FFS Cup

The latest FFScout fixtures and results

The Fantasy Football Scout Cup competitions are preparing to go into full swing ahead of a busy week of matches.

We’re here to bring you the latest from the public FFScout Cup and the FFScout Members Cup too.

At this point we’d like to issue a formal warning that, due to the disastrous nature of Gameweek 13, this article may not necessarily make for comfortable reading…

Public FFScout Cup

The trials and tribulations of Gameweek 13 wreaked havoc on Fantasy Football Scout staff and a handful of former winners in the opening round of the FFScout Cup.

No fewer than four ex-champions were dumped out of the competition at the first hurdle.

Scoutcast and Breakfast Club contributor J0e will perhaps feel the most upset as he missed out on the second round by just one point, defeated 32-31 by stripeless.

Wild Rover lost 50-33 to Christobisto, Leon Harris was seen off 49-47 by cobblers304 and 2EyedTurk suffered a 50-40 defeat at the hands of Harvard.

Meanwhile, editor DavidMunday815 and community manager Geoff also saw their terrible Gameweeks write off any chance of a cup-run. The former losing 53-35 to Tottispicks, the latter to Roger C by a 51-37 scoreline.

But it wasn’t all doom and gloom as our glorious leader Mark‘s 60 points was enough to see him fight another day in the cup.

Maverick Scoutcaster D1sable also triumphed over srini venkat with a score of 37-35.

Alongside him were five other former champions who sealed their passage to the second round.

A Manager Has No Name beat Alan the Llama 50-45, Ninja_Fit_Saints emerged victorious from a 45-37 match-up with Dugarry 21 and MCH slugged it out with Madeinireland to win 45-43.

donnellyc and Gribude complete the list of ex-champions in the next round as they saw off River Template (69-45) and MARTINB (43-37) respectively.

It was also good news for the two members of the world’s top 100 managers as both Sir Oux, ranked 15th, and High as a Keita won their cup ties.

The full list of results from the first round can be FOUND HERE.

FFScout Members Cup

The long-awaited first round draw of the 2018/19 FFS Members Cup took place this week and we can reveal some of the stand-out fixtures that have been arranged.

Over 1,728 managers applied for the 512 places available in the first round draw, with the Gameweek 13 qualifying score is set at 45 (after hits) and an overall rank of 6,101 or better needed for those hitting that total exactly.

Goo was the lucky manager who scraped through the qualifying round in 512th place.

Such was the fallout from Gameweek 13 that just three former winners made it through the preliminary round.

Fuzzy Dunlop, currently ranked 51,354, faces a tough test against Blakouk who sits in 17,929 worldwide.

Malaikat Jihad, with an overall rank of 1,627,496, faces 40,942 ranked DavidG whjile rrcmc (33,959) must do bttle wirth shiregeriatrics (28,749).

Three managers in the world’s top 100 preparing for the first round include Sir Oux and High as a Keita, as well as 21st-place Ulrich Steinschweiger. They will face off against Iaoshi (28,400), Dele Alli Oxenfree! (433,860) and dkonis (22,480).

Maybe use one FT and decide your double move next monday.

        For example: Mane > Sane

Who would you prefer this week?

      A. Sane/Martial
      B. Hazard/Barkley or Richarlison
      C. Hazard/Barkley replacement

      2FTs & 0.3 in bank

      FAB
      Robertson, Alonso, Duffy, Doherty, AWB

The answer is obviously replace Barkley. With whom though is a such a headache. Robbo -> TAA, Barkley -> Martial/Siggy is ok on paper, but may be you want to make other moves next week that include that Spurs lump up top so just use one transfer this week.

Thanks for the response. You are right, Barkley is causing me the problem and feel I need to use one as you say to make the necessary moves next week. Could take the chance and just do Haz>Sane this week.

Is it better to get Trippier on WC with a strong bench to cover up for his inevitable no show or just get Lloris set and forget?

Think Sterling is a better long term option than Sane but cant afford him without a hit. Which one is better?

      A Mane to Sane
B Play Mane this GW, then Hazard to Sterling in GW15

Depends. Sterling could play this week and be benched the next. Same thing goes for Sane. I'd probably go B though and take it on the chin if Sterlimg is benched for the next game

Aguero and sterling tend to be all or one so you could leave the VC on salah. It's the Mereyside derby and anything can happen. All other three comfortably better options. Only hazard may prove problematic as if he doesnt start, he probably comes on

      Alisson Hamer
      Robbo Alonso Doherty AWB Duffy
      Salah Sterling Rich Fraser Masuaku
      Aguero Arnie Jiminez

Do you think Salah and Rich to Hazard and Sane is worth a minus 4? It looks good to me, but would also mean another minus 4 next week if I want Kane. I dont plan on captaining Salah any time soon.

Can see Hazard not starting on Sunday.

      Woth a -4 for either Sterling/Sane?

Can afford both. Both planning to be in my team soon anyway, think Sane slightyl more likely to start as taken off after 70min mid-week?

      1. Superflymonk
        • 9 Years
        5 years, 4 months ago

There are no guarantees that Hazard will be benched and Sterling or Sane will start. Your move could backfire if Hazard gets a brace and one of the city mids is rested. I think for free is safe, doing it for a -4 could get you a massive red as Hazard is still the most highly owned mid in fpl.

Not confirmed he will start, missed mid-week due to injury (but yes, probably would have been rested anyway).
