The ScoutCast – Episode 225 – Brutal

“Brutal” can be the only way to describe the way the ScoutCast collective round on the mis-fortune of a fellow FFS team member.

I say “misfortune”, in truth, Jonty, Andy and Az join me in showing little sympathy for Spencer’s predicament as we circle his catastrophic 40-point hit and take turns jabbing at the corpse of his Gameweek 36 line-up. When you end up with Victor Anichebe as your captain, it’s difficult to show any mercy.

Spencer’s plight provides some light relief before we delve into our own insecurities following Spurs’ “impossible” defeat to West Ham, as Chelsea prepare to wrap up the title race and ruin our run-in.

Your community questions quiz us on the impact of the inevitable, and, in the light of doubts surrounding Eden Hazard’s prospects, we discuss merits of a swoop for his compatriot Kevin De Bruyne.

Elsewhere, we scrape the barrel for Manolo Gabbiadini alternatives up front and pull up the sofa cushions to hunt for some value in midfield.

This ScoutCast was first beamed live via our YouTube channel on Tuesday night. Be sure to subscribe to get notice of future live episodes.

Rotation risk for both those two if Chelsea secure the title next game.

I like Silva. In the last game it was Sane who had the most touches in and around the box though. Can you take a look at my post below yours please?

I went Alli to Sterling. I think City will score 3 in each home game. Even if Sterling only starts one, still dangerous off the bench when the game is stretched in the other.

I also have Vert and Kane so I'm not worried at all to sell Alli tbh... on the other hand I'm worried about Hazard gametime but I think City will score more.

To get Jesus I needed to downgrade Costa, Kane or Alli. Spurs have nothing to play for so Alli is hopefully the right decision. Kane might still back himself for Golden Boot.

Please help guys. My first season. Chasing leader in ML, 30 points behind. Both of us have BB.

    My team 0 itb:
    Pick, Caballero
    Yosh, Stephens, Alonso, Monreal, Davies
    Haz, Sanchez, King, Sane, Alli
    Jesus, Kane, Gabb

    His team:
    Jaku, Caballero
    Cedric, Yosh, Alonso, Monreal, Davies
    Sanchez, Ox, Alli, Pedro, Abrighton
    Jesus, Kane, Gabb

Considering a -4 or -8 in a last win-or-bust try to catch him. Please give me your suggestions. Sanchez out? Kane out? KDB in? Alli to Albrighton and then Sane to KDB? Or maybe just Gabb to Llorente and pick a differential captain (like Kane)? etc...

Who would be your pick? Kane? BTW the ML leader has made two transfers this week for a hit, don't know if that changes your advice?

Looks like he needs to use his FT on Ox. Question is, who does he bring in? I bet he can't afford Haz, so you could keep him and hope he does something against WBA. Get rid of Gabb maybe? Llorente is a good shout event though he only play one game this week.

He´s already made two transfers for a hit this week. probably one of them was Ox for (maybe) King. Dont know the other but I think you're right that he wont have Haz.

30 points - as it stands your teams are similar so it would all go down to second guessing captaincy choice.
I d lose Alli Kane and Gabby for something 'punty'. Vardy is on fire right now, Ozil maybe. Anichebe as an enabler.
You have options but going in with 10 identical players makes 30 points a big ask. Making changes now also gives you a better chance for GW38 where picking identical teams is sure to cost you.
I write this as someone who defended 20-30 point leads the last 2 seasons, and being conservative cost rivals any chance of catching up.
      Good luck!

    Tough decision:

    My front eight:

    Sanchez ozil hazard eriksen king
    Kane Jesus gabbiadini

1 hazard to kdb for free. Play gabbi bench king
2 ozil and gabbi to kdb and vokes for -4 - play king, bench vokes, play him next week home to WHM
3 save transfer, play gabbi bench king
4 ozil to sane for free

Hard to predict. Everything depends on how Chelsea do against WBA. Fabregas has good form. Could easily get a couple of assists from him.

Davies has been cheap and reliable to me points wise the past few months. Cheap entry into pretty solid Spurs defence. Hearing talk of Rose return but i'm still keeping him.

So ive managed to reduce my potential -16 down to a 12 point hit. It now reads as:-
    Gibson,Gabriel,Tadic,Gabbiadini > Stephens,Gibbs,KDB,Anichibe

    leaving me with this
    DDG,Foster
    Alonso,Bailly,Yoshida,Stephens,Gibbs
    Sanchez,Hazard,KDB,Alli,Carroll
    Kane,Jesus,Anichibe

    BB active.
    how does that look?

Bit of an unorthodox question but I'll give it a go.

So I've noticed that other teams' TV hasn't been updated, some of the ones I've checked for example, one has Caballero who rose last night. His TV is 0.1m lower than it should.
Another guy has Monreal who rose 2 nights ago. His TV also hasn't risen 0.1m. Now my rival has Tekkers who dropped last night but his TV hasn't dropped by 0.1m

Trying to track his transfers so I'm wondering, when he does make a transfer, will his TV incorporate this 0.1m drop or will it stay 0.1m higher than it should be (provided he doesn't drop Tekkers in which case I'm not sure how I'll calculate the changes).

    Any insight available on this?
