Dugout Discussion – Brighton vs Stoke

Gameweek 12 comes to its conclusion at the Amex Stadium this evening as Brighton entertain Stoke at 8pm.

For the hosts, Pascal Gross has been the standout asset in Fantasy Premier League (FPL).

Sitting in over 19% of FPL squads, the playmaker has averaged 7.2 points per match (ppm) in front of his own fans – when on the pitch, he’s played a part in 83% of their home goals.

Four strikes in the Seagulls’ last three league outings have brought Glenn Murray (5.8) onto our radars as a potential budget frontman – over 112,000 acquired him for Gameweek 12.

Up against a defence that has conceded at least twice in six of their last eight, Murray is the most captained player for tonight’s encounter, handed the armband by 6,868 managers compared with Gross’ 3,904 backers.

The Potters’ two most popular players, Eric Choupo-Moting (5.8%) and Xherdan Shaqiri (5.3%), have struggled on their travels, with just an away assist between them (for the latter) in five road trips.

Yet the duo’s home form means that, overall, they’ve still averaged a decent 4.0 and 4.5 ppm respectively this season. And clashes with Palace and Swansea in the next three could warrant further attention for the midfield pair.

Brighton, though, have been fairly resilient at home – league leaders Manchester City, in a 2-0 win in Gameweek 1, are the only side to have scored more than one goal away to Chris Hughton’s men.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

Southampton may make Niasse look like God (assuming ban doesn't kick in...highly unlikely).

Lots.of folks still hold Swansea defenders...will be keen to see how Wilson does against them

Also if Sane were to be rested does Jesus come in for him? Or does Pep not trust Jesus on the wing.

I am aware of the Pep comments on this but Sane has been playing pretty much full matches for a few months now. IMO is well over due missing say every other game over the mad period.

Save the FT despite having Tammy I think. Looking to do:

    Lukaku + Ritchie + Davies to Morata + Pogba + Mee (-4)

No Chelsea will hurt me. Pogba can do the job I hope. Thoughts?

Lukaku has a plum fixture and now that Pogba's back, he'll have more chances to score too. I think you need to keep him in your team at least for the next 2 games and then evaluate the situation.

    Bottomed

Yet another -4 done! New team below ready for Next weekend after a quality week! 0.6m itb (Sterling and Jesus will probably exit in the coming game weeks depending on playing time etc).

    Elliot Pope

    Moreno Daniels Ward Jones Mbemba

    Pogba Salah Sterling Richarlison RLC

    Morata Jesus Aguero

I really like the flexibility of having RLC as well as one of my first 4 defenders on the bench (Especially with my City assets).

What would you do regarding Jesus/Aguero.

    ___ - Speroni

Have I ditched the wrong City midfielder?!

Had Sterling and Silva for a while and really fancied Sane - I dropped Silva so now have Sane and Sterling. Rationale for keeping Sterling was he is potentially more explosive and should score goals although I know he will be rotated more.

As soon as I made the swap though I really regretted losing Silva and wished I’d ditched Sterling instead. Looking forward to the congested fixture list I’m now worried Sterling will be dropped even more.

What do you think? This is only my second season playing FPL but I don’t recal Silva setting the world on fire last season - just chipped away with the odd goal and assist. I’ve seen people say Silva is not a great fantasy asset but he is having a good season so far.

    1. QuintonFortune25
      • 7 Years
      6 years, 5 months ago

Possibly. Sane and Silva are the most certain starters from those and Sterling less so but all three could easily start nearly every week. Sterling is still capable of outscoring Silva even with the occasional 20 minutes from the bench so wouldn’t worry about it too much.

Early Captain thoughts? Again is Kane or Lukaku for me! Form wise it should be Salah but Chelsea could be difficult!

    Think I’m going Harry!

Kane has burnt me so many times so I'm just going to stick it on him and let him burn everyone else.

Yeah, same! I’ve missed most of his hauls (think I’ve got like 1 of them)! Who’s you other options? Considering Lukaku or not own him?

Lukaku for me. He started scoring. Man U attacking much better with Pogba. Spurs struggle against weaker teams at home. It will change eventually but I just can't afford to have another captain blank.
