The FFS Paddy Power Cup – Wild Rover Claims Glory

Our congratulations go to Wild Rover after he clinched victory in the Fantasy Football Scout Paddy Power Cup Final last night, following an 87-75 win over Mile High. The double Gameweek 23 proved a fitting backdrop to their head-to-head, with that winning margin ultimately coming down to each player’s choice of Arsenal and West Ham coverage in the final match of the Gameweek at the Emirates on Wednesday evening:

While both finalists handed Theo Walcott the armband and also had Kieran Gibbs and Guy Demel in their ranks, Wild Rover’s midfield proved decisive. Joe Cole and Santi Cazorla both returned double figure hauls, while Mile High received just four points from the Hammers’ Mark Noble, with Jussi Jaaskelainen and Bacary Sagna chipping in with three points apiece at the back. Wild Rover’s five double Gameweek players produced 63 points, then, compared to Mile High’s 51 from six – a 12 point gap which proved the difference between their Gameweek scores, despite our new champion taking a four point hit for the occasion.

The Final

1Wild rover87 – 75MileHigh

Third Place Play-off

2ange1range175 – 94Mr.KK

Wild Rover now joins donnellyc, Jonty, Goonerdave, Ninja_Fit_Saints, sleepingmaster and previous champion Mch in our hall of fame and will now gain automatic qualification to the Fantasy Football Scout Paddy Power Cup from this point on.

Along with the virtual silverware, Wild Rover also receives £100 worth of free bets with Paddy Power and £100 in Amazon vouchers, while Mile High gets his hands on £50 worth of free bets and £50 in Amazon vouchers. Mr KK receives £50 worth of free bets and £25 Amazon vouchers – he saw off ange1range1 94-75 to take third spot.

All our Quarter-Finalists from this year’s Fantasy Football Scout Cup also go into the first FFS Shield tournament, running over the final four Gameweeks of the season where they will face off against the eight Quarter-Finalists from the Members Cup, due to start very soon.

If you’re a member, keep checking back for details on how to get your name in the hat for the qualifying round. If you’re not a member and want the chance to take part, this page will let you know how to upgrade or register a member account.

Providing Dzeko is not in the starting line up, what would you prefer:

    A) Dzeko > Fletcher
    B) Luiz & Dzeko > Dawson & Aguero (4pt hit)

Aguero would be a long term pick but I'm not sure on his upcoming fixtures:

    QPR(A) - Good fixture
    LIV(H) - Tough game
SOT(A) - Southampton have been tight at the back and defending well as a team
    CHE(H) - Tough game.

have decided to play my WC in gw25, so here is my team for gw24:
    Begovic (mannone)
    rafael hughes luiz (demel davies)
    michu walcott fellaini bale (nolan)
    rvp berb podolski

have 1FT and 0.1m….i think my team looks good but no point saving the FT as i WC next gw…so:
A: podolski >> fletcher/benteke/sturridge (just to catch the price rise)
B: nolan >>any mid upto 6.6 i.e. walters (will mean i bench podolski then)
C: luiz >> any def upto 6.6 who might keep a cs this week (not sure if luiz will start)
    D: luiz + podolski >> baines + benteke (-4)

currently leaning on either B or D

    thoughts?

I don't see much wrong with that, other than you will be relying on Liverpool to turn up. If they don't then you will miss out. Sometimes it's better to spread the risk, and Mata is a good alternative.

Are the Zaha to United for 17m and loan back for this season rumors true? Looks a good prospect for United, but paying a lot for him I think.

I guess there will be add ons.

          12m basic,
          2m playing for England,
          1m for a title,
          2m for CL

        wow that is cheeky
like the player, and Everton need more goals so Moyesie might turn to him for it but thats one hell of a risk

Anyone considering Man Utd midfielder for this GW? I have RVP but now I have Hazard problem.
I'm thinking Kagawa. Or should I go for one of the obvious like Silva, Gerrard?

Too risky. Far too much rotation apart from Carrick who just doesn't return anything FPL wise.
Stick to RVP/ Rooney/ Evra/ Rafael for Man Utd cover.

Kagawa will not play every game and he is not looking very sharp nowadays. Get Wallcott, if you already have him then Gerrard.
