The Big Numbers – Gameweek 17

QPR’s home hitman hogs the array of impressive numbers on show from the weekend, ably assisted by stellar showings from Tottenham’s Harry Kane and Christian Eriksen. Elsewhere in our regular members’ statistical digest, we examine how Man City’s tactical tweaks influenced two of their key midfielders and analyse how a pair of returning United assets are hinting at major hauls as their minutes begin to build.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

It's not that bad if you think about it. It's like when Chelsea have a UCL tie, BPL game on the weekend before hand, UCL game midweek and then another BPL game on the following weekend, three games in a week.

strong team (cheap bench) vs benching headaches

benching headaches used to be something I would avoid but for me lately it just seems that every week I am badly in need of a strong bench at the moment , luckily Boyd came to the rescue a few times lately ! ( tho have done boyd to silva this week ).

that leaves me silva, sanchez, fabregas with downing and siggy as my 4th/5th mid , costa kane austin upfront and still £3.1m to spend ( azpi clyne baines at the back)

Tempted to run with a strong bench to cover injuries/christmas rotation etc till perhaps the end of january wilcard / aguero comes back etc any others thinking likewise ?

At this time of the year I like to have 2 strong bench options. Other times of the year, I go cheap as possible.

With Duff and Marney in my team, I've not had too many benching headaches lately. With the Christmas schedule arriving, you certainly make me think that Duff out could be right - a strong squad will be handy over the coming GWs.

Hutton is card magnet and Clark is goal threat. I like the lad. I think he is capable of 15 pter and Hutton just scored for the first time in 3 years or so. Also he easily gets red cards, I had enough of all those red cards this year in my squad

Yes those are good pts but I am scared of rotation. Vlaar is injury waiting to happen so it is Clark or Hutton, for me. I really prefer Clark but anyone knows why he wasn't playing beginning of the season? He was injured or out of favour? Who played above him?

Looking at the game stats, he did indeed not touch the ball. That answers my question from the other page too, I guess - the average position is the average of all the touches a player has over the game.

Really tempted to take a hit just to sort out my awful bench. It's bound to get some action on Boxing Day and two days later so could be more like a -2

Playing Wisdom at the moment with Yun, Moore and Obertan on the bench

    0.3 ITB

    a) Moore ➡ Hutton
    b) Obertan ➡ Boyd
    c) Leave it. Not worth a hit

I have a dilemma for the bench too.. On the other side I am thinking that everyone will be in the same boat so is it worth it ? Aren't those wasted transfers? How much pts that bench is gonna produce even if it plays?

I think a lot will have Boyd / a playing 5th mid. Hutton has good fixtures and he's nailed on for the festive period

Well, he'll shirley play so you're looking at only a -2. And Swansea aren't the sort of team who'll smash other teams and Villa haven't looked too shabby this season so I can't see Hutton finishing with 0 or even minus points. But in truth I'd usually avoid hits unless I've got loads of players out or if i think it's a really calculated gamble that'll pay off with the player scoring, etc.

Alexis could get rested, but the lack of options in Arsenal says he wont... its too soon for Walcott to play, and Wenger just seems to hate Podolski... It´s a big risk playing Alexis 26th and 28th tho, so I hope he will get rested (even as a owner)

      1. Will - Fantasy Football Hub
        • 12 Years

Its a difficult one - I think he needs a rest but not sure he when he will get it!

        1. Mr Blue
          • 13 Years
          9 years, 6 months ago

Only 2 options really. Walcott is not fit to start.
So no1. Podolski plays instead of Alexis
No2. Couquelin plays as CM and Ox plays instead of Alexis.

Keep captain on sanchez home to qpr surely, rather than use a transfer

I try to avoid my team on saturday, always backfire. Did Maria to Hazard few weeks back which didnt worked. Did Benteke to Carroll last week, it went wrong too 😐

How would ADM to hazard a few weeks back not have worked? ADM got injured and Hazard produced some hauls at home.

      Vergini or O'Shea

Vergini or Oshea IMO. YC means Vergini is the better one imo. But this time of the year it is a lottery with all that rotation

On the other hand OShea injury record scares me. How long he will be fit? What do you think

I am thinking my bench will be well tested over the next 2 GWs - have 3.1m ITB and wondering if any defender is worth a -4 for the next 2 GWs would be Moore --> xxx (currently have Azpi Clyne Baines )

Really difficult dilemma. It could be, but with the WC so close is -4 really worth it?

Tbh I dont thik Azpi, Baines or Clyne will get rested... But I guess Azpi could get another game on the bench... dont think its worth -4 tho, could backfire if the player u bring in get rested 😀

Play both if possible. But don't worry the rotation will solve that dilemma for u

It's got to be just one, as I want to play Azpi and Zaba. But you're right one of those two could be rotated!

        Cheers

    1) Foster to Panti as FT
    2) Alcaraz to Oshea/ Vergini/ Clark
    3) Save the transfer

And if possible why? The team as in below with no defenders on the bench

    Foster
    Baines Ivan Azpi
    Hazard Alexis YYT Downing
    Austin Kane RVP
    bench> Boydinho, Alcaraz, Yun
    0,8 ITB

    Thanks lads
