The ScoutCast – Episode Ninety Six – Changes

As we close on a century of episodes it was time to freshen things up and bring new voices to accompany my drone and that of grumpy Granville. In this weeks’ episode, we draft in both “Professor” Chris Atkinson and his “Rate My Team” computer, plus long-time community member and contributor, Jonty, for a new ScoutCast regular.

Don’t worry, the usual format remains intact although, having recorded this just minutes after last night’s whistles, Granville escapes the usual mini-league grilling. Not surprisingly, there’s plenty of “Granny’s miffed” to endure, plus “All Aboard” and the weekend preview. That’s’ rounded off by the “Full Jonty” a brand new feature that will bring you, the community, into our weekly ramblings.

I can do Reina Onuoha instead but that’s no point is it? I don’t know where 0.8m upgrading needs to go anyway.

Do people have a theory as to how Sunderland have achieved 9 clean sheets with a crocket backline and having the 2nd worst defensive record over the season at conceding shots within their box. Its incredible how their record of clean sheets flies in the face of their appalling defensive stats 😕

    No blocked shots don't come up as a major factor according to the stats. I guess its just that outstanding goal keeper

      nah its mostly luck. Happens in football alot. Sometimes a player/team will run way above expectation and people don't really see it for that it is as this is purely a results business. Happened with Newcastle last season.(performed wayyyyyyy above expectation based on their numbers)

        Na I just checked the individual stats for blocked shots. Cuallar is the best then O Shea then Bramble. When compared to players from other teams they don't rate very high.

  They have a good defensive record when conceding shots but Reina must be having an average season because they should be getting more clean sheets. I'd say its a risk to double up on defense. Especially considering they aren't cheap

If I didnt have Michu fo r the dgw, gw 27 would involve me doing, Sturridge to Remy(???) and De Guzman to a midfielder, the gw 28 Vorm to a 3.9(!!!!), and either a hit, or the next week bring Michu back for the midfielder I bought in De Guzman's place. All seems a bit complex, just for michu...
