The FFS Paddy Power Cup – Wild Rover Claims Glory

Our congratulations go to Wild Rover after he clinched victory in the Fantasy Football Scout Paddy Power Cup Final last night, following an 87-75 win over Mile High. The double Gameweek 23 proved a fitting backdrop to their head-to-head, with that winning margin ultimately coming down to each player’s choice of Arsenal and West Ham coverage in the final match of the Gameweek at the Emirates on Wednesday evening:

While both finalists handed Theo Walcott the armband and also had Kieran Gibbs and Guy Demel in their ranks, Wild Rover’s midfield proved decisive. Joe Cole and Santi Cazorla both returned double figure hauls, while Mile High received just four points from the Hammers’ Mark Noble, with Jussi Jaaskelainen and Bacary Sagna chipping in with three points apiece at the back. Wild Rover’s five double Gameweek players produced 63 points, then, compared to Mile High’s 51 from six – a 12 point gap which proved the difference between their Gameweek scores, despite our new champion taking a four point hit for the occasion.

The Final

1Wild rover87 – 75MileHigh

Third Place Play-off

2ange1range175 – 94Mr.KK

Wild Rover now joins donnellyc, Jonty, Goonerdave, Ninja_Fit_Saints, sleepingmaster and previous champion Mch in our hall of fame and will now gain automatic qualification to the Fantasy Football Scout Paddy Power Cup from this point on.

Along with the virtual silverware, Wild Rover also receives £100 worth of free bets with Paddy Power and £100 in Amazon vouchers, while Mile High gets his hands on £50 worth of free bets and £50 in Amazon vouchers. Mr KK receives £50 worth of free bets and £25 Amazon vouchers – he saw off ange1range1 94-75 to take third spot.

All our Quarter-Finalists from this year’s Fantasy Football Scout Cup also go into the first FFS Shield tournament, running over the final four Gameweeks of the season where they will face off against the eight Quarter-Finalists from the Members Cup, due to start very soon.

If you’re a member, keep checking back for details on how to get your name in the hat for the qualifying round. If you’re not a member and want the chance to take part, this page will let you know how to upgrade or register a member account.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

do i make some moves to upgrade Puncheon to Oscar?

I go for B since you can replace Suarez with Sturidge and Gerrard is more consistent than Bale
Aguero take a penalty as well and Man City is out from europe so Aguero will play every single game in EPL and score.

      Mata.

      1) His form is falling away
      2) He has the misfortune of the worst possible manager
      3) There are unresolved issues within the Chelsea dressing room

Really? Mata's the one I wouldn't have gone for on that list.

Points hauls of 9 and 16 in the last 2 don't indicate a drop off in form, he's been scoring freely despite his manager and despite any issues in the dressing room.

Michu or Fellaini (too close to call between the 2).

With Fellaini his stats in recent weeks speak for themselves while there is the concern with him dropping deeper

With Michu there is the potential distraction of the League Cup Final on 24/02 and how the Swans deal with that.

Newcastle at home could be the game where he goes crazy?

That's the annoying thing about Bale, he can get you 1 point at home to Wigan and then 17 away to Man United. His hauls are unpredictable.

I have Walcott but Cazorla feels like the safer pick imo. Reason being that he's on set pieces, in the hole and isn't reliant on being played OOP. Walcott is currently doing well wherever he's playing though so I could be wrong.

Had Santi for most of the season but brought in Theo for the DGW, its a tough call as they are both hitting but i think keeping both is overkill as i only have Mata, Snod and Noble in my mid. I'm thinking i can't afford to be without one of Michu, Fell, Bale etc

Anyone think Giroud is worth keeping for a bit? Got him in as a dgw punt and planned to get him right back out again. Not so sure now . . .

Has gone missing in the big games which is a shame.

Although Giroud is only 7.8m I'd rather Dzeko/Sturridge/Berbs/Fletcher from that price bracket.

as soon as bale gets a 16pter, most will knee jerk him in.

then he'll go back to his 1pts. I'm keeping Bale for the next two...if he does nothing I'll swap him for Gerrard or Silva. The power 5 is a shifting entity, while the number remains the same the personnel are likely to move.

I'm a power fiver by the way...butting into this thread.

If I had to do without one for the next two weeks it'd be fellaini...but only if I had Baines. I think both is a luxury given their goals have dried up.

i dont think he will go back to his 2pters. before he got injured against fulham he had a run of games of scoring. 3 in a row i think.

he hasnt done much in last few as they were generally tough games.

So after a week of fannying about with my wild card it all comes down to:

    1) Fellaini + Remy

    Or

    2) Piennaar + Fletcher.

    Any suggestions would be appreciated!

    Fellaini/Mata/Walcott/Michu/Kacaniklic
    RvP/Fletcher/Sturridge

    OR

    Szczesny/Bunn
    Davies/Azp/Demel/Clyne/Wilson
