The ScoutCast – Episode 134 – Starter

Gently does it. Granville and I ease ourselves into the season with another thirty-minute bite-size podcast, gradually building up our fitness before we go full tilt next month.

Yes, it’s just the pair of us again, cuddling up in our intimate studio to discuss the events of Gameweek one, whilst casting one eye on the fixtures and events to come this weekend.

We get through the usual array of regulars, with Granville explaining how a wedding and a bout of childcare threatened to ruin his campaign, just as it gets out of the blocks. We reach out to all those Siggy benchers, whilst picking the bones out United’s limp corpse following their opening day defeat. We then chat Fabregas vs Hazard, Ivanovic vs the rest (they’re going to run and run) and sing Ultimate’s praises for helping the previously unloved play their part in our Fantasy seasons.

Pick at the buffet via this link, or dash straight to the main course via the handy player below….

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

My good mate asked me, whether to drop Mata for Ramsey or Silva if his price looks like it's going to drop to 8.9 tomorrow morning, or keep him for the chance to prove himself away to sunderland?

Glad I didn't need to make the decision as I already shipped him out for Fab before his price rise.

I think id say stick, but Ince could be a great option both for this GW and the season. Still, Young could also score pts v Sunderland, so unless his value drops sticking might be the best option

REplied previous page. the thing with Ince is he is a one week punt. will play upfront this week and could do well. However, they need to play Europa on Thursday and expect their first team to play there to overcome the 1-0 deficit. Then Sagbo will be back and Bruce wants a new striker so Ince's OOPness wont last

Not looking bad, not looking to great either just based on the fixtures this week. Whats your thoughts lads?

Begovic (Myhill)- Expect at least 7 from Begovic
Debuchy, Wisdom, Phil Jones (Lovren, Moore) - Expect 2, 2 and 6-8 from Jones
Ramsey, Fabregas, Silva, Siggy (Henderson) Expect 2-3, 8-12 , 4-8 and 6 plus from Siggy
    Rooney, Bojan, Costa (c) ... Expect 6-10 , 4-10, 12 plus for Costax2 ofcourse

Expected points roughly.... 68-75.. Correct? Thoughts?

I've some genuine, statistical advice for all you people who are 50/50 on choosing people. Decide which one you gut is telling you to pick, and then choose the other one. They will statistically be more likely to do better - and if you don't believe me (because you think it must be 50/50) then look up the Monty Hall problem.

you need to pick one of 3, exclude one and then change to get the 1/3 vs 2/3 odds

you need to pick one of 3 and then exclude an incorrect answer for it to be a factor.
so unless Taraabt was a choice it won't work 🙂

Bony to be. Don't need to worry about the transfer. Liverpool on Balo means they won't buy Bony. Arsenal doesn't seem so as well (if they decide to buy they will go for someone far better than Giroud). Can't see any team, no matter in which leager, will have the money to buy him. He cost Swansea $12m before. Will Swansea sell him less than $20m? If not, who else has this money to buy a not-yet top class striker? For me I think his best chance of transfer has disappeared for long, which is, Everton has the best chance to buy him, but they strike a deal with Chelsea to take Lukaku. Game over for Bony's wants, haha.

I can see Young getting an assist, I don't see Bojan doing anything. Hull are solid defensively and a good side. They won't be too tired as they have a bigger squad now (although I admit I have no idea who polayed midweek)

Haha, fair enough. But for example, the story about Balo burning down his house - turns out only a curtain above the toilet caught fire. That sort of thing - y'know what I mean? Whereas Suarez, much as I can't help but love the guy anyway, was reckless in a way that impacted Liverpool much more.

I don't follow Serie A, but his stats with Milan are still pretty good? 26 goals in 37 league starts? And I've heard they have been poor as a side recently.

Yeah, to be honest I'm just scared he turns out to be lazy in games. But this is based on nothing except that I think that's the worst possible outcome. Reckless challenges and other passionate stuff I can handle as long as he puts in a shift.

But I just think people underestimate how "tough" it must be to be sensible as teenager who came from poverty to earning silly money for playing a game, if that makes sense. I think he'll have matured a lot.
