    The £4.5m midfielder.

Not exactly much along the line of decent options folks. Who we going for?

I'm nearly tempted to wait for word from Pearson and hold Albrighton. I don't really plan him playing anyway.

And if I have to pick Marney I'll gouge my eyes out with a fork.

At 4.5 I would rank them Albrighton, Wanayama then Marney.

Also thinking if it's worth paying 0.5 more for Steven Davis from Southampton?

Does he play behind the hole? If any of my player don't play and this 5th mid step in at least there's potential for more points..

I used to have Albrighton but have switched him to Marney, simply because he is nailed on.

If Albrighton becomes nailed on I can switch on a WC and get him. But for now I want my squad members to start for their teams

How would you compare the nailoness of Wanayama vs Marney then?

Surely Wanayama plays for a better team?

I'm going for Isgrove, just in case he's the next great winger from that Academy. He might not play, but I if you're going to gamble, it might as well be with a minimum player.

I've currently got Wanyama, though I'm not all that enthused about it. Apparently he scored a few for Celtic prior to joining Southampton (6 I believe) so he's got an eye for goal and should be nailed on in the saints midfield with all the departures. Then again, he picks up cards.

Some have touted another Saint - isgrove - as a cheeky punt but I have no idea who he is.

I got off at the station, sat on the platform for a while mulling things over, watching other vehicles (e.g the bojan-wagon) speed by at break-neck speed, bound to crash. The Henderson train stopped for a while to refuel, and I considered hopping on. Yet eventually I came to my senses and reboarded the siggy train as it came back the other way, shedding thoughtless owners. All aboard the siggy express!

The Hendo train, once boarded, leads to instant gratification with good early progress as it rips through Southampton.Yet this proves to be a false dawn. As the train begins to move faster, it becomes weighed down by it's many occupants, leading to spectacular collapse. The siggy train chugs by scornfully, picking up survivors from the crash site, whilst some remain stuck in the wreckage, with the price of boarding the siggy express now too high and out of reach for many.

😆 I upgraded to the Alexis Bullet and imagined enjoying $1000 caviar. But I couldn't bear the expense and hastily got a refund.

That said, have you considered a Siggy/Bojan wagon combo? Two for the price of two! It cannot be beat!

          😀

A thought briefly considered and hastily dispatched:

I sit aboard the now quiet Siggy train on a Friday night, considering my options. A long journey is scheduled for the next morning, and impatience is the word of the day, so I decide to switch the plush interior of the siggy express for the more jaded, crudely designed bojan-wagon, as it need not travel further than it's home town of stoke the next day.

The following afternoon, whilst travelling aboard the bojan-wagon, I hear a joyful cry over the radio that all travellers on the siggy express have just been delivered bounteous returns, in the form of breakfast buffets and banquets, for its namesake has just won Swansea a tight game. The driver of the bojan wagon is do distracted by the news that he forgets to apply the brakes in time as we approach the station. The train skids, loses traction on the rails and a number of carriages are thrown from the tracks. The bojan-wagon eventually stops in a crumbling heap, with only a single red carriage remaining on the tracks, ironically reminding its former occupants of the red card and season-ending injury its own namesake has just sustained.

          I'm good thanks.

Hi there, first ever post and just bought membership! Would love it if you could critique my team. I've gone for 5 solid players I know will score me a good amount of points. The rest of the team are solid players (I have decided against ANY 4.5 or lower other than my backup keeper) who I believe will all score solid points. Potential problems: players scoring decent points on the bench (my biggest pet hate). Anyway here is my team:
    Courtois
    Isla Debuchy Caulker Lovren Shaw
    Ramsey Mata Fabregas
    Giourd Rooney
    (Mannone)(Bojan avl h, Sigurdsson mun a, Ward-Prowse liv a)

I plan on swapping Ward-Prowse for Gnabry once he is loaned from Arsenal

    ANY contribution is welcome!
    Thanks!

