The Big Numbers – Gameweek 27

With tomorrow night’s Upton Park clash to come, our ICT Index rankings are currently dominated by two Spanish playmakers as both Santi Cazorla and David Silva lead the way off the back of their match-winning contributions. With two-goal strikers Romelu Lukaku and Arouna Kone also pressing for recognition, our rankings reflect a Gameweek where the differential came good, leaving established Fantasy favourites falling short.

Our members can examine the numbers behind the Gameweek in full via the members area tables and match dashboards and, as always, we’ve picked out a selection of stats that have caught our eye…

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Australia trailing by 150 with 3 wickets down. India still have to bat their 2nd innings if needed.

Ashwin has taken 9 wickets in this game..and Michael Clarke comes on and decides to hit Ashwin for a 6 and a 4..Just after getting dropped. Fascinating cricket.

Interesting...bit reluctant to do triple pool. Then again triple pool vs Double toon is comparable in riskiness I guess. I'm set on shipping RVP. Makes no sense having 13.7 sitting on my bench.

Assuming RVP is fit for the Norwich game, does anyone think he'll get some game-time?

Somehow I don't see him being rested completely if he's 100% fit. He was saying how he needs to keep playing to keep his form and he doesn't want to be rested.

Since he only got 40 mins yesterday and only came on as a sub against Reading in the FA Cup, a complete rest vs. Norwich would mean a whole 3 weeks with less than 90 minutes of game-time.

If they're 3-0 up after 75 I don't see him anywhere near the pitch. Think about it from SAF's point of view and it makes no sense. At 0-0 after 75 and you might be right...

I'm keeping him. And I think many will, no way he's going to drop 0,5 in two weeks.

And most have had him for such a long time that they'll have problems to afford getting him back in or have to use many transfer/team changes to get him back in.

For me to win my FPL Members Cup game, Bale needs to score exactly 20 points today...

    A hattrick (15) + Appearance (2) + baps (3) = 20 points...

What is the probability that it happens?

    Enrique Davies Zab Demel Clyne

So tempted to do RVP > Cisse and Fellaini > Bale. meaning team would look like this for 28

    Enrique Davies Zab
    Michu Walcott Bale Mata
    Cisse Suarez Lambo

Similar front line to me. I wouldn't get Ars defenders in at the moment. They couldn't even defend against Villa and have a blank 29 probably. Personally, I'd wait and give yourself 2 FT next week as you can make up 11 for then with no hit and your team for 28 is perfectly respectable.

    A. Bench Giroud

Other six of the front eight is Bale Mata Walcott Fellaini Michu RVP, assuming RVP will start next week.

Why do people say if you lose RVP it will be difficult to get him back? Just keep enough money in the bank to get him back whenever you want. Simples.

If I sell him I will lose 0.5M but so what? If I don't sell him I will have 13.5M sitting on my bench for 2x games. Almost everyone has to get rid of certain players before GW29 anyway. If Man U definitely have a blank and we know this before the end of this week he's gone from my squad. I'd much rather lose 0.5M and have someone like Suarez in my squad as a replacement. Anyway, I won't lose 0.5M as when he doesn't play against Norwich and people see he has a blank the following GW lots of players will start selling him due to both/either kneejerking as he scored 0 points and panicking to try to field a decent starting 11 in GW29

Sound logic. You have to factor in the value of the two free transfers, though - assuming you want him back. I think that's what is putting a lot of people off selling him.

I will just make the transfers as if he was still in my team (always keeping enough in the bank to upgrade my striker replacement back to RVP whenever I want).

I don't think it's crucial to get him back. Suarez has pretty good fixtures until the end of the season and no EL. RvP could get alot of rest/rotation if United goes through in UCL, which is not that unlikely anymore.

If you plant to leave plenty of money in the bank then why not just bench him? Money on the bench and money in the bank is basically the same thing.

