We look to the Scout Picks for inspiration in our weekly attempt to get the better of Paddy. A couple of in-form north London-based midfielders are called upon, whilst we also target United’s home clash against Norwich as a potential source of profit in light of David Moyes’ dismissal.
Our first port of call is the Britannia on Saturday afternoon as Stoke prepare for the visit of Tim Sherwood’s Tottenham. Paddy are offering 10/1 on Christian Eriksen to score and for Spurs to register a clean sheet. Given that the Dane has scored four times in his last five appearances, there’s every chance he’ll get amongst the goals as Sherwood’s side look to go on the attack, but with the visitors struggling to keep out their opponents in recent weeks, we hand over £3 of our kitty.
Next up, United’s home encounter with Norwich takes on a whole new significance after they sacked David Moyes earlier in the week. Paddy are offering 13/2 on Wayne Rooney to score two or more and the Old Trafford outfit to keep the Canaries at bay. With interim-manager Ryan Giggs certain to go on the attack after a series of cagey displays under the previous man in charge, Rooney could be in the goals once again – he’s bagged a brace in two of his last five, and with the Canaries netting in only one of their previous four, we’re more than happy to stick £3 on this one.
Our final game is Monday evening’s encounter at the Emirates, as Arsenal prepare for the visit of Newcastle. Paddy are willing to offer 4/1 on Aaron Ramsey to score and for the Gunners to keep out the out-of-form Magpies. Given that the Welshman was amongst the goals in last week’s win over Hull and that Alan Pardew’s side have failed to score in five of their last six road trips, we make this our bet of the week and hand Paddy our remaining £4.
