The Big Numbers – Gameweek 23

Joe Cole tops our ICT Index for the Gameweek so far, following his equalising goal and eye-catching display in the Hammers’ draw with QPR. With David Silva ranked second and West Brom’s Peter Odemwingie nestled in third, the weekend has seen a number of differentials put in strong statistical shifts.

Our members can, of course, get the full data behind the Index scores via our members area but, as always on a Sunday evening, we’ve compiled our guide to the figures that have turned our heads thus far in Gameweek 23…

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

I keep trying to post something about Suarez, but my choice of diction to describe him won't show up for some reason.

Bale on the backburner - only 2 decent scores in the last 10 weeks.
      Mata in
      Fellaini in
Walcott in but keep an eye on him
Michu in, but if Swansea start to take a swan dive it maybe time to say goodbye

Would you WC this gw or gw25??

    My team for gw24:
    Begovic
    rafael luiz hughes (cueller demel)
    michu walcott fellaini bale (nolan)
    berb rvp podolski

have 1FT and 0.1itb. Luiz and podolski are possible doubts for the game so

    A: luiz + podolski >> baines + benteke (-4)...and use WC in gw25
    B: nolan >> walters..and use WC in gw25
    C: use WC now

Decided. (for now). This is gonna be my team. http://s9.postimage.org/njs56tq27/WC_team2.png

    DDG - 3.9
    Nasty - Dawson - Cameron - Davies - Harte
    Mata - Walcott - Michu - Bale - Punch/Marveux
    RVP - Aguero - Sturridge

Gonna hold off getting Sturridge due to his fixtures (mci ars) though,
and probably get either Fletcher or Fellaini (which one do you reckon?) for a 2 week punt.

Decent enough guys? Need some inputs here. 🙂

    Cheers.

Ill try in shorter, nicer form.......

Why are you all jacking up Sturridge (and to a lesser extent...cough...Suarez) price, so the rest of us who want to logically wait for two more weeks (after um Arse and City away), to bring him or one of them in?

Benteke...Fletcher...Lukaku...Giroud/Podolski...Remy...Berbatov....even Dzeko are probably all going to return more points in the next two weeks.

As will Remy I reckon. Qpr scored 2 against us both times last year, and they are better at the moment (arguably).

Fletcher has banging fixtures and form.
Benteke has banging fixtures and form (but inconsistent).
Dzeko can score in 90mins or 10 mins.
        Lukaku is a beast.
Giroud or Pod should do well over the next two weeks fixtures.

Chicharito and/or Welbeck will even outperform Sturridge you watch!!!

That may be true... There are high probabilities that those players may do better over remaining two weeks. We are early shoppers here in FFS, though, it seems, and are always looking to beat the price jumps, especially with those who we are looking to keep for long haul... Think back to the Hazard feeding frenzy, which I think may have been in full swing during a week that he didn't even have a match the following week.

Thing is though, there are a very small number of people on this board, compared to the whole FPL universe, and we don't have enough power to do much in the way of driving price moves. (I think)

Before I embark on the dangerous journey of constantly changing my forward and midfield combinations, I want to get my defenders right. Does this sound reasonable?

    Mignolet, Federici
Zabaleta, Cameron (Wilson if fit), Demel, Turner, Clyne

Mignolet rotates reasonably with Fed and although I'll play Mig most weeks, I won't hesitate to play Fed
Zab will be nailed on for me with Cameron/Demel rotating perfectly and Turner and Clyne rotating well.

Pretty similar stats there, but sure once you get up to the top 10k it's usually handy enough to float around there

And yeah I don't see anything else apart from the midfield... It's the way forward and I've been sporting it for weeks with rvp and suarez... scumbag defense is playing out well again this season so far but the city/manu/big defs will come into play about now

My TV is 1m less then yours, which makes it impossible to own Azpil AND say Zaba.

Hows my team for GW 24 :

    Jask
    Martin, Naughton, Demel
    Mata, Bale, Lampard, Fellani
    Suarez, RVP, Fletcher

    subs: Walcott, Harte, Davies

I am confused between Lamp and Suarez and will be looking for stats to confirm my benching decision.

So I've narrowed down the options for forwards to the following based on fixtures.

    (A) Hernandez/Welbeck - not guaranteed but should one of them confirm to be nailed on, they could come as a good differential for the next two games.
    (B) Ba - CHE seems to be performing well away games. Ba looks like the main candidate for the transfer.
    (C) Defoe - With Adebayor away at ACoN, Defoe looks set to provide some fantasy points against NOR and WBA away.
    (D) Fletcher - the most tempting forward at 7.0m. Up against SWA at home and RDG away. Fletcher's debut two goals were scored against them, and he might just find another similar form this time.

I like Fletcher best out of those - probably most consistent, more nailed on then A and B, and not bad fixtures. Defoe could be a good shout but no form at all.

there are other options, although they are pricier, but at least they are more explosive and nailed on starter. for example:

A - rvp is the main man, if you can't afford him, get rooney
B - get mata, although ba is a better finisher than torres, but benitez was brought by roman to get the best from torres
      C - bale/lennon is better..defoe has 1 goal in 12 league games
D - currently fletcher is one of the better choices for 3rd striker spot..i have him before, only to to transfer him out prior to this dgw..and now i'm getting him back for my wc 🙁

Remy will score three weeks in a row before they have United at home. In fact, if he scores against us(City) at home, he will surely score against the Rags at home too.

I think I just sold myself on Remy. Two people ahead of me, including the leader have him in already.

Just looking at WC goalkeepers.....and was literally shocked to see DDG has dropped to 5.5m. He looks to have nailed down the number 1 jersey (and even if the worst happens it's an easy switch to Migs/Bego/Scz). Utd have very tasty fixtures coming up and look to be finding a bit of defensive solidity, which will only improve as Vida, Smalling & Jones reach peak fitness.

I think I'm going to take a 2nd punt on DDG this season. Hope it goes better than the 1st time round