I shall help as you asked so nicely. First of Courtois is a decent pick if he'll play but can see a lot of rotation with him and Cech go With someone cheaper in my opinion. Isla and Caulker is too much QPR preferably would keep Caulker for time being. Shaw also is a risk at 6 and may not play every game. Once those players have been downgraded consider upgrading either upgrading midfielders or strikers as you've got way to much invested in the back and playing 5 at the back very rarely works.

Thanks a lot for the reply, I understand what you are saying about Courtois as he is definitely a risk so I will have a look around at the other keepers. I originally had Krul and Mannone but once I had picked the starting XI I realized that I could be missing valuable points in the keeper role. My search for a solid keeper continues! I will think long and hard about which defender to get rid of out of Isla and Caulker. Don't forget that Isla will be playing pretty much a right midfielder and will still receive clean sheets. Also, having 3 Centre backs instead of two this season may lower Caulker's goals ratio as he might have to share them around? Will definitely keep looking into this. Agreed about Shaw, I had him in, then took him out when I saw his injury, then back in again when I swapped Filipe Luis for Courtois. I'll look for a cheaper replacement, although as with Isla, I like the idea of him being a wingback rather than a fullback. (who do you think will be vying for his place? Young or someone else?) Cheers again for the analysis, means a lot! 🙂

Welcome to the fold, Beaver. Team looks good. I like the strategy of picking 15 players you can rely on, 4m fillers are a no-no for me. But don't fall into the trap of overinvesting in the team you support unless you also genuinely think these are the best guys to pick in fantasy. 5 at the back is unconventional but I actually think it could work. Good luck!

Thanks for the advice Reedy! I agree about the fillers, they vary rarely go up in value which is surely one of the main goals at the start of the season! As you may be able to tell, I support Arsenal, but putting all bias aside, I do feel that they have plenty of good value players. Just because you mentioned it, I will be looking over all three once again. Thanks so much again for your advice! 😉

Welcome. Remember each posted RMT must be supplemented by sacrificing blood to the keyboard of your computer.. one sharp slice to the tip of any finger shall do.
I don't think Isla is good value and Liverpool have a poor defensive record though I expect them to improve this season.. Shaw may not be fit to start the season.
All solid picks in defence and attack, but maybe get in some cheaper defenders for Isla, Shaw and Lovren and use the money to upgrade JWP

I shall downgrade at least one or two defenders (keeper too?), and look into upgrading one of my midfielders. (although I would love to directly swap JWP for a loaned out Gnabry).
Good luck on your quest, Gimli son of Gloin.

Sorry about the overuse of solid haha.
I'm a little worried about Isla AND Caulker, but contrary to popular opinion I feel that Isla is the stronger of the two. He will be a complete wingback in a 3 5 2 formation, still gets clean sheets and surely will come in with plenty of assists?

How many are going with Sterling?

I've upgraded from Tadic; but I'm not sold yet.

GW1 yes, then Sterling goes out for Tadic/Siggy. Depends if Siggy's playing in the hole.

Thanks guys, I'll sit for now; but he could be the first one out.

Tadic is an attractive and cost effective option. I wish I could fit him in. :/

Keep Tripper or upgrade to a 6.0 luis or vertoghen?

if I keep him I can upgrade another 4.0 to 5.0 like ward or caulker

No idea but with arsenal up first it might not matter so much. Hope he is established in the team before long though 🙂

Saints have the fixtures. Palace have the defence, as well as decent fixtures.

Not an RMT, just an RMD 😀

    Cahill, Ward, Rio, Chester, Naylor

Decent rotation between those 4 cheap defenders, it gives these fixtures for the first 7 GWs, along with a Chelsea defender.

How sure are we if spurs midfield line up? I'm suddenly wandering if Erik is as nailed as I thought with the emergence of holtby in pre season. Erik a level up in class IMO, surely ponch can see that as well

Holtby plays in the double pivot, Erik will play in that attacking 3 behind the lone striker, all good

Which Chelsea defender (in your opinion) is the most nailed on? I don't want to pay 6M on Filipe Luis if he doesn't start...

I'm finding with my latest draft that I have to downgrade one midfielder

Which 2 of Ramsey, Sterling, Mata would you keep?

To be honest the question really becomes which one of Sterling or Mata do I keep? Ramsey is too good.
