The Weekend Team News

Seamus Coleman is expected to shrug off a knock as Everton entertain Palace. Ron Vlaar remains doubtful as Villa prepare for the visit of Arsenal. Danny Ings is ruled out of Burnley’s home clash with Sunderland, Jon Walters and Marko Arnautovic are doubts as Stoke travel to QPR, while Martin Skrtel is back as Liverpool roll up to West Ham.

Seamus Coleman was forced off with a knock in Everton’s win over Wolfsburg last night but Roberto Martinez is confident the right-back will recover in time for Sunday’s visit of Palace.

Callum Chambers has recovered from the illness that forced him out of the XI to face Dortmund, Arsene Wenger has confirmed. Mathieu Flamini is also available, whilst Jack Wilshere “is okay” after picking up an ankle problem during the 2-0 defeat. The Gunners boss has also revealed Mathieu Debuchy will be out for a minimum of six weeks with an ankle injury, though could be sidelined for three months if he requires surgery.

Jon Walters (calf) and Marko Arnautovic (foot) are both concerns for Stoke’s trip to QPR, Mark Hughes has confirmed. The former has only just returned to training after picking up a knock, though Stephen Ireland is pushing for a recall after recovering from a rib problem.

Harry Redknapp has revealed QPR have “a few knocks” ahead of the home clash against Stoke. Joey Barton (hamstring) and Jordon Mutch (knock) will continue to be assessed, though Adel Taarabt is ruled out with an ankle injury.

Ronald Koeman has revealed new signing Sadio Mane has finally received a work permit and will arrive in Southampton tomorrow, though is unlikely to be ready in time to face QPR. Shane Long has recovered from the knock that forced him off against Newcastle last weekend.

Danny Ings has been ruled out of Burnley’s home clash with sunderland this weekend, with manager Sean Dyche refusing to put a timescale on his return. Matty Taylor is unavailable for the second successive Gameweeks and joins long-term absentee Sam Vokes on the sidelines.

Villa skipper Ron Vlaar remains a major doubt for the visit of Arsenal due to a calf complaint. Christian Benteke has returned to light training but is believed to be weeks away from a return to first-team action as Paul Lambert looks to protect his star striker. Joe Cole is also back in training, though is “a little bit behind on fitness levels”, according to his manager.

Kasper Schmeichel is expected to recover from the minor knee problem that saw him miss last weekend’s trip to Stoke, while Matty James is also in contention after recovering from injury to feature for the Under-21s on Monday.

Martin Skrtel is back for Liverpool’s trip to West Ham, though Joe Allen is out “for a few weeks”, according to Brendan Rodgers. The Reds boss expects Daniel Sturridge to return to training next week, though young Jon Flanagan is set for an extended spell on the sidelines after undergoing knee surgery.

Sam Allardyce has confirmed he has the same squad that travelled to Hull on Monday, an indication that Joey O’Brien will miss out again as the Hammers play host to Liverpool.

All this and more has now been updated in the Team News section ahead of tomorrow’s deadline. Keep an eye on our official twitter stream as breaking news unfolds.

Got £3.7 ITB folks - feels criminal. Already done Balo to Welbeck with my FT. Thoughts?

    Begovic (Green)
    Dier, Clyne, Ivanovic (Moreno, Moore)
Ramsey, Sterling, Fabregas, Sigurdsson (D Jones)
    Naismith, Welbeck, Costa

          What's your team?

I regret mine a bit, but i guess i couldn't have seen the Debuchy injury coming (shipping Chambers was one of the reasons for the WC) and I captained Balotelli (who i brought in for Rooney).

Moral of the story: WC ain't always a guaranteed winner.

Don't rush in for Agüero ahead of Chelsea. Mourinho could well shut up shop for that one with the table as it is.

City need the win a lot more than they do, no need to go hung ho.

      What?
Like the premier league, Fantasy Football is a marathon not a sprint.
You need a good base of long term starters and mix in a couple of punts which can be transfered out.
Dont design a team on a few weeks of fixtures.

I've got the same Krul v Mannone dilemma.

Odds on Hull not scoring are currently around 6 to 4. Odds on Burnley not scoring around 5 to 2. So if the betting markets are to be believed, more likely to get a CS with Krul.

How right have you got your team selection?

Just added the manager rating feature on the site -: http://preciselyme.com/fpl/hwc and I'm quite pleased with how it turned out.

In fact, I would like to extend this to the fpl site itself. Kinda like the greasemonkey script which allows you to quickly copy your team in the FFS approved team formatting.

What this would do is give you a manager rating for each gameweek.

    a) X = Calculates score of selected 11
    b) Y = Calculates score of best 11 of the team
    c) Manager Score is (X/Y)*100

Now, you can then bitch and moan about it and back it with stats. Would you be interested? 🙂

I know, but I don't think there'll be much scoring in Chelsea v City game. 1-1 I reckon.
Really hard to decide, but that's cos you've got a great team!

Play Ward Prowse, or play Bojan with JWP ready to come in if Bojan doesn't feature?
