The FFS Paddy Power Cup – Wild Rover Claims Glory

Our congratulations go to Wild Rover after he clinched victory in the Fantasy Football Scout Paddy Power Cup Final last night, following an 87-75 win over Mile High. The double Gameweek 23 proved a fitting backdrop to their head-to-head, with that winning margin ultimately coming down to each player’s choice of Arsenal and West Ham coverage in the final match of the Gameweek at the Emirates on Wednesday evening:

While both finalists handed Theo Walcott the armband and also had Kieran Gibbs and Guy Demel in their ranks, Wild Rover’s midfield proved decisive. Joe Cole and Santi Cazorla both returned double figure hauls, while Mile High received just four points from the Hammers’ Mark Noble, with Jussi Jaaskelainen and Bacary Sagna chipping in with three points apiece at the back. Wild Rover’s five double Gameweek players produced 63 points, then, compared to Mile High’s 51 from six – a 12 point gap which proved the difference between their Gameweek scores, despite our new champion taking a four point hit for the occasion.

The Final

1Wild rover87 – 75MileHigh

Third Place Play-off

2ange1range175 – 94Mr.KK

Wild Rover now joins donnellyc, Jonty, Goonerdave, Ninja_Fit_Saints, sleepingmaster and previous champion Mch in our hall of fame and will now gain automatic qualification to the Fantasy Football Scout Paddy Power Cup from this point on.

Along with the virtual silverware, Wild Rover also receives £100 worth of free bets with Paddy Power and £100 in Amazon vouchers, while Mile High gets his hands on £50 worth of free bets and £50 in Amazon vouchers. Mr KK receives £50 worth of free bets and £25 Amazon vouchers – he saw off ange1range1 94-75 to take third spot.

All our Quarter-Finalists from this year’s Fantasy Football Scout Cup also go into the first FFS Shield tournament, running over the final four Gameweeks of the season where they will face off against the eight Quarter-Finalists from the Members Cup, due to start very soon.

If you’re a member, keep checking back for details on how to get your name in the hat for the qualifying round. If you’re not a member and want the chance to take part, this page will let you know how to upgrade or register a member account.

So, Bunn might have to be replaced with Fed.

But that means I can do Clyne > Turner without having to double up on Norwich.

Although Surely Bertrand is worth a punt? Putting him in my starting XI next GW could be inspired.

    A) Aguero & Marveaux

Also need a DEF within 6m bracket (already have Gibbs). My shortlist:

    Clichy

    Phil Jones

What’s the general consensus on Aguero? I see him in lots of team sheets here, but apart from the GW 20+21 he hasn’t done much. Is he worth the price tag? The most succesful FPL teams have 2 mid-bracket strikers + RVP.

Is Rafael worth the coins? Utd seem to concede so much. However this is against the numbers comparing other seasons. Do you think they will pick up or is this seasons data enough reason to stay clear.

If he starts, he is definitely worth it. But I doubt, he'll start every game with Jones and Smalling fit.

How does this look for WC team? I have taken some punts and don't have much TV so this the best I could come up with.

    Mig Fed
Evra Zaba Naughton Davies R. Martin
    Mata Walcott Gerrard Lampard Kebe
    RVP Lambert Remy

Thoughts? Any essential that I don't have? Can I make a better team. And I have 0.2 in the bank.

i still dont rate him and his run will came to end

he has been in great form but liverpool wont play all matches against weak opponents like norwitch

aslo suarez will play deepier with sturridge arriwe

perssonaly i can't see gerrard continue his brillinat form anymore

His points for the last 7 GWs are 9, 17, 7, 7, 10, 5, 9. Not all of them were Norwich. He played Stoke away and United away in these games.

Gerrard is a Liverpool attacker. Well kind of anyway. Lampard is well in form and he is in for the short term and on penos, so I think he is worth a punt. I don't like Bale because he is way too inconsistent. Yes, he explodes in some matches but he also gives you some blanks.

Am I barking up the wrong tree with my WC team - 0 left in ze bank?

    Bego - Bunn
    Azpilicueta - Davies - R Martin - Demel - Clyne
    Bale - Mata - Walcott - Michu - Fellaini
    RVP - Suarez - Pog

What would you do different?.....I'm monitoring Sturridge and Bale!

lose bunn(see below) and jus take a 3.9 keeper - might as well play bego every week.

defence is also a little thin - if azpil is rested &1 of your front 7 doesnt play/is injured u'll be playing up to four 4m def that/those week(s).

If it's any help, I went Fellaini in the end. In the next five games he's got WBA AVL, nor and RDG - none of which seem to like defending right now. And he's due to rise in price soon too 🙂
