I agree the goal was coming long before it went in. What I’m saying is that it shouldn’t have only been 1-0 at that point. Anyway, I agree that we’re not good enough to beat top teams regularly. Just think even with 3 defensive mids we won’t keep top teams out, so might as well play high tempo, attacking football, create chances and hope we score more than them. Not tactically masterful, I know but we’re not as good as them and our defence is worse than our attack, so personally I would prefer to play that way and take it on the chin when we get knocked out » Read

To me, we lost to Croatia because we didn’t go toe to toe with them. We got the goal and they could barely put two passes together, distinctly remember their mids playing it out of play twice in a row. But we didn’t go for the throat. We tried to play nice, calm conservative football, when we just needed to blitz them whilst they were down. They then grew In confidence and took over the game. We hammered them a few months later and beat Spain 3-2. Don’t think we’ll ever be good enough to go out there and have routine 1-0, 2-0 wins against the top sides. We have to ride our luck, take our chances, and if they are having a nervy 20 minutes, punish them hard enough so we have more than one goal to hang on to when they inevitable take over again » Read

This. Fines are a no go. You wouldn’t get away with it. But you can select who you want, you don’t have to explain that you haven’t picked them because you thought they were feigning an injury last time. Everybody will know, but nobody can prove that you just decided that x player was better for this squad so the only repercussions would be that you’re potentially making your squad worse. Up to the manager to decide whether it’s worth it or not. » Read

You don’t have to prove it. There won’t be a trial. You just have to be big enough to withstand the backlash if it goes wrong. » Read

Would probably keep Sterling and captain. Then bring in Salah next week if he's fit, if not then Pulisic and either Maddison or Martial. » Read

Vardy is needed due to the amount of people who will be captaining him. Jimenez is steady but nobody will captain and he rarely scores double figures so it won't hurt you not having him. » Read

Tough one as I like both striker options and I'm not a fan of either mids (never see Dilva as a long term option personally) but I think you need Vardy to protect yourself from his hauls, as so many people will captain him most weeks for the next month or so. » Read

I guess. It's just I saw people mentioning rotation in double gameweeks, but surely it's the same thing. It might not be a double gameweek in FPL terms, but there's still the same amount of days between 1 premier league game and the next as there will be in the double gameweeks later in the season. Anyway, just a thought. I'll be saving mine because I'm boring like that and always use the same chip strategy. » Read

People thinking about bench boosting gwk15, aren't you worried about it taking place midweek? Means there's just as much chance of rotation as there is during double gameweeks (same time between games), only if your player is rotated that's, that. There's no second game to pick up points.I definitely see the argument in using it in a single gameweek rather than saving it for a double and then riding out the end of the reason with lots of money on the bench, just think a midweek gameweek is a little risky. » Read

  15. How FPL assets fared in Thursday's internationals as Kane hits a hat-trick 5 days, 1 hour ago

Mount. Can’t see more than 1 attacking return from him, would imagine his ceiling to be around 7-8 against City so it’s no big deal if Lundstram blanks. 2 points from Mount and 10+ from Lundstram on your bench will be worse » Read

Each to their own, different strategies are what makes the game fun. I just remember people benching Digne and Anderson when they scored braces last year and Jimenez when he scored a goal and assist because their squads were too good. Can see the same happening this year with the likes of Tomori, Lundstram and Soyuncu being benched. And then the week that the bench does come into play, you need a big score from players you’ve predicted to do less well than the ones you’ve started, because even if they score 5-6 points and everyone else gets 0-1, their more expensive starting 11 will make up for it in other weeks. Just my thoughts. I still intend on at least 2 playing subs but won’t prioritise them. » Read

My advice is to not get too hung up on having a good bench. Rotation will happen but your players will come on for the last 20 minutes and your subs will be useless anyway. Not saying don’t have a bench, but don’t prioritise bringing in bench players whilst ignoring changes that need to be made in the starting 11 and don’t take hits to improve your bench » Read
