GW's, I really hope he gets more points

P.S : Just watching MOTD highlights and Berbatov's movement against WBA was hilarious 😀

  cheap and cheerful, most are capable of CS and Davies and Jones may offer attacking threat. I'm looking at something similar myself, though maybe with Dawson or Clyne over Cuellar as I'll be playing Migs every week (it depends on who ends up as my 2nd forward)
  
  The way i see CS and attacking returns from defence have been so unpredictable that unless you invest heavily in someone like Kompany or Cashley (i.e. nailed on in teams that keep CS_ you may as well go cheap and invest the cash up top, that's where the points are

Afternoon lads, Baines and Peanut both doubtful is huge IMO. That being said Newcastle have conceded more headed goals than any team in the PL. whilst only United have scored more headed goals than Everton

my defence would be dirt cheap but my front 8 should be more than capable of catering for it. Also Snod and Punch have decent home/away rotating fixtures after GW 26.....thoughts?

  keepers way too expensive. i'd go de gea and a cheaper one.
  naughton/azpilicueta very risky with rotation. with terry/BAE to come back in new year.
  dzeko rotaton risk aswell.
  also arsenal defense has not got constituent cs in years so wouldnt go with gibbs even with double.
  
  maybe get one expensive nailed on starter eg ivanovic and downgrade the rest.

This time last year, there was an article looking at points hauls for the first half of the season and how. in previous campaigns, those who performed admirably tended not to fare so well in the second half of the season. Likewise, it highlighted certain players "sleeping giants" I'll call them who were earmarked for a fruitful second half of the campaign.

Does anybody have a bookmark to this article to look back at how their tips were and if it had any relevance or not? Maybe a scout can help with that. Similarly, are there any plans for a similar article this year? Could make for an interesting read!! Quite interesting to pick players who haven't performed as well as previous seasons who could suddenly burst in to life ... Valencia and Silva spring to mind for me... Darrent Bent if he were to move away perhaps.

Regarding Baines and Pienaar's possible absence tonight, Baines surely will be covered by his direct replacement Oviedo and Fellaini will step in for Pienaar with a possible reshuffle up front to put Fellaini in the hole of the 4-2-3-1 flanked by Naismith on the right and Anichebe on the left.

Alternatively Fellaini could play on the left as he did against Liverpool with Anichebe continuing as a battering ram in the hole?

    i agree anichebe is the best in the centre, I can't see him having the skillset to play on the wing although I'm confused by reports he played left against Chelsea with pienaar central. Only saw the final third of the game.
    
    I'm pretty sure Osman can't move out of central midfield because there's no one else left there. Apart from Fellaini.

Does anyone think Clint Dempsey has any chance to get a start against QPR? I'll obviously wait until close to the deadline as injuries might make him start, but I have a feeling I really blew it with my Bale+Berbatov -> Dempsey+Defoe transfer for -4 yesterday. Somewhat bailed out by that fluke goal, but terrible move regardless. Booh.
