The ScoutCast – Episode 198 – Fickle

Just three weeks ago we dedicated a ScoutCast to Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

We collectively toasted his impact Manchester United and swore that he was set to be a mainstay in our squads and seasons.

Just 21-days later, three of the ScoutCast team have sold him on and another teeters on the edge – Jonty is only really hesitating because a four-point hit is involved.

To be fair, Zlatan’s likely biggest fan is missing for this week’s episode. With Granville nursing man-flu, it’s left to Luke to make a return and step in to join Jonty, Andy and myself as we gang up to round on the big Swede.

We’re clearly not the only one’s guilty of this foolishly fickle approach.

This week’s community questions were dominated by talk of a Zlatan exit, whilst also quizzing us on the rise and potential fall of Etienne Capoue, the potential offered by a switch to 3-5-2 and the merits of Theo Walcott as a Fantasy asset. No, really.

This episode of the ScoutCast was first beamed live via our YouTube channel on Tuesday night. Be sure to subscribe to get notice of future live episodes.

You can view the full Google Hangout version on the second player below, or opt for the old fashioned audio via this link or the first player.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

I took Ibra out for Aguero. I'm one of the fickle ones.

Is it fickle to get a player who blanked last time out?

Aguero is a greater player than Ibra in my opinion and that's why 99.9% of the time I shall go with that decision.

Aye but does fickle not more mean you change to the latest point scorer? Kuns not that.

    Bottom of old post.

    (A) KDB + Kun + Ozil
    Or
    (B) KDB + Kun + Sterling
    Or
    (C) Sanchez + Kun + Sterling

B feels like overkill and I know arsenal have decent fixtures - but man city just looking so so strong

      C. We've seen KDB with Kun and he's assist the assistant alot. Sanchez on the other hand is Alexis Sanchez one of the top fpl players.

Ok so my WC team is almost there

    Pickford
    Vertonghen, Morgan, Williams
    Firmino, Sanchez, Antonio, Snodgrass
    Aguero, Costa, Lukaku

    Subs Jaku, Amat, Kingsley, Capoue.

Would you change anything? My only thinking is Antonio to Sterling and downgrade Vertonghen to a 4.5 defender.

    Thoughts? thanks heap

As above, unleash Snoddy later on, Capoo for these next fixtures. I'm torn between Snoddy and Costa, or Sterling and Rash/Deeney, but the Hull fella has some tasy fixtures up ahead, and is pivotal for his team.

    Spotted a slight error

Jonty is only really hesitating because a four-point hit is involved.

    Should read

Jonty is only really hesitating because he is still owned by over 60% of all players

Ha. Good point King. I was thinking the same thing. We know his methods too well by now, and Jonty gets into the top 10K every single year by these canny/consistent/casual moves.

In unrelated news, I just dropped Ibra and Antonio for Deeney and Sanchez.

Sheesh! I don't even recognize my new WC team.

    Sitting here with these defenders:
    Walker
    Baines
    Lovren
    Holebas

Any care to push me to any other DEF's?? I'm pretty happy with everything else.

Valencia, Koscielny, Stones, Williams --- those are the ones that I thought I'd have.

    Cheers all.

After this question I promise to stop asking and do lots more answering.

Liverpool looks like team who can lose 2 against WBA anytime. I wouldnt go for their def cover yet. Walker Baines Holebas looks very good. You can squeeze Stones for Lovren perhaps.

I'm on WC and can't decide if it's worth trying. Only issue is I hate having to use a transfer on a keeper and may just be forcing myself down that route without a Foster/Heaton with one of them.

Imagine pre season if you were told ibra would be top point scoring striker after 5 games with 4 goals 1 assist and 2 home games to Leicester and Stoke up next but you would be selling him, maybe even for a hit. You would call yourself crazy right?

    1. Netley Lucas
      • 8 Years

      1. Bushido
        • 7 Years

My options were to dump sanchez to get aguero. Or get rid of Ibra for Aguero. I chose to keep sanchez (probably because I'm an Arsenal fan).

With the big hitting midfielders hitting their stride one of Kun or Ibra really has to make way in a lot of cases... it's a ballsy call either way.. i see Ibra as the better option for the next two GW's.. whether i'm proved right remains to be seen

Posted this a few days ago and got a very mixed bag of answers. Basically, toying between two different wildcards, with the four remaining X's still to be decided:

    Foster, Pickford
    Walker, X, Holebas, Francis, X
    Sanchez, X, Firmino, Capoue, Marney
    Aguero, Lukaku, X

    a) Williams, Kingsley, KDB & Deeney
    b) Coleman, Love, Antonio & Costa

Both options leave me with exactly 0.0 in the bank!

Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

I think it's partly down to being able to change KDB to basically any midfielder if he doesn't maintain his form. Plus, Costa and Deeney will hopefully be fairly even.

Bit concerned about no Antonio though, although I suspect West Ham are going to try shut up shop a bit in the next few weeks!

Can anybody help with a good Hull scouting report on the likes of the recent Player Guide on Watford Posted by Give The Todd Some Love? After the next 2 games Hull is getting ready to embark on a string very tasty fixtures... I'm eyeing up Davies and Snods on WC, are their other options worth considering? Diomande, Hernandez, Mbokani, Robertson, Jaku? Thanks!

    WC conundrum

    A. Pickford, Mane and Williams/Morgan
    B. Pickford, Firmino and Coleman/Fuchs (or other ~5.5)

Template WC teams here have Lukaku, Pool mid, WH mid, Sanchez, Aguero so 2 spots left.

Ah right, I see. Depends then, have Cap as a 4th and Ibra? Or as a 5th? Live a little, get Ibra in and start Cap... you know you want to.

Capoue would be 4th unless uber defence. Won't be around for early kickoff and would ruin the weekend if he failed and I had him.

B but there are other considerations

Is Kun nailed on for the armband for next 2
Is Ibra a better option for the Stoke in particular
      Would you captain Rashford

Like the Rashford pick! Feels like that is a bandwagon waiting to happen...plus safety of Snoddy/Capoue in the event he doesn't play.

Looks very good, though I'm not fully convinced about Shaw and Stones.

I have virtually the same front 8 in mind, except I have Antonio instead of Sterling, but looking towards bringing in the latter, and the West Ham player is the likeliest player to drop from my squad.

I planned to captain him last week but sold to lukaku instead then captained lukaku. Was well relieved. And the cash let me do Barkley to firmino this week.

Just crunching the numbers and Wally compares very favourably vs Sterling. With Arsenal upcoming fixtures why should I stick with Sterling?
