Back for 2013, fully refreshed, slightly rusty and balancing the same chips on our shoulders, Granville are I make a return to the podcast studio.

The New Year presents my beleaguered co-host with a 51-point gap to bridge as I spent Christmas “ho-ho-ing” about three midfield hat-tricks, leaving Granville to roll out one mighty miffed in this week’s episode.

Elsewhere, we pick at the double Gameweek buffet, eagerly scoffing on the Chelsea canapés whilst wondering if Rafa has hidden something nasty in the vol-a-vents. We rinse that down with the latest transfers in and out in “all aboard”, preview all the weekend fixtures and carry out the latest emergency surgery on the ailing ScoutCast team.

    Apologies for the repost, but it got dropped in the shuffle very quickly.

    Ba’s transfer to Chelsea has proven a bit of a fillip for me this week. Am I better off waiting on my WC for next week (and taking advantage of Turnbull’s double) or is the squad too unbalanced right now, considering the fixtures? And if not WC this week, I am going out on a limb and guessing I need a defender, given my rather woeful situation. So, without further ado, flame away:

    O’Brien (if healthy)-Garrido-Zabaleta
    Cazorla-Yaya-Sterling-Carrick
    Suarez-Ba-RVP

    Begovic-Huth-Puncheon-Nelsen

    Obviously I am going to need to re-shuffle in order not to waste Puncheon’s double, so Carrick might make way in a -4 hit for a better def. Thoughts?

    Excuse my ignorance but I have a question about Chelsea and Rafa etc,

    Rafa is a temporary manager so it seems impossible that he would be allowed to pull the strings for long term transfers and team tactics. If so, who is making the decisions? Who decides whether FF gets a new contract or Fellaini is desired?

      It's the same with a permanent manager. AVB publically stated that transfers like De Bruyne were nothing to do with him. It's Emenalo and other Abramovic yes men that make transfer decisions.

    On a WC and have two options; would be grateful for advice.

    One has Turnbull and is the one I prefer; the other is in case it looks like he might only play against Stoke. What I want to know is if the second one is just better even IF Turnbull is nailed on:

    Looking to get a Chelsea defender for the DGW, surprised there's not been much discussion about Cole.

    He was rested recently so might avoid rotation? Also, Demba Ba is good in the air, perhaps more crosses aimed at him from fullbacks?

    Luiz and Ivanovic have played every game recently so could be up for rotation.
    I don't trust Azpi to hold his place if Terry comes back, although I haven't watched Chelsea recently so may just be because I don't know enough about him.

    I don't have any chelsea coverage yet so feel I need something.

        This is now (not the CD). Pog is fine as a 2 pointer autosub I think. 4.3 is a grand price. 3 Chelsea = 1 eye on the double, 1 eye on longevity. Would love to fit Cazorla in but aside from the Reading game, he is one confusing FPL player. Similar to Hazard I suppose.

        Baines is the one I always forgive.
