Thinking of wildcarding to get Salah in alongside Haaland.

Raya to Verbruggen (or whoever we deem the best 4.5)
    Quansah to Trent
Porro to Rico Lewis (might catch a couple of price rises and switch to a 4.5)
    Saka to Salah
    Garnacho to Semenyo
    Isak to Havertz

    Gives me:

    Verbruggen, Valdimarsson
    Saliba, Robinson, Trent, Lewis, Harwood-Bellis
Salah, Jota, Rogers, Smith Rowe, Semenyo
    Haaland, Havertz, Joao Pedro

    Thoughts?

That's 4 Liverpool. Robbo to ARS or Jota to maybe Eze.

Managed to get the big hitters all in one Wildcard:

    Raya (Fab)
    Konate, mazraoui, livramento, keane, faes
Salah, Palmer, semenyo, smith rowe, winks
    Haaland, Havertz, Woods

    0.9mil in the bank

Defence is naff but to be honest i think only New, Ars, Liv look like the trio to keep clean sheets this season.

ESR get rid. I have Wood. He's not staying if I'm on WC but I'm saving for 6 to get Arsenal back. Brighton 2 good fixtures. Brentford good fixtures soon. 3rd mid is 5.5 level. Is Palmer worth that imbalance?

yh im planning on getting Wood just hoping to make some money off Pedro price rises.

Not a fan. The defense is awful.

Wood's fixtures are bad now, ESR looks a fairly weak pick. Rogers + Pedro are the template options and are cheaper and I'd argue better.

If I wanted cheap def I'd probably go Robinson, Lewis, Konsa, Livra, Keane. But I think TAA is necessary considering the fixtures and his underlyings.

But yeah, I'd like the challenge of making a Salah, Palmer, Haaland team work. I've been looking at drafts but not happy with any so far.

okay let me challenge you this... your defenders have gotten you 12, 19, 16 in the last 3 weeks...Salah, Palmer and Haaland have gotten that much each in single gameweeks.

lol why is everyone so focused on the defence when each of palmer/haaland/salah have got 17 points in the past 2 weeks.
3 defenders together are unlikely to get that each week.

Because the defense is still 3 positions on the team. And you can do better than the guys you got.

true but captains basically make a massive difference each week. If you can at least have half of the points of the haulers each week if people captain them then that would make up for the lack of a strong defence... No one will be captaining trent

you missed my point.... if I can at least get the points of the Haulers that people captain (hence doubled) then I feel thats a good tactic if I get the captain wrong

Camzy et al aren’t going to supplement you points if you follow their advice and end up losing points against players you wanted to get in but were talked out of.

    2) Murphy to Eze/Mitoma/Diaz and Saka to Son next week (no funds for Salah)

    3) Wood to JP and Saka to Salah next week (taking Murphy price drop)

The stats say they're the 4th best defense for xGC and they've played City as one of their games. Palace created very little against them and their goal was a low xG shot from outside the box by Eze.

This is the best I could do for a triple premium draft.

    Sanchez 4.0
    TAA Robbo Robinson Greaves Mosquera
    Salah Palmer Mbeumo Semenyo Rogers
    Haaland Pedro 4.5

I don't think you can even get this unless you bought a few of the players at less than their current price.

    Roll in 5, GW6 Palmer + Robbo > Gabriel + Saka.

I'm theorycrafting WCs and possible setups.

This year the pricing is super good so you can build like 3 different team structures and still have them look broadly similar in potential.

Big at the back, more in attack, double premium, triple premium, no Haaland, budget defense. I've enjoyed building lots of different possible teams and seeing which setup is most appealing.

Here I'm trying triple premium. I've also got a no Haaland draft which I think is genuinely really good and competitive.

            1. Atimis

              What about:

              4.5/4.0
              TAA/Robo/4.5/4.5/4.0
              Salah/Eze/Semenyo/Minteh/Rogers
              Haaland/Isak/Pedro

GW6 you can do Eze Isak to Mbeumo Havertz leaving some ITB to upgrade one of the mids/defs before GW7

Yeah I like it but we're talking about different team setups.

