    1) Am I right benching Cunha (new) and playing Wood (LIV)?

    2) Are any of these worth a transfer? Have got 1 FT and 1.7 ITB

    A) Konsa > Hall/Munoz
    B) Cunha > Mateta/Raul

    Raya
    TAA Gabriel Robinson
    Salah Palmer Gordon Amad Rogers
    Isak Wood

Best route to bring in Mbeumo?
    A) Diaz > Mbeumo
    B) Cunha + Enzo > Mbeumo + Raul (-4)
    C) Wait 1 week and then do B

    OMG

Just got in & heard 3hrs before kickoff Sean Dyche sacked,
very shocked on the timing of the decision before an important game
    https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/c0479zvq1gzo

Only manager short-term if actually missed out on Graham Porter is
    David Moyes

    ---

They have a game in hand after the Liverpool game call off in GW15,
I know results not been great losing last two but four results previously
    were good.

    Wolves (H) (W) 4-0
    ---
Good results against bigger sides at the moment
    Arsenal (A) (D) 0-0
    Chelsea (H) (D) 0-0
    Man City (A) (D) 1-1
    ---
Form teams of this season from the so call little sides
    Nottingham Forest (H) (L) 0-2
    Bournemouth (A) (L)1-0

    ---

I think the result which swayed & put the writing on the wall was
the home game two up to Bournemouth & losing 2v3 in the last 10 mins,
for several season lacked a goals scorers but against the odds last
season with massive points deductions kept Everton up - I felt
they needed someone who knows Everton & can keep them up
until new stadium next season - don't wish for other things as this could backfire.

Style of play is not great but have a very good defence.

I was there during the mid eighties
        Great memories
We are a long way from that team now
But in my opinion with the right owners & management in place & given the size & stature of the club
We have the potential to be like Villa or Newcastle in a few years time

Everton had the 9th highest net spend in world football between 2017 and 2022, above Barcelona, Chelsea and Liverpool. When avoiding relegation by finishing 17th in the 2022/23 season they still had a top half wage bill, which played a large part in their 2 points deduction last season. One of the biggest financial under achievements in football history.

Slap dash spending on average players, giving them ludicrous wages has cost us dearly. Horrendous recruitment and money management.

True story. My worst transfers this season have been when trying to do something for the sake of it, the tiniest miniscule improvement if it worked which it didn't, rather than looking at the team, thinking fine nothing needed here.

My worst transfer of the year was Isaak out after his 23 minute (injury) I thought he was going on one of his sideline spells and used the money to upgrade to Saka. Needless to say, I'm down big on that move and got Isaak back last week.

Question for Everton fans. There seems to be a lot of love for Big Duncan Ferguson. Now that he's had 2-3 interim spells in charge is there any chance the team would be willing to give him a chance to lead? I'm just curious as to why it seems that he sticks around and is always up for the job when they are in trouble but never just flat out given him the reins.

    1. Pumpkinhead
      • 11 Years

I'm not saying he is the best manager for the job but if they are trying to build something long term maybe it's the route to go to get the fans back + the high profile hires haven't stuck around. Hard to build a winning team without any consistency in leadership.

This also makes Pickford and Everton defenders terrible picks most likely. They are awful offensively, good luck to whoever is supposed to take them over and get anything out of them.

Everton defence had already started turning bad. But, it would have come back strong again towards the end of the season.

I still think its stupid they sacked Dyche. Not sure they realise just how bad their attack is. No manager in the world is getting those guys to score.

Ndiaye is a good player though.

The sacking was justified, they were only out of the relegation zone on clean sheets because they can't score. It started looking like they may start conceding more often now and the board had to act.
