Gently does it. Granville and I ease ourselves into the season with another thirty-minute bite-size podcast, gradually building up our fitness before we go full tilt next month.

Yes, it’s just the pair of us again, cuddling up in our intimate studio to discuss the events of Gameweek one, whilst casting one eye on the fixtures and events to come this weekend.

We get through the usual array of regulars, with Granville explaining how a wedding and a bout of childcare threatened to ruin his campaign, just as it gets out of the blocks. We reach out to all those Siggy benchers, whilst picking the bones out United’s limp corpse following their opening day defeat. We then chat Fabregas vs Hazard, Ivanovic vs the rest (they’re going to run and run) and sing Ultimate’s praises for helping the previously unloved play their part in our Fantasy seasons.

    Mata unlikely to drop tonight. Southampton play on the Saturday, if Tadic looks really good or one of the newcastle mids has a big game then I'm going to take mata out on the Saturday for one of them.
    Will avoid price drop and get on a wagon.
    Plus will enable bony to Balotelli in GW 4

        Worse that can happen is mata gets loads of points on Sunday and I regret selling on the Saturday night. But if that happens at least i get all his points, where those who sold this week dont

          You have held on to Mata because you think he will produce in the next few weeks. Take the drop on your chin and hold on to him at least till he plays. You might have other players to worry about bedore the end of the week.
          But that's just my opinion.

    I think i get the reward for most unfashionable transfer..
    Young to Albrighton 🙂 .. Got a good bench and this frees up Cash for Davies to Hendo next week/double transfer with a defense downgrade and Tadic instead.

        the 0.5 facilitates Davies to Tadic/Cabella/DeJong too. would just need to free up 1.5 from my very expensive defense. and Balo coming in would leave hendo in a similar position as last year. and he still manage a decent points total

            Agreed.. most probably gonna do Debuchy to 4.0 OR Terry to Clyne to free up the cash for Davies to Tadic next week. though i am loathe to do either 🙁 .. defense needs a downgrade if i wanna keep my big front line though

                not convinced he'll start after a bit tbh. with Long probably gonna start soon, Taider/Ramirez not far away and a new winger on Koeman's mind the competition for places is a bit too much for my liking. You gotta assume that Wanyama, Schneiderling, Tadic and Pelle will be nailed. that leaves 2 spots for Davis, Long, JWP, Taider, RAmirez, New winger.
                I dont liek the risk tbh. might as well save the 0.5

              Sounds like a better plan. I'd do Terry > Clyne. Let the chelsea defence settle first. They have been conceding a stupid goal every game since pre-season just like Pool were last season.

        too expensive for a 5th mid and too meh for a 4th 🙁 .. hull lining up a new striker so his potential is 2 weeks long really. Decided to play a lil safe. my team a bit punty anyway without Fabs/Sterling etc

    I presume Tadic's price will skyrocket once people notice how good of a player he is. He's a massive differential now. Tadic will probably be the first player I bring in this season. He'll replace Lamela/Mata in my team.

      Really like Tadic and gettin him in next week mostly but waitin a bit would be better.. even Koeman said that he needs time to adjust to the league and was a bit slow and off his game in the first GW. can imagine how good he'll be after a few more weeks

        Agreed. Showed off really good skills at times but inconsistent and the pace of the game saw him caught in possession a few too many times (most notably on the Sterling goal).

        I'm wondering which will be the first to break out as a fantasy asset between him & Pelle. First guy that does so will likely be added immediately to my team as the Saints fixtures are ace!

        I see him and De Jong as the possible breakthru stars of the FPL season. De Jong, once deployed As a fwd in a 3-5-2 formation, will be appealing, in addition to set pieces and the possibility of him being on Penalties.
        Tadic could be the Michu of SoTon because he could be their main threat on the counter, but this time he has more assisting potential.

    Do you guys reckon that Young will fall in price tonight?

    I was planning on saving my FT to get more insight after this GW. I think I will ditch Young and Giroud (not sure for who yet, that is why I wanted to wait for tommorrows matches).
    But should I sell Young for another max 5,5 mid if he is to fall tonight?
    I reckon since it is less chances for price increases with the new system it is really a crisis if a player you have decreases in value.

      It's a fallacy to think there's less chance if a price rise with the 'new' system. You still have the same chance of going up in price, it's just the pace of the rise will be slower for popular bandwagons.

        There is less chance of a price rise between gameweeks though which does make the situation les pressured.