My challenge with this one was to build a triple premium that's viable.

I think that any draft with Haaland, Salah and Palmer will be awful. Team will be unbalanced and you have to rely on such assets as Rogers or Semenyo, then if they fail to produce you do not have in fact any options which may you use to replace them.

Agree. You can have 2 x 7.5m vs someone with Palmer and Winks say or worse a red dot 4.5m forward. There's enough performing around the 7.5 mark I know which I prefer

Yeah it's imbalanced because of the triple premium. You just gotta roll with the few low priced gems and hope they keep up with the 7.5m tier.

I'm talking Semenyo, Rogers, Pedro. If they can perform close to Mbeumo, Havertz, Jota, Eze level players then this works. But I'm really not confident that they can.

yes but the captaining of a player that will return 35 points plus a 15 point from the other premiums will out do the 8 points you'll get from an mbuemo/gordon/bowen

I think you play Porro every week if you have him regardless of the fixture. Always a threat to get attacking points.

Yes but most of the ones ahead of you have already played at least one chip, likely the TC in Haaland in GW2, so it’s skewed the figures for now.

Villa had a difficult opening start, now their fixs ease up, this is the period where Rogers probably gets his returns.

Everton just conceded 3 at home to Bournemouth & 4 away to Spurs.

As an owner of both I think Rogers not returning yet isn't his fault necessarily and I can see it improving whereas I'm coming to the conclusion Muniz has had plenty of chances against pretty limited opposition and he just doesn't look very good.

Yeah, I think Rogers has been unlucky, he’s created but they weren’t finished, at 5m an assist here & there is achievable & all you can ask for.

It’s looking more and more like Muniz just hit a Zakiesque purple patch,

They’ve rejected it, offer is too small, think there would be a real decision to be made if it was 50m though.

Sterling can play right & left, so can Jesus, they’d have to get to Jan, Jesus being injured makes it a non starter.

I assume you must have some money to play with looking at these changes? I might be wrong, its Monday and my maths might not be there but it looks at first glance as though its similar prices for similar prices but Pedro is more expensive than Rogers. In which case no I'd just do the two who might make a difference and the two you mentioned as being an issue to you (Gordon & Son to Saka and Diaz).

Don't get Saka until 6. Keep Rogers. Iroegbunam is pointless and not worth 0.5 saving on Rogers. Robinson is good long term hold. Lewis could be benched any week

Wood owner, just don’t see it.

Liverpool is tough (plan to bench him) but after that Brighton, Fulham, Chelsea, Palace & Leicester are not the worst for an attacker.

JWP coming in also raises his stock because the service to him from set pieces will improve.

      1. Zenith UK
        • 9 Years

Literally my thought process. Brighton have conceded in two out of three games (the clean sheet was vs EVE - not exactly known for their attacking prowess), Fulham have conceded in all three games (one of which was to newly promoted IPS), Chelsea... there's a reason Sanchez only has 5 points after three games and not a single defender more than 4, then Palace, Leicester and West Ham. The guy is so clinical and could've easily had 3 goals this weekend (including the offside disallowed goal)

I’m on a WC and want to sell him but I just can’t do it, I even checked his stats for guidance and they are almost identical to Havertz & up there with everyone not named Erling.

I don’t know why he’s not more popular.

            • 9 Years

I can't remember the exact statistic but someone on he wrote something like he has the most non-penalty goals out of all forwards except for Haaland since August last year or something

^ Don't quote me on that it was a stat ALONG those lines.

What is correct is that he had a 32% conversion rate last year... and is at 22% this year (66% of shots are on target)

      2. Tommy Template
        • 11 Years

I think that Liverpool, Brighton and Chelsea are pretty bad fixtures compared to what they've had which is where the turn comment comes in. And to be honest they don't look like a team capable of scoring loads of goals in nice fixtures either so against better defences they look bad fixtures.
