Richarlison has spent the last two weeks as the centre-foward in Marco Silva’s Everton team, which has affected his Fantasy Premier League potential.

      Not convinced Richarlison (even on the left) will do anything against Brighton
      And why drop fraser, he's about to play two of the worst teams in the next 3 ?
      Patricio to Ryan could be worth it as wolves fixtures tend to be harder

    What are everyone’s thoughts on Lovren, Luiz/Rüdiger & Laporte as cheaper alternatives to Robertson, Alonso & Mendy?

    Can these guys match or be better value than the more expensive full backs?

    If you can’t afford all 3 which one would you sacrifice for the cheaper alternative?

    Personally I feel Laporte is the best cheaper alternative but then he’s only 0.5m cheaper than Mendy and I think that 0.5m extra spending is worth it given his attacking threat.

      I started the season with Bailly and Luiz and thought it would work. It doesn't. I now have a back 5 full of fairly nailed on attacking full backs from teams with clean sheet potential. I think this is still the best way to go.

      The real issue is what you do with the saved pennies and how you upgrade elsewhere. Given the lack of options at present, I wouldn't cheapen your D.
      Remember, RAM brings in returns at both ends and that is what you pay for.

      Only one who could match. Assist/bonus returns of Mendy and Robertson have been continuous while Alonso hasn’t done anything for ages.

        Fair enough, but a premium defender like Robbo Alonso Mendy Trippier will, when considered for captain, playing at home against a team outside the top 6. They get attack points 50% of the time, likely to get bonus and goals are 6 points.
        Take Kun last week. He scored whih was expected. scores more than 1 goal about 10% of the time. Look at the historical numbers and you will see a defender is viable. As was Mendy last week.

    nice article! One question, as i'm just started looking at xg, xga etc - i'm late i know : aren't the fixtures a big part of this too ? GW 6-7 he played Fulham (xga 20.48) & arsenal (xga 12.04) & GW8-9 he played Leicester (xga 11.76) & crystal palace (xga 13.50). If you would compare his stats for GW8&9 vs GW1&2 - where combined xga of the opponents (25.25 vs 23.85) are alot closer - there isn't much difference imo. Or is this not how to apply this ? 🙂
