The ScoutCast – Episode 231 – Eavesdrop

This is a very strange experience.

Denied the opportunity to host this week’s ScoutCast by BT’s shortcomings and with the Wildcard active, I am forced to join you and eavesdrop while my decision-making is torn apart by Andy, Jonty, Az and Luke. I have to admit, it’s pretty tortuous.

It’s like my hands are firmly fastened to the couch while the quartet lapdance* their critique around me. How I want to get “involved”.

Aside from appraising my “ill-timed” Wildcard, the boys tackle your other community questions.

They consider the Liverpool double-up, question whether midfield coverage can replace either Kane and Lukaku, debate whether Alonso is essential and then look at how fixtures can shape cheap defensive acquisitions.

I’m pretty sure they answer them all exactly as I would. In fact, listening back, they appear to justify my Wildcard for me. I can hardly wait for next week.

This ScoutCast was first beamed live via our YouTube channel on Tuesday night. Be sure to subscribe to get notice of future live episodes.

If you’re a traditional type, you can acquire the mp3 audio version via this link on the first player below, or take in the full visual experience via the second player below.

It's a risk. Hazard is back. I would say less than 50% chance to start

Wait for pressers dude. No one here knows. There are a few sites saying Conte will bench him and so do majority of the fans on the Chelsea forums.

No way hazard will be benched, he's been fit for 2 weeks and needs game time to improve sharpness for the big games coming up for the blues.. 60minutes atlesst!
Willian is likely to drop to the bench as I think Conte prefers Pedro.

In desperate need of advice, terrible start to the season:

    Foster
    Bertrand, Kolasinac, Jones
    Willian, Mkhi, Alli, Ramsey(75% chance)
    Lukaku, Lacazette, Mounie

    Dunk, Mee, T.Carrol

1.8 itb and no ft but open to hits!!!

I would hold but Willian and Ramsey are the ones to watch. You have players with decent fixtures so not worth taking a hit.

The three that missed international duty could always be "international duty injuries"
The ones that suddenly clear up when the PL returns. If Zouma doesn't start i think that increases lukakus appeal
I fancied Zouma to do a job on him

Anyone covered the topic getting in

    Alonso VS Bellerin?

Bellerin 1.1m cheaper and good fixtures but can Arsenal keep CS?

Alonso like having a midfielder who on free kicks Chelsea fixtures not bad.

Thoughts on captaining Mkhi over Lukaku?

Extra point for a goal, far higher goal involvement thus far and bonus potential looks superior (also niggling doubt after Romelu's penalty miss last GW)

Chicha and Antonio to Firmino and Brady – Yeah or Nah?

After spending much, not all, but a lot of the International Break planning to transfer out Antonio and Chicha, to a number of different players, I know find myself thinking I'll hold, but just thought I'd put it out there.

    Any thoughts welcome.

This is what I am starting to think. Despite the three Huddersfield clean sheets, it's not a bad fixture, is it!

Long term the later though. But not sure about this weekend – It'll be a long weekend if I make the transfers and Firmino blanks in the early kickoff.

        1. The Yorkshire Pirlo
          • 7 Years

I've got a Hudders defender so praying for a cleanie but I don't see it carrying on.

Kinda hoping for a City, Liverpool goalfest. Got Jesus, Salah and Firmino in the early k/o. Could go terribly wrong 🙁

But yeah, I'd hold for this week mate.

I've got Lowe. And with the transfers above in mind, I was planning to play him – clean sheet points and a cheeky penalty for him was my thinking. Keeping them two he's now on the bench!

I see a goalfest in the early kick off too, hence the Firmino transfer. I'd really like some City Coverage too. As it stands I just have Mane. I'm starting to back track on my transfers now.

Yeah, I've got Löwe too. Clean sheet and peno would be ideal!! Who knows what West Ham is going to turn up though.

It's such a tough call, if it's a high scoring game then Liverpool double up could be massive. It's paid off for me twice already this season.

Just go with your gut and good luck.

would people rather their bench did well, and you had the regrets of bench points, or all three bought in 2 pointers, and had the possibility of price drops from that?

love FPL psychology. The captain choice stuff is fascinating, with people tending to avoid captaining players who are playing early Saturday/Friday, or players who play for their own team, or players who don't cost much, regardless of prospects

It would be amazing... and I mean amazing if Kane got 2 points again this week.
Hopefully he will fall again and then I can bring him in

Howe could make a late decision on Nathan Ake [ankle] but Junior Stanislas [groin] looks set to miss out again. #AFCB