No it isn't, I won't have 13.5M in the bank I will have Suarez and 3.5M in the bank. If I did a poll asking :

        A) No player and no money in the bank
        B) Suarez and 3.5M in the bank

I think most would go for B so it isn't the same thing at all

you need to take into account that it will be 13.5m - the value of the player you would otherwise have on the bench so no it wouldn't be 13.5 as you initially stated. Rather it is as you mentioned in B). Of course this doesn't take into account the option of 352?

I think people are waiting to see if the MUN WHM fixture reshceduled in the same GW or not
Because if MUN are playing in GW29 theres less reason to sell him, most will decide to just bench RVP for GW28 only.

At least there where in at.

The Telegraph says Fergie will likely rest the entire first XI of Man United he wants to face Real Madrid for the match against Norwich...

Wasn't there some rule brought in by the FA that you cannot play your second string team in the Premier League or something like that?

We don't know that yet. People are jumping to too many conclusions. Don't believe everything you read from Journo's. They just want dramatic story lines.

Never heard of that rule but if its true it would be terribly unfair.

Whats the point of having a deep squad then? Clubs should have the right to play any player named in squad at any time.

I agree.. but the FA fools fine the clubs for fielding a weakened (second string) team..

There is indeed such a rule....Just wrote the explanation in the next page.

But it won't have any affect for the Norwich game.

    Begovic (Rudd)
    Davies, Johnson, Demel (Martin, Mariappa)
    Bale, Michu, Mata, Walcott, Fellaini
    Aguero, RVP (Pog)

Thought of doing Demel to Wilson, but are there any other options I’m missing? Thanks

Good choice, but I'd have one eye on the GW29 blanks. Especially with those 2 forwards.

This rvp transfer out debate could possibly be the making or breaking of a lot of teams. Hes the highest points scorer so far so no doubt he will be the highest points scorer in the period left aswell.

Wth the possibility of two blanks tho its really gotten interesting. Getting rid short term all depends on the strategy of getting him back. Looks like all the recent aquirers are ditching. I think this is gonna result in a .2 drop this week.

Next week tho all depends on if he plays or cameos or does nought. The people who bout at 13.5 ish will be jumpy. Gw29 tho will see a lot of turmoil and there will be lots of other options for the transfer out.

The big gamble is for those who bought at 13 mil. Will he drop enough to allow a buy back? Will ur replacement rise as much as he falls? Thing is with the likes of lambert, beteke, berbatov etc theres room to sacrifice cash if it goes pairshaped by replacing one of your other strickers.

    Interesting tho. Game on

Same here. But with those cheap strickers selling is easily done. For instance i have giroud in my team, who replaced ba when he turned unthruswardy :). If i transfered out rvp and lost say .5 mil at worst just means for me anyways that giroud becomes say 7.5 sturridge. No bad thing

See your point. I can afford to go that route if need be, or if RVP starts dropping in value. But I need to sort out my Demel and Marveaux dilemnas first I think!

I'm not sure he is certain to be the highest scoring forward for the remainder actually.

The title is pretty much sewn up and they still have cup competitions to play for.

Many will sell if the GW29 blank is confirmed by the GW28 deadline and if we have concrete evidence that he won't play vs. Norwich (e.g. not in the squad).

Many will plan to buy him back but it depends on the alternatives. There's less of a need to go RVP-less when 6-8m strikers are matching the expensive ones in terms of output and we have solid mid-priced midfielders (Michu, Fellaini, Sissoko?)

I do think he will be top scorer from gw30 on. Same was said last year and the guy just wouldnt stop scoring. But plenty of alternatives. Even a strike force of say sturidge, lambert, benteke for instance, quiet cheap but by no means could u call it week.

Very different season to last year this one with the standard power 5 and all. Seems all the bargain up and comers were strickers this year as opposed to mids last year

I'd definitely want him for the double, though. And would definitely keep if he doesn't have a blank in GW29. I guess my transfer strategy is completely in the hands of whoever is going to decide the fixture list.

Defo. Im allready planning i think on righting off gw29. I have 2 ft to tidy up but if all blanks occur ill be lucky to field half a team that week.

But right capt and still cud break 40 🙂
