Watchlist Update – Fulham options on the rise as Hazard tops midfield charts

We have completed our update of the Watchlist ready for Gameweek 6.

After examining the best goalkeeping and defensive options earlier this week, we have run the rule over the midfielders and forwards.

Read ahead to find out how we’ve ranked each option.

Midfielders

Eden Hazard (£10.8m) has risen to the summit of this section of the Watchlist, displacing the previous leader Mohamed Salah (£13.0m). There is no doubting that the Chelsea man is in better form and his cheaper price-tag is also a deciding factor when differentiating between these two. However, Hazard does lose his Favourable Fixtures factor with Liverpool and Manchester United two of his next four opponents.

Meanwhile, Salah’s fixture difficulty goes in the opposite direction. With Gameweek 5’s trip to Tottenham Hotspur out of the way, he loses the Unfavourable Fixtures factor. Although, back-to-back matches with Chelsea and Manchester City in Gameweeks 7 and 8 stop him from having a favourable factor in this department. We should point out that the fact that Salah has dropped on the Watchlist does not mean we think he won’t do well against Southampton.

Sadio Mané (£10.0m) and Ryan Fraser (£5.7m) are two non-movers in third and fourth place respectively. The only change of factors between the pair is that loss of Unfavourable Fixtures for the Liverpool man. Given their points returns thus far in 2018/19, both players retain an A for form.

David Silva (£8.5m) rises slightly after his Gameweek 5 goal against Fulham and the continuation of appealing fixtures. We suspect he is one of the few Man City options to be favoured within the Pep Guardiola rotation policy, although we feel we need a few more weeks of Champions League football before we can take the Rotation Risk factor.

There is a welcome return to the Watchlist for Richarlison (£6.6m) who looks set to make his comeback from suspension against Arsenal this week. Even though he had scored three goals prior to his sending off in Gameweek 3, we’ve given him a B for his form. That is so we can reflect that negative score at Bournemouth. There is no doubting that the fixtures still favour Richarlison and his Everton team-mates with Arsenal, Fulham, Leicester and Crystal Palace to come in the next four Gameweeks.

The appeal of Hazard and a 10-point haul for Willian in Gameweek 5 have seen Pedro (£6.8m) drop a few places. We believe that he is still at risk of rotation in Maurizio Sarri’s Chelsea side. Furthermore, he was taken off with an injury in the Europa League on Thursday night, although the Blues’ manager has described it as “not very serious”. Meanwhile, a swing in the difficulty of Fulham’s fixtures sees potential bargain Andre Schürrle (£5.9m) climb up to eighth place.

Lucas Moura (£7.4m) drops a few places too with some of the cheaper midfield assets demonstrating better value. However, Spurs have now been graced with a Favourable Fixtures factor.

James Maddison (£6.6m) and Paul Pogba (£8.2m) are non-movers while Roberto Pereyra (£6.3m) drops to the bottom of the pile. Watford’s fixtures remain tough but he sticks around for on account of his form and shots in the box statistics.

Aaron Ramsey (£7.4m) drops off the list this week as the Arsenal midfield proves difficult to work out. The Gunners still have favourable fixtures but there is still uncertainty over the best starting XI. Meanwhile, Ramsey himself was poor against Newcastle and is still yet to register any attacking returns.

Forwards

Sergio Aguero (£11.4m) keeps his place at the top of the list for forwards. As we’ve already mentioned, Man City continue to have good fixtures and their talismanic striker is still involved in the goals. Much the same as with David Silva, we think Aguero will start in Gameweek 6 but we’ll need more data before bringing ourselves to remove the Rotation Risk factor.

Aleksandar Mitrovic (£6.8m) climbs the Watchlist for the same reason as Fulham colleague Schürrle. The Cottagers’ fixtures look very appealing in the coming weeks, especially for attacking returns. The Serbian still tops the league for shots on target and is behind only Aguero and Salah for total efforts on goal.

Up next is Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (£10.9m) as Arsenal’s fine run of fixtures continues. Alexandre Lacazette is certainly pushing to replace him but until the Frenchman has started more matches in succession we’re leaving Aubameyang on.

Callum Wilson (£6.3m) sits in fourth place. While he matches Aubameyang’s factors for a much lower price, we’ve left him below the Arsenal man. This is because Fraser offers a cheaper alternative for Bournemouth attacking returns in midfield whereas no such option exists for the Gunners.

Up next is two options set to feature at Old Trafford in Gameweek 6 in Romelu Lukaku (£11.0m) and Raúl Jiménez (£5.5m). Lukaku is still ranked second for shots on target and in the box among forwards and Man United still have great fixtures to rely on. Meanwhile, Wolves forward Jiménez ranks inside the top five accurate shots and total efforts on goal among forwards, making him a potential bargain given his price.

