No thrills. Few spills. Just two men in a room talking about Fantasy Football.

Granville and I handed Jonty and the “Professor” an extended pre-season and rolled the ScoutCast back to its rawest form. Just myself and the Mancunian sharing our thoughts after a summer break and looking forward to another Fantasy campaign.

We talk double Gameweek assets, I roll out the van Persie duvet, Granville reveals more than he should about his team lineup and, around all that, we assess the early bandwagons and preview the weekend fixtures.

Forty-five minutes of two blokes talking about the stuff that’s rattling around in most of our heads right now.

As its a little quieter on here I thought that I would put my team up. Its got some punty differentials in but I like it. I've tried to put subs that I think will play in the team in the hope that even if they dont make my team they will go up in value and help my budget.

Cech

Garrido, Coleman, Collins (Naughton, Turner (CAR)

Countinho, Walcott, Hazard, R Morrison (Huddlestone)

RVP, Aspas, Lukaku

Then GW 2 is Cech to Mignolet and Lukaku to Soldado.

You dont have to RMT, I just wanted to throw it out there 🙂

Too much of a punt to start with Zaha?

Snodgrass is a bit boring, and I'll have Kim to cover if he doesn't play.

I'm a bit worried about Osvaldo maybe coming to Southampton to take game time from JRod as well. Don't know if Kim is good enough cover if i have two players not nailed on.

  Don't worry about Osvaldo, Spurs are after him as well.
  
  Snodgrass is consistent and there is nothing wrong with that. Zaha is too much of a risk especially with their tough fixture schedule.

Here's the latest draft with a couple of decisions outstanding...

Boruc, (Davis)
Terry, Zaba, Toure, (Chester), (Brayford)
Hazard, Walcott, Silva, Mirallas, (Morrison)
Lukaku, Soldado, Sturridge

a) Sturridge or Benteke? Would probably force me into taking a hit by GW3 (not ideal given I plan to WC after GW3).
b) Sturridge -> Dzeko and use the 1.5m to upgrade Morisson and leave some cash in the bank for Lukaku -> ? in GW2

    Not overly convinced with Silva, just feel a MCY attacker is essential for the first 3 weeks and he's the most nailed on (and on some set pieces).... You got any MCY attacking cover?

  Very similar to mine, I have Zaha Ivan and Migs over Mirallas Terry n Boruc.
  
  I'd stick with Sturridge as Benteke's fixtures are tough. Dzeko is only a 2-3gwk punt imo, only get him if you're planning an early wildcard.

  I've got Nolan over Silva.
  
  1.5m in the bank to do Lukaku to Negredo in gw 2.
  
  Makes it possible to have Beneteke and still get 11 out gw 3 without a hit.
  
  I also believe Williams(4.5m midf) is a better option...as per Evs.

Anyone else considering doing the ol' stack the team for gw1, assess the best bargain buys right away and put the best team going forward?

I know I know it is somewhat foolish.

For those still getting Collins , not only is he injured but he has a history of injuries , this present one could well linger and recur. He also has Tompkins breathing down his neck for the starting berth.
Sadly bringing him in is now fairly high risk

Playing around with bringing RVP in GW 3 or so and I've come up with this team:

Foster (Boruc)

M. Turner / Toure / Koscielny (Ward / Brayford)

Oscar [or Lampard, TBC] / Walcott / Zaha / Mirallas (Kim)

Aspas / RVP / Soldado

Will take a 4 point hit to get it, but it works. Thoughts?

Re-Collins: From the Scout Team Sheets - I'm going by this unless we hear otherwise later

Latest News…James Collins is hoping to recover from the knee problem that forced him to withdraw from the Wales squad in midweek – James Tomkins is set to step in alongside Winston Reid if he fails to make it. Sam Allardyce could hand Stewart Downing a debut after he joined from Liverpool in midweek, while Modibo Maiga loos in the driving seat for the lone forward role if, as expected, Andy Carroll remains on the sidelines with a heel problem. Allardyce must decide whether to retain the in-form Ravel Morrison in his starting XI after the youngster grabbed six goals in pre-season; the likes of Momo Diarra and Jack Collison offer alternatives in the central midfield area.
