    Repost lost in the mix...
Some advice please on Uefa league...

    A. Pogba,Jackson Martinez and mbemba -> hunterlaar, brahimi and Masuaku

    B. Pogba, Jackson Martinez and mbemba -> welbeck, draxler and masuaku/refinance

    C. Pogba, Jackson Martinez and mbemba -> robben, brahimi, fuchs/ masuaku

    D. Only do the first 2 options from 1 of the above categories

    E. Stick or only change 1 of the above.

    Thanks

Martinez was very unlucky not to get a big haul last GW. Hit the post at least twice.

    Which 3 to play.

    Chester

    Dummet

    Duff

Currently on this. But I'm thinking of starting Chester over Duff. If he doesn't play then Duff will come on. If he does, he has a high chance of getting a CS at home against Palace.

I though about writing this with my suggestion but then just gave the best 3 names..nice idea imo but has it's cons as Chester might make a 1pt cameo.

That's my only concern. I asked a couple of hours ago on what are the chances Chester comes on as a sub to hold a lead. Most people said unlikely.

It is unlikely unless Hull want to go tight defending a lead. I feel it's worth the risk to play him over Duff

In other words Bale and cheap mid of 3.5 (anyone know anything about Zuffi) or sterling and a 7.5

It shows how much of Arsenal's attacking edge has been lost when people are talking so confidently about Chelsea keeping a clean sheet against them.

Yes, it is Chelsea, but there was a time when you'd confidently expect Arsenal to score against everyone.

    Forster, Gilks

    Ivanovic, PVA, Naylor, Duff, Moore
    Sterling, Tadic, Siggy, Chadlii, Boyd
    Costa, Aguero, Pelle

    Bank 4.1m
    0FT's

This isn't an RMT but its necessary to mention my team so people can understand the balance.
My plan next week is to use the cash to bring in Baines for one of my cheap defenders (probably Moore). It would mean owning both Ivanovic and Baines. I have never gone for such a strategy before but with ADM and Fabregas having tough upcoming fixtures and Liverpool out of form I think it could pay off. Thoughts?

Ivan and Baines both top the stats for defenders. Mourinho knows how to get clean sheets and Ivan has crazy attacking stats. Baines is about to start a run of great fixtures and he always gets about 170pts every season, the time to buy is after the United game. It does feel kind of risky because it isn't 'the done thing' but for 7m I think both are great value when you consider their total points so far/potential

        1. Puyol Pants Up
          • 9 Years
          9 years, 8 months ago

I don't think its worth it. 6 points is the likely outcome for both defenders. Midfielders with tough fixtures could still out score them. All it takes is one goal, and we know ADM and sterling can finish.

True but at 7million you aren't expecting Baines to outscore sterling or ADM. More like the types of Mirallas and Sig, who are capable of a few blanks with tough fix. The point still stands but to a lesser extent.

Yeah this is it really. I see value at 7m. All they need to do is match the returns of mid priced mids which I think is quite likely.

In theory I believe it is too. I'm usually an advocate for an Uber defence but I'm just not convinced by a lot of big hitters at the moment. Might as well take the plunge and capitalise on the opportunity. It feels soo wrong but going to back my gut here I think. If it fails I can always downgrade Ivan and upgrade a mid.

It could well be a good move but i get worried with one 'big' defender let alone 2.

I would like a combo of these over the 2 weeks

      Ivan to Baines
      Moore to Chambers
      leaves 3.9?
Chadli up to a Silva/ Walcott later

Nice plan but I can't really drop Ivan at the moment surely. Chelsea tends to shut up shop against the big teams meaning fixtures aren't too much of a problem.

My bail out plan would be an Ivan downgrade

Would personally strengthen up your midfield - as in tadic, siggy and chadli you have three good options but not someone who you could really place as captain with certainty,

So that would be one of ivan/baines. Ivan's points seem to have dried up a little, although everton aren't keeping many cleanies. Would still go baines though.

      1. Think Tank

With Costa and Aguero you have 2 ready-to-go captains already.

I'm looking at something like this in a couple of weeks

        Forster

        Baines / Clyne / Ivan

        Chadli / Fab / Tadic / Sterling

        Aguero / Costa / Ulloa

I'm thinking Costa and Aguero is enough captaincy coverage. I rarely captain a midfielder and actually tend to avoid captaining them. Too many fails in the past, Sterling being the latest example when Costa got his hat-trick.