Wilfried Zaha (£7.0m) is up next as he combines consistent form with promising fixtures. However, we’ve put him below some of the aforementioned options as he is performing below them for underlying statistics thus far. Fantasy Football Scout members can read more about that in the Members’ Area.

Marko Arnautovic (£7.0m) is also in great form with three goals and an assist to his name this season. However, West Ham’s fixtures are still tricky with Chelsea, Man United and Spurs all set to visit the London Stadium in the next four Gameweeks. Furthermore, he still carries the injury tag after going off with a knock at Goodison Park in Gameweek 5.

Harry Kane (£12.5m) sinks down to ninth on the Watchlist, although he does benefit from the Favourable Fixtures tag, as is the case with team-mate Moura. Kane’s fall in stock can be attributed to the wealth of cheaper options all bettering him for underlying statistics over the first five Gameweeks.

Completing the set is Glenn Murray (£6.5m) who now has four goals this season, as many as Mitrovic. He and the Fulham man are the only forwards priced under £7.0m to have reached that tally thus far. The fixtures aren’t particularly favourable or unfavourable for Brighton in the coming weeks. It’s Spurs and Man City up next but then it’s West Ham and Newcastle after that.

PPG is 5, only 3 less total than Wilson

The clamor to get rid of him a few weeks ago was deafening.

Granted, if I was getting a Bournemouth striker now it would be Wilson.

Totally struggling here. The only player I really need/ want to get rid of is Wally, Pedro now looks at risk (although he’s busy tweeting he’s fine) but the player I am scared to be without is Hazard. I think the following are my only feasible options

    A) Mané, Wally > Hazard, Fraser (-4)
    B) As above but Pedro out instead of Wally
    C) Wally > Fraser (FT)
    D) Pedro > Fraser
    E) Wally, Pedro > Fraser, Richarlison (-4)
    F) Suck up my fears, bench Wally and hope that Pedro and Mendy play - save FT

    1FT £0.3itb
    Foster
    Alonso, Mendy, Robbo, PVA
    Salah (C), Mané*, Pedro*, Wally*
    Aguero, Wilson
    (Fab) (Hughes, AWB, Kamara)

Leaning towards A) or B) and would then lose Pedro/ Wally for Rich next week. E) brings two decent players but then loses CHE attacking returns

    Help!?
    Thanks

Yes I could but likelihood is if Haz hauls again then I’ll truly be points chasing getting him next week.

What would you do? C) or D?

Well I guess Pedro more at risk but reading the player ratings tonight he had a stormer and the Chelsea fans prefer Pedro over Willian it seems. I'd hold for the pressers. I'd rather have Pedro than Wally. You could bench Pedro for this week and play AWB. Asses it

I rage sold Walcott for Fraser, very unlike me to do that and it's ended up costing me big time. I'm worried about Haz too but he's not as good away and isnt playing Cardiff. Mane is just as capable

Agree with your first paragraph and will prob lose Wally rather than Pedro who is good even from the bench.

Don’t get why doing Wally > Fraser has cost you big time??

    Patricio
    Mendy Robertson Alonso
    Salah(C) Bilva Walcott Fraser
    Zaha Mitro Kun
    Fab WanB Boly Stephens

    A) Walcott > Richarlison (-4)
    B) Bilva > Dilva (-4)
    C) Wildcard, would bring in Hazard.

    I have had the biggest faceplant moment. This is my first time playing the game and currently on wc. I have been told that I need to try and make team value during the early stages of the wc. I didn't know what I was doing and ended up doing the exact opposite, I did the following;

    Sold Robbo (-0.1),
    Kun (-0.2)
    Ings (-0.1)

thinking I could them all back before the lockout. I thought the idea was to selll the players not going up this gw and swap them for players that are likely to go up, I now know better, not to sell players I have made a profit on. All up ended up decreasing my team value by 0.4. and now I can't have the team I first wanted lol.

    I was looking at doing

    two 4.5 keepers
    Alonsa, Robbo, Mendy, Doherty, Wan
    Salah, Frazer, Hazard, billing, Madd/rich
    Kun, Ings, Mitrovic

Due to my screw up, now I am looking at,

    two 4.5 keepers
    Alonsa, Robbo, Mendy, Bennett, Wan
    Salah, Frazer, Hazard, Hojb, rich/madd
    Aubo?, Ings, Mitrovic

Dang. You kinda want to keep Kun. maybe look at downgrading Robertson as fixture gno turn? also wait for Mendy news.

