FPL Question Time – Consult our panel ahead of Gameweek 38

For the final time this season, we are taking your questions to put to our panel.

Gameweek 38 will round-up the 2018/19 season on Sunday afternoon but there is still plenty on the line for Fantasy managers.

If you’re looking for the scoop on the players to sign or shift, or perhaps a differential tactic, then you’ve come to the right place.

Who’s on the panel this week?

Always Cheating Podcast – The USA’s number one FPL podcast, hosted by Brandon and Josh, who is currently inside the top 2,000 ahead of Gameweek 38.

Gregor – One of our very own mods, who currently sits at 36k overall and has finished inside the top 1,000 in three of the last five seasons.

Simon March – Fantasy Premier League champion from the 2014/15 season and now a regular pundit on FFScout and the FPL Show.

    Robertson over TAA on wildcard (and thus not being able to afford Laporte) - the worst FPL decision I’ve ever made in terms of outcome.

    Minimum 40 points impact 😮

      I chose to get Sane (Hazard out) & TC in gw 25 instead of Aguero (Auba out) 😕
      Cost me 100 points around 3 gw's 🙁
      Still recovering from that blow.

      I feel you. That sounds similar to me getting Monreal ahead of TAA in order to get Firmino as my 3rd Pool player from GW36 onwards. Worked out nicely ... not.

      Getting Dunk - Ryan on WC DGW34, then sell them both for Yoshida and Foster GW35..

      cost me 12 points on that GW35 alone

    Playing h2h, rival has Salah (C) but no Kun. I have Mane and Kun.

    What is better option?
    A. Replace Mane with Salah for free and C Salah.
    B. Keep Mane and C Kun

      Depends if you think the rest of your team is better than his. If yes, A sounds like the right decision to block his massive Salah differential. Otherwise you should gamble on Agüero outscoring Salah.

      I'm going for Bilva or a City def in 38. If I opt for a def it will be Laporte or Walker for me.

          Laporte flavour of the month and for good reason but Walker has been passing the eye test, has an assist or 2 in him and compares well for bps.

    & Don't want to do a Defender transfer atm at least.

    Is it worth it to replace Robbo for someone for a hit ?? No budget limitations !!

      If Robbo is out I will either have to forego my Brooks to Redmond plan or decide if Laporte (-4) outscores Doherty this GW. Really hard to justify a hit for a defender this GW.

      In terms of Soton I suspect the gaffer will want to go back to his strongest XI and sign out with a win.

        I have lined up Midfielder to Redmond transfer for sure.
        Double Southampton Defense would be too much though. Or should i leave it as it is ??

      Many good options.. Lucas, Townsend, Babel, B.Silva in midfield. Arnie, Wilson, Rondon, Zaha up front. I'd be most tempted by Lucas and Arnie.

    Plan was to do Son & Jim to B.Silva & Zaha before Suarez decided to start kicking Robbo.

    If Robbo isn't for for the weekend how about these moves?
    Robbo & Son to TAA & B.Silva for free.

    Will have to start one out of Jimenez or Jota.
    Surely not worth selling them for a hit?

        Yeah thats what I was thinking too.
        These injuries and suspensions are just making my team weaker.

        Cant go without TAA now he's too highly owned.
        They just kept a CS against Barca and he's assisting for fun.

            They are too good mate.
            We dont have that kind of quality and literally need to change more than half of our squad.
            Think we will need to wait for atleast 2-3 years before we can to their level.

    Looking to transfer Son out.
    Currently Im thinking either A) Pogba or B) Sigurdsson.

    CAR have the worst form in the league and Pogba gets more points for MUN than anybody else, but MUN form isnt great either.

    Meanwhile in terms of in form vs out of form, EVE vs TOT has the biggest disparity this gameweek so Sigurdsson seems a good shout. But on paper TOT are a stronger team.

    Any thoughts?

    Better to spend funds on upgrading to get Laporte (should get clean sheet, maybe more?)

    Or gray to Vardy. Chelsea are hopeless away and not much to play for
