Different sort of question. Can someone explain the appeal of owning Leif Davis of Ipswich?

He'll bring in the odd attacking return and when he does you'll feel like a genius.

I’ve heard a couple creators talking about him and wanted more opinions. And so far I agree, he doesn’t seem worth it at 4.5, regardless of fixtures.

      He's got incredible attacking threat.

Doughty got 2g 6a in Lutons promotion season.

Leif Davis got 2g 18a. And the season before that in League 1 he got 14.

I see the appeal. And the first two games he played were vs City and Liv so kind of the worst possible fixtures. It gets easier from here and I think I would probably have him on a WC.

Whilst I’m not going for him I see the appeal. In a time where very few clean sheets are being kept particularly outside the top 3, attacking returns become key for a defender. Arguably isn’t a 4.5m in the game that has shown his level of attacking threat from last year. Don’t watch championship you opinion purely formed on the numbers.

People love it when their defender gets an attacking return and also love to have a differential. I guess people are thinking Ipswich will look better against non-top 2 competition.

Ignorant premier league only fans that can’t be bothered to do the research.

Will get assists. Will concede plenty. No different to Robinson or similar in terms of why you’d pick up but has more set pieces

The trouble with looking at his output last season (and in the one before) is it was in a side that only lost 6 games and if we're being honest they'll do well to win 6 games in the Premier League.

forgetting anything else about team structure, it'd be foolish to go without 1 10mil+ mid spot right? If you don't have this price point would it be your priority

    1. AnarChYs7
      • 12 Years

Not sure I’d employ this sort of logic. You want at least one or two consistent captaincy options, and then just the best value for the remaining money all across the pitch while keeping minimally priced playing options on the bench.

That being said, I’m assuming said captaincy option has to be Haaland in your case. I’d just think about GWs 5 and 13.

        • 11 Years

cheers. yeah its haaland. Value for money for sure is a good argument, just a shame to be missing out on the potential purple patches of Palmer/Saka/Foden/KDB for the time being.

The counter to this is that who is providing best value for money changes very frequently. So when you have 4-5 candidates who all stand a good chance of providing value at any given time you want a structure that allows you to move between them easily. Otherwise very likely to end up taking hits as a result of chasing the structure that provides the best value at any given time.

Contrary to anarchy I think there is some logic to this idea. Your ideal team at any point in time is likely to include AT LEAST one of Saka, Palmer, Foden and Son. So ask yourself how long are you realistically going to be happy to hold off on all 4. If the answer is not very long at all you might as well build that into your structure.

I did do that, and did it before the price rise so couldn't change it even if I wanted to.

The reasoning was that Welbeck was ahead on the stats and within 10 mins play time across the three games.

Is Antonee Robinson playing for the USA in 2 meaningless friendlies over this break? It's interesting to note how much more rest players like Isak and Haaland will get after returning versus the players in the Americas, much worse for the latter.

Thanks man. People post here to get information, Robinson is one of my starting defenders. International duty and workload and who has it and who doesn't is a fair and reasonable discussion. Knowing Robinson won't play is nice information. I promise you that nobody cares about any of your FPL dilemmas either. Nobody cares who your 8th attacker is, nobody cares what transfers you want to make either. "I wouldn't worry" about anything you think about either. I'll check out google next time.