Ouch. I feel your pain. You could just go with one 4.5 keeper and a 4 to claw back 0.5. Rotating keepers never works for me anyway.

That sucks mate. Don't beat yourself up about it though.

This is going to be left field but I think now would be a good time to get Vardy in. He's got great fixtures coming up, 100% nailed and saves you some cash.

      I'd go Richarlison.

      1. SuperKante

Yeah, I was thinking about going for a cheaper forward, was also looking at lacazette to free up some cash. I really wanted a city forward or mid, have to play around to see how I can fit it all in.

Yeah, I am learning toward rich due to being an Everton supporter but he has had 4 shots for 3 goals not sure how sustainable that will be in the long term.

If you've only just added Mendy and paid his current price it may be worth bringing Walker in this week as he's a more secure starter, you can always then add Mendy afterwards. I think you need a City attacking option going into this GW also. Downgrade one of the premium Defenders or Salah?

      1. SuperKante
        • 5 Years
        5 years, 7 months ago

I am going to keep Salah for now and I have had Mendy from the start. but defs looking into getting a city attacking option. maybe will have to make room kun in some way or even look into trying to get dslica by downgrading aubo to lazazetta and robbo/mendy to a cheaper defender.

        Thanks for the advice

Ive come full circle here (a long WC week).

    Do I go
    A. Hennessey / Patricio 9m
    B. Ryan / Button 8.5m

That extra 0.5m gives me scope to switch to any mid other than Salah or any forward including Kane.

    Does this look GTG?

    Mkhitaryan -> Maddison for free...

    Fab/Foster
    Alonso, Robertson, AWB
    Salah, Mane, Fraser, Maddison
    Aguero (C), Mitrovic, Arnie.

Bench: Mendy (assuming he’s still out) Stephens, Peltier.

If Mendy is out for more than a couple gws, would you recommend a hit if you had Bennett away at Utd coming in? Other sub is Holgate, a disaster. Could fix this next week for a free though, so not sure if it’s worth risking someone like Trippier scores a 6 or more in just one game. Correct?

Don't take the hit this week

Bennet 1 pointer likely. Therefore Trippier risk he will get 5 pts 50 50.
At least you have him for upcoming good fixtures.

I have the same issue with Schlupp and Bennett on the bench but don't think its worth the hit as defender needs a return to break even. What's your other Def?

Alonso, WB happy with those two hence leaning towards no hit

Sit Arnie and Mendy, or leave them as starters?

I have Van Aanholt and Wan-Bissaka (in that order) to come of the bench as replacements.

Probably radical, but pedro played 90 mins in the europa league, worth shipping out for a hit as i have Hazard and Alonso already?

Not for a hit. Willian also played 90 mins so it's anyone's guess who starts. He will feature at some point and he scored last time he came off the bench so not worth a hit to take him out

Willian played 90 too so it's a toss-up which one will start this week.

    Ederson hamer
    Luiz robbo Bavies Pereira Obi-Wan
    Salah haz Walcott Bilva odoi
    Laca arnie jimenez
    2ft 0itb

WC in 3gw, so as a punt would you:

    A) Walcott to richarlison
    B) downgrade Bavies to Bennet and do Bilva to Dilva
    C) downgrade Bavies to Bennet and do Walcott to Pogba

    Thanks

Walcott and Davies are your priorities.

I'd consider change in structure. Fraser and Bennet? Does that get Laca to Aguero or Lukaku in GW7?

I have Auba for this weekend. Does his playing today (and Laca's not playing), affect his chances of getting significant minutes on the weekend (sorry, was at work if this has already been discussed). Can swing a transfer to Lukaku if it is felt the Auba will not be playing, or his role will be reduced, but for a -4, would that be worth it, or hold?
    Thanks!

Thanks guys! Just making sure, Lukaku's fixtures look so good and he is a real flat-track bully, but I have held onto Auba this long may as well see it out. If Auba squanders it this weekend, will make the move for free next week. Thanks for the help, greatly appreciated.

    Foster (Pickford)
    Alonso Mendy Rob AWB (Doherty)
    Salah Mané Pedro Rich (Cairney)
    Kun Tosun (Kamara)

    2FT 0itb
What moves are most necessary this week?
    A) Pedro + Tosun > Maddison + Wilson

    B) A + Pickford > Hennessy -4 (avoid Pickford price drop)

    C) Pedro + Tosun + Cairney > Maddison + Wilson + Fraser -4

I like choice A, no need for a hit this week to deal with Cairney, as you have Doherty coming off the bench for Mendy if he does not play. Personally do not like taking a hit to address a GK situation.
