  1. Why I'm lining up for FPL Gameweek 3 without any Chelsea players 2 days, 6 hours ago

Costa struggles to play games at all at this stage He’s 30 now, last season was terrible, managed only 7 starts & less than 800 minutes in Serie A Season before was even worse with only 600 minutes - Season before that was his best, but he still only made 18 starts & was used from the bench a lot Wonder whether Nuno would want a more physically robust type for his style of play » Read

It's a bit mad when you sort the league table by GW14 - 38 form - they're even higher post restart (third!) https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/premier-league/formtabelle/wettbewerb/GB1?saison_id=2019&min=14&max=38 They'll surely give him benefit of the doubt - probably deserved after driving a team that are basically a Danny Ings injury away from relegation fodder into such a strong 25-game stretch of results Maybe the 5-2 was this season's 9-0 & they have their come to jesus session & come back stronger a few games down the road But if we're 10 games in & they're sitting on 2 or 3 points then yeah things start to look untenable or that something's maybe broken behind the scenes/in dressing room etc » Read

Southampton are actually fourth (!) in the league table on points from GW14 to GW38 last season with only Liverpool, City & Man Utd getting more points over those 25 games (they got 44 - more points than Spurs, Wolves, Chelsea, Arsenal, Everton, Leicester during that spell for example) Would probably be odd if they sacked Ralph after two or three (or four or five) bad results & bad performances » Read

A 7.5 asset with 48 returns in 50 appearances since returning from injury in GW26 2018/19 (21 CS, 23A, 4G) just doesn’t spring to mind as a port of call to eek out an extra few bob Nothing to guarantee it can’t work of course, and nothing to guarantee he’ll get 48 in his next 50... but Robbo starting to share more set pieces of late wouldn’t be enough to drive me there personally » Read

Yep - Plus they sign Semedo/Dest then that potentially frees Traore up for a forward role though which is an extra body & one of Neto/Podence/Traore gets benched every week Plus all those other multiple random FM-Regen types they seem to have padded their attack out with - Vitor Ferreira (20), Fabio Silva (18), Leo Bonatini (lol), Leonardo Campana (20) - I don't really know who a lot of these people are, but there's a lot of bodies there But Podence definitely has always looked very handy in the 4 or 5 games I've seen him play & Nuno obviously headhunted him for his system too » Read

Interestingly - he has started a total of 7 games for Wolves (5x PL, 2x EL) He's managed to accumulate 1G 5A in those 7 starts And to be honest every time i've watched him (maybe 4 or 5 of those 7 starts) he's always stood out as a little pain the arse attacker/nightmare to play against with the pace, strength & low centre of gravity Can easily envisage a world where he starts next season as a 7.5 (or more) - 5.5 looks wrong from where we're currently sitting » Read

  14. Injury updates on Lamptey and Saint-Maximin after Albion's FPL assets impress 6 days, 19 hours ago

He was always very streaky in the bundy - and to be honest I can see why - some teams will get lucky & either catch him offside or he'll fluff his lines - but then every once in a while he'll just get in the zone & go loco As I was saying below - Last season he seemed to go on these massive all-or-nothing boom/bust cycles with very little middle ground E.g. GW4-9 last season 1 goal & 5 blanks in 6 fixtures Swiftly followed by 20 returns in his next 9 games (14G 6A) Then 7 blanks in he next 8 games etc etc He really needs to find his "Mainz" (6G 3A vs Mainz in 2 games last year) Wouldn't be suprised to see West Brom maybe fulfill that role & him tear them a new arzehole in the process - he's been like a little dangerous wasp on the eye test so far - zipping about trying to sting people, he just hasn't connected yet but if/when he does i'd say it'll be painful https://www.fantasyfootballscout.co.uk/2020/09/06/how-does-kai-havertz-compare-with-chelseas-other-fpl-attacking-asse… » Read

His record when Batshuyai was last there was top drawer (as was Palace's attacking record) Should prosper with a proper forward to play off - and if he doesn't - 7.0 doesn't break the bank either » Read
