  1. Four-time top 50 finisher's team reveal and guide to picking a Sky Fantasy XI 1 day, 4 hours ago

No goal threat. In general, if there are defenders out there with similar chances of clean sheets but also with goal threat, why get players without the goal threat? This is true whether looking at the same price bracket or otherwise. You don't have to own a 4.5m defender after all. Aside from that, generally, I think people avoid 'doubling up', and see Tierney as much superior value, quite rightly in my opinion. Though I wouldn't be against doubling necessarily, usually. However, at the 4.5 price, people might be looking for rotation options, and you can't rotate White with Tierney if you wanted to, and perhaps White doesn't rotate well with other popular options? You might not want to rotate him, but I personally don't want any set options in the XI week-in, week-out who look like getting 2-7 points per week. It's not enough for any price! For me, personally, my main reason would actually be that I might want 3 Arsenal players in my team at some point, and White is unlikely t… » Read

Do people expect him to be replaced by Firmino? Isn't it likely he'll continue to get game time and starts regardless, either in rotation or with all 4 attackers playing together? I'm not up to speed, but I thought that's what was happening last season when he was fit. » Read

For me the decision is easily B, but a huge part of that is Havertz' fixtures. Simply not worth considering imo. Although, again, you've got different positions there, so I'm going to assume you have a 4.5m MID in A vs a 4.5 FOR in B, makes B a less obvious option, and requires an understand of your whole team (including the bench). Tentatively, B » Read

Different positions, so you're trading more than just 1m. It's important to consider the player combinations imo. That said, I would say that Watkins is likely to prove better value than Buendia over the season, using whichever metric you might choose, which I think answers your question 🙂 » Read

Rate my dead team. No transfers unless long-term absences are expected for premium players or I start struggling to field an XI. Sanchez Shaw Digne Tierney Grealish Mahrez Foden Torres ESR Cavani Iheanacho Steele | Kane, Coufal, Ayling Planning to win the thing in GW38, tied on points with second place, but with fewer transfers made. » Read

Same goes for Pepe, Laca and Auba, but I wouldn't look at them in FPL to start the season, personally, unless you want a GW1 captain and you're confident of a start (Pepe most likely). » Read

  19. Son, Gray and Digne among eye-catching FPL assets in latest pre-season friendlies 3 days, 19 hours ago

After 5-10 weeks this season, I doubt many will be using last year's count of clean sheets in their thinking. They'll be looking at the eye test and underlying stats, perhaps mixing in last season's underlying stats. As for everything, the 'underlying' stats are more powerful. There's no need to limit ourselves to the small sample of number of clean sheets across 38 weeks when assessing how capable a team is and how likely they are to keep clean sheets in the next game or 10 games or over the season. I don't feel like writing an essay about why, though I wouldn't do it justice anyway 🙂 » Read
