Paddy Says….Gameweek 6

The wise counsel of Paddy Power is back to guide us to learned teamsheet decisions with a hearty slice of anytime scorer and clean sheet odds thrown in.

And there’s more than a few tempting deals for new customers on offer this week from Paddy, although not quite as tasty as the one Paul Hollywood’s squeezed out of Channel 4.

Leicester might only have one away win to their name this season – the movie reference that is in Bruges – but the 16-1 on offer for them to beat United could make you a killing. You can also get 5-1 on the United win.

There’s also 16-1 available for a treble on Spurs, Everton and Liverpool all to win – generous indeed for a trio in such prime form.

If you’re intent on watching this evening’s kick-off, wincing with every Diego Costa challenge, you can spice things up further with odds of 8/1 on an Arsenal win or 10/1 on a triumph for Antonio Conte’s men.

Five league matches, five wins – no-one’s in better form than Man City, so 5-1 on them beating Swansea looks more than doable, while Southampton at West Ham could go either way, but 8-1 for the Saints to march away with a victory is well worth a look.

Be sure to check the terms and conditions on all those offers and, of course, we should state that all these specials are only available to those aged 18. If you’re going to wager, always gamble responsibly.

And so on to the meat in your Paddy pie.

He’s back and his odds are as short as his legs. Yep, Sergio Aguero (1.53) returns from his three-match ban primed and ready to add to his three league goals for the season and maybe cost Swansea boss Francesco Guidolin his job while he’s about it.

If you fancy your legs longer (and ego bigger), Zlatan (1.90) will be looking to punish a Leicester defence that’s coughed up five goals in two away matches so far. Marcus Rashford (2.80) is a longer shot but he’s on it – a goal in his first league start last time out and another in the EFL Cup in midweek.

Romelu Lukaku (2.25) also has form on his side, and Bournemouth in his sights. The big Belgian has four goals in two matches which, coincidentally, is the same amount (from the same matches) that the Cherries have shipped at home.

And never discount Diego Costa (2.50) against Arsenal. He might be about as welcome at the Emirates as a Fancy Bear at an NHS data protection meeting, but he’s got five in five in the league and after getting most of the Gunners sent off last season, fate almost demands that he’ll do more damage this afternoon.

CLEAN SHEET ODDS – GAMEWEEK 6

TeamOdds
Liverpool1.72
Manchester City2.10
Manchester United2.29
Tottenham2.50
Stoke2.70
Everton2.70
Watford2.87
Crystal Palace3.10
Burnley3.10
Sunderland3.20

Clean sheets have been a bit of a rarity this season and the odds reflect it.

Man City (2.10) have managed just the one so far, in last week’s mauling of Bournemouth, but Swansea are averaging less than a goal a game and have already drawn two blanks, one of which was at home.

United have two shut-outs to their name but have conceded five in their last two matches, so 2.29 looks a bit meagre for visit of Leicester. The Foxes might have failed to win on the road in the league, but they’ve not failed to score in either defeat.

Everton (2.70) have won three in a row, and two of them involved clean sheets, so they look a more attractive proposition, particularly against a Bournemouth outfit with just three goals to their name.

And Burnley have kept things tight at home – one clean sheet and just two goals conceded in three matches – so their 3.10 price is tempting. If they can stop the ten-goal Watford juggernaut, that is.

Many of us on WC appear to be on the Jakford GK train. Is the train not likely to crash into a wall fairly soon? Are we not all sleepwalking into a keeper less nightmare in less than a month?

Clearly the 8.0 combination opens up a number of options budget wise; but is it wise?

More importantly, what are all the sensible people doing?

Would you have KDB instead of Sanchez for this week only due to fixtures? Can then do KDB --> Sanchez next week for free.

You can say that about anyone you sell though...

I sold Rondon for Tekkers last week and the result was the same.

Gotta go with your gut so Zlatan's a gonner.

Everyone knows that now WAT's fixtures have eased, Capoue won't score, right..? It's the ultimate troll.

Anyway, no way I'm gonna play him over this lot...

    Sanchez Firmino Sterling Antonio

I did get his 13 pointer in a AOA masterstroke, so it's back to the bench with you.

    KDB owners!

Have you looked at his stats with and without Aguero?

There is not a big enough sample with Gurdiola in charge IMO

Two games without Aguero - double digit hauls

4 games with (Inc champs league) - nothing

Decent option to consider with Deeney and the punty Rashford. Concerns over Bournemouth form despite the now improving fixtures.

    Bench Lamela or Capoue ?

    Sanchez - Sterling - Antonio - XX
    Kun - Lukaku - Rondon

I'm afraid that Lamela is likely to start from the bench again.

    Okay guys.. Lovren Confusion!

I personally think that Klopp will play him as he'd want to build a partnership with Lovren and Matip, Lovren also played really well last game in the league.

With Holebas a doubt and Lovren in my team do I swap Lovren for Clyne as all these rumours are getting me a 'wee' nervous.

I'm on a WC as below with 1.6m itb.

    Jaku Pick

    Baines Holebas McAuley Amat LOVREN/CLYNE

    Firmino Mane Sanchez Capoue Antonio

    Lukaku Aguero (Diomande)

Clyne has been performing really well. Might just be about time he starts to return points