With midfield I'm not convinced by ADM or Fabregas because of fixtures and from/position. I'm certainly not interested in Gerrard (Pool form and already have Sterling) or Silva (flatters to deceive). Obviously a big mid might 'reveal themselves' perhaps ADM will become a must have or Walcott will return to fitness and hit the ground running. Despite that however their time isn't now I don't think.

Yeah, think Wally will be a good candidate.

Yeah sounds good. Have avoided the soton pair of radical and pelle. Worries me a little but think there are better options. Anyone see any better upgrades for my team?

Can't find a better rotation with Mannonne at 4.5m. Had green but think they are even worse! What about a cheaper option than jedinak? Some say Boyd but feel he will be benched when Ings returns from injury

I was ditching both this/next week but had to transfer Rooney and Ramsey out so killed off my plans. One of them will make way for Baines next week hopefully so long as my squad remains fit after this week

    Time to use my WC?

    DDG/Gilks
    Cahill/Duff/Dummet/Clyne/Chester
    Siggy/Downing)Sterling/ADM/Marney
    Pelle/Aguero)/Costa

On -4. I feel I need to change all my defence/midfield. WC will also cancel out the hit. DDG needs to go.

Hmm...you need to get rid of Marney and Dummet but others look just fine. Should have a decent starting XI for next week and the week after if you use transfers right. I'd say hold onto the WC.

What's wrong with your midfield? The only worry for me is DDG and perhaps Dummet/Chester. Rest is a great team and certainly no need to WC

hmmm i guess there is never a perfect team but anyway those forward 7 are very good and could give you a lot of points at least for coming GW. I would wait at least until the int'l break. WC will come in handy during that time

    Feedback appreciated
    I have
    A. Ivanovic (Ars)
    B. Clyne (Tot)
    C. Shawcross (Sun)
    D. Moore (Burnley)
    E. Duff (Lei)
Should I play 3 or 4 at the back next week? And who?

Play Ivanovic, Clyne, Moore for sure. Toss up between Shawcross and your midfielder.

Midfield is ADM, Sterling, Siggy, Chadli (Thinking of benching Chadli if I go 4 at the back). What do you think now?

Def play Chadli. Play Ivan, Moore and Clyne/Shawcross (can't decide who's a better pick looking past home/away factor) at the back.

I'm pretty happy with my team, but I think getting rid of DDG is a priority. Then losing Dier if he doesn't regain his place. Team is

    DDG (Myhill)
Dier - ivan - clyne (dummett, hutton)
    ADM, Fab, Siggy, Sterling (Cork)
    Costa, welbz, pelle

Which keeper would you get in at the moment? And who would you chose to replace dier? I have some thoughts, but pretty sure I'm missing something!

Forster, Guzan, Fabianski, Begovic are a few options.

Dier replacement options: PvA, Chambers, Williams

Nah, it's fun to moniter price changes and make transfers according to that. All the knee-jerks due to the prices are what makes FPL better than other games imo

I agree. Price changes ensure you are rewarded for taking a few risks/ checking fixtures etc.
I would not mind the price fall/rise system being totally transparent and part of the FPL website.

    ADVICE - Use WC?

    Currently (Last GW):
    Mannone - Begovic
Lovren - Clyne - Wisdom (Caulker - Davies)
Siggy - Sterling - Di Maria - Hazard (Wanyama)
    Costa - Ulloa - Rooney

I want Aguero in and Rooney out - Good thoughts?
Put Hazard out to free up money for Aguero

Lovren out (not that many points that i excepted)?

And when/if im on my WC maybe some other changes?
    Plz help out!

Your team looks fine except for Hazard and Rooney. And maybe Wanyama. Rooney is the priority so sub him out for Pelle/Baloteli. Keep Lovren for the home game against West Brom. Keep Hazard for the Arsenal game. No reason to take a hit or WC.

Haz to Fab and Roo to Kun is enough cash-wise? Then I'd do that otherwise Lovren to Naylor or Wilson, which will give you even more cash

and remember Wisdom cannot play against Pool

I cant do Rooney/Haz -> Aguero/Fab. Then Im -1.2M.If i add Wilson instead of Lovren, Im still -0.3M....

going to wait until tonight in case of injuries but pretty much set on R&R to Aguero & Sig. I missed the boat on Sig at the start but see this as a good opportunity to get him in.

Can't afford Tadic but wasn't planning him anyway as have Pelle and not keen on the double up.

Welbeck & Di Maria is another option. Thoughts?

Welbeck & Di Maria a better option imo.You can also consider Aguero and Sadio Mane.
