The ScoutCast – Episode Ninety Seven – Dogging

Better late than never, our ninety seventh episode of the ScoutCast delivers another 45 minutes of mirth, plus injury time.

With the Professor otherwise engaged, it’s left to Jonty to provide backup to myself and Granville, arriving to deliver another “Fully Jonty” – the first to feature a community victim.

Doosra’s Fantasy fortunes come under the microscope, revealing a penchant for bandwagons and knee jerk transfers. Nevertheless, we try to go easy on the experienced campaigner, rounding things off with the extraordinary tale of the Doosra rescuing Jonty’s dog. True story.

That treat rounds off an episode that includes all the usual regulars, including our rinse through the forthcoming double Gameweek which Granville insists on placing within inverted commas: the weirdo.

    RMWT

    Begovich (Bunn)
    Samba Cameron Davies, (Harte, Shaw)
    Michu Mata Gerrard Fellaini Walcott
    Sturridge VP (Anichebe)

Gerrard>Bale next week 0.5 in the bank

Any better cheap options in defense? Preferably nailed on cause I don't like to waste transfers at the back. Any thoughts appreciated...

Cool, I've heard only a bit of Slowdive...the album Souvlaki is pretty good. Do Ride count as shoegaze? I like their stuff a lot. I've heard of Catherine Wheel but never Air Formation. Will give them a listen, cheers.

@Santiagounreal: I can't reply to your last post for some reason, but yes, Ride count as shoegaze. Check out My Vitriol too. They are one of my favourites from my college days. You've probably heard of them though. They ROCK.

Chris, you can't be serious, I loved My Vitriol back in the day! 🙂

I probably even heard them before I heard Loveless or anything shoegazery and thought they'd invented it 😆

I used to listen to one of their albums obsessively. Crazy that you'd bring them up as I doubt there's many people who'd know them too well, I get nostalgic thinking about them actually 🙂

Haha cool! Yeah My Vitriol have dropped off since Finelines, and showed some signs of activity a few years back, but went back into their hiatus, and only now they have announced tour dates, but whether that comes with new tracks or an album is anyone's guess! Finelines was the soundtrack to my college years back in '99-'01!

But you should seriously check out Air Formation's "Daylight Storms" album, it's awesome. Here's the opening track of the album, as a taster: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cluWL5K2IHM

Yeah I fancy Agger to score with a header.
Sorry folks I've been very busy this season but will be back I hope for next season.

Those doing the double week should consider Agger as he came close to scoring with his head in previous matches from free kicks and corners. Normally G. Johnson would be the one to have as Enrique is returning to fitness. Either Gerrard or Suarez for captain as Surridge will not play a full 90 minutes.
Henderson and maybe Downing should also be considered too for an off-chance.
    P. Coutinho is an outside chance of impact along with budget Sterling.
The problem with having a Liverpool defender is not the defenders themselves rather the slight inability of the keeper to keep a clean sheets; though whilst saying that please consider Agger.
In spite of Swansea's poor form of late it might be worth getting Michu but avoid the defenders or keeper from that team. QPR could get a welcome victory over them.

yeh i guess thats quite possible but then swanea did keep out chelsea twice and arsenal so its feasible they'll keep a clean sheet.at qpr atleast whilst davies is an attacking threat too. Besides that I cant evn consider any of the liverpool defence unless I decide to take a hit and remove monreal which will essentially mean an extra hit in future, which will essentially make it unprofitable points wise.
            Good shout though.

Probably gonna have to make a decision on this tonight so any help would be much appreciated. Team at the moment for GW26 (Bank = £0.7m, 0 free transfers):

    Begovic(RDG)
    Azpilicueta(WIG) Davies(QPR/liv) Baines(mun)
    Walcott(sun) Gerrard(WBA/SWA) Bale(NEW) Mata(WIG)
    Van Persie(EVE) Fletcher(ARS) Sturridge(WBA/SWA)

subs - Bunn, Dawson, Harte, Guthrie

    Best option for this week?
    a) Azpilicueta > G.Johnson
    b) Azpilicueta > Enrique
    c) Baines > G.Johnson
    d) Baines > Enrique
    e) RVP > Suarez
    f) Nothing, go with 3 DGWers and avoid the 4 point hit.

I vote C, Johnson for Baines should be an upgrade for both the short and long run. Double gameweek and good fixtures after the blank.

I don't think taking a hit for a defender with a home match with Wigan is probably worth it, unless you think Azpil has lost his place.

RVP for Suarez for a hit sounds crazy. But I actually kinda like it. I just took a hit bringing in Suarez for Aguero...

quite odd that walcott is suggested to have a bad run of fixtures in the watchlist ticker he has great fixtures to come and everton and tottenham hardly park the bus so every match is a gooden.

Walcott at the moment can score against any team though the Everton game will be hard but with his pace the Toffees will be pegged back.

Agger would be the better option not only for his heading ability but he play 90 minutes.

Mata is a fantastic player but not better than Lampard for price in ratio to points. Is Mata on penalties? I rest my case.

I have a dilemma for the upcoming DGW....would you??????????????????????????

A - Stick with this team or
B - Bring in Gerrard or Sturridge or is the 3 i have enough cover.

    Bunn (Mignolet)
    Clichy Davies Enrique (Harte Clyne)
    Michu Walcott Bale Mata (Puncheon)
    RVP Giroud Remy

    Thanks folks.

If you can afford Sturridge for Remy I would pull the trigger. If you have to sacrifice Giroud it'd be a tougher decision. I still think I'd do it though.

Yeah, it's tough. I think Giroud could light up Villa next week. I guess you could probably get him back then though

      Doubt Harry will risk Remy
If he aggravates that injury it could mean relegation

Hi guys, I just wanted a bit of advice on my transfers this week before I pull the trigger.

    Begovic,
    Davies, Rafael, Clichy
    Walcott, Mata, Fellaini, Bale
    van Persie, Aguero, Remy

    Bunn, Puncheon, Pearce, Clyne

    Thoughts on the following:
    Walcott --> Gerrard
    Aguero --> Suarez

      Walcott out, absolutely not.

Aguero > Suarez looks good although I can see Aguero exploding over the next 4 fixtures.

I would lose Mata before Walcott, but it's a really tough choice. It's why I'm avoiding Gerrard...

Thanks guys, I'll do my 2 free transfers, don't want to be taking a hit on top of that though.

      So how about:
      Aguero --> Suarez

      Then either...
Clichy --> Jose Enrique or Rafael --> Johnson
