  1. Blank Gameweek 27 captaincy a tough decision for Fantasy managers 3 hours, 5 mins ago

TC is a difficult chip to get right, even Kun who got a hattrick ended up with 19 points total - not a huge gap to hitting a decent TC in a single GWAnd using it in a DGW doesn't guarantee success... Sane TC failed miserably in the DGW, Sterling TC wasn't great vs. a single GW either (11 points). I hope no one did Richarlison or Siggy, but there were probably some that didIf Salah is fit at that stage, GW36 looks a good bet for TC to me - if Liverpool are still within 3 points of city at that stage they will need both points and goals and goal difference... and coming the other direction, Huddersfield should already be relegated & are one of the worst teams to ever play in the PL - they are so out of their depth at this level it's scary (failing to win 24 of their 26 games to date) » Read

For most, BGW31 should be pretty straightforward to navigate without using a chipFH to get 11x DGW’ers in GW32 appeals to me much more than FH in GW31 to get (something like):Heaton Periera, Robbo, Lascelles Mane, Salah, Fraser, Felipe Arni, Wilson, RondonWhen you can get (something like):Dubravka/Schmeicel/Fab Robbo, TAA, Rice, Tark, Chilwell Salah, Fraser/Brooks Arnie, Wilson/KingFor free between now & then with a FH in GW32, those same players (bar West Ham for now) having guaranteed fixtures in BGW33, followed by WC34 to setup BBDGW35 & TC Mo home to Huddersfield GW36.The players from the shopping list below enable this and are pretty cheap with good fixtures - I.e rotateble and benchable in the run up to BGW31Rice, Felipe, Arnie Periera, Chilwell, Evans Lascelles, Schar, Yedlin Brooks, Fraser, Wilson, King » Read

Yeah it has been very fortuitous that the players that most people are targeting becuase of their current good fixture runsPeople would be buying Leicester & Newcastle at the minute with their fixtures anyways, same with Bournemouth from GW30It's almost TOO much of a coincidence that the teams that play in BGW31, have great fixs in the run up to it as well » Read

I think a newcastle defender, and a couple of bournemouth attackers is fine for that fixture - if the attackers blank, chances are you've got a CS, and if you don't get the CS, chances are your attackers have got returns... safe in the knowledge you have a bumper GW32 to come straight afterwardsDefinitely not a scenario I'd be using my FH on » Read

I wouldn't think twice about losing Doherty or Jiminez from GW30 onwards - Wolves have a very tough GW30-34Also - you will presumably be Wildcarding in GW34 to set up the Bench Boost for DGW35, and TC captain Mo home to Huddersfield in GW36 is as good as any DGW if a third DGW doesn't arise.Likewise with the City assets - you can still have those players in GW32 with your FH, and get them back in again on GW34 WC - but they'll be playing a game every 3 days at that stage so don't be suprised to see rotation increase at City » Read

To be fair, 3 liverpool players should be almost a must anyway (VVD, Robbo, TAA, Salah, Mane etc) then check the fixture ticker for these teams:West Ham (Fab, Rice, Felipe, Arnie) Newcastle (Dubravka, Lascelles, Schar, Yedlin etc) Bournemouth (Boruc, Clyne, Brooks, Fraser, Wilson, King) Leicester (Schmeicel, Chilwell, Perieira, Evans, Maddison, Vardy)They all have excellent fixtures from now on - and are dirt cheap - Bournemouth have a tough 28 & 29 but from 30 onwards are goldenSo the teams that people will lean on in GW31 should already be part of most folks plans, it's actually worked out extremely well for not having to use a chip in BGW31 » Read

FH31 could of course work - but as i said, i think you need to be a lot more surgical & accurate to have it pay off vs. a FH32On the one hand is 1 or 2, maybe 3 extra players in GW31.... on the other hand is up to 11 extra players in DGW32In the same way that DGW'ers don't always play twice, single GW'ers don't always play once - and single GW'ers that play once don't always score points - history has taught us that also.FH32 is an absolute no brainer for me - I actually think using a chip that powerful in GW31 is a terrible waste but it's all team dependent » Read

As I posted before on this topic - would you not prefer 11x double gameweekers by using in GW32?It's all team dependent obviously, but the chance to literally have an entire team of no strings attached, hand picked players with double fixtures, whilst not being anywhere near a guarantee of points, is still surely too good to turn down? The way i see it:- FH in any GW outside of GW32 is like a sniper rifle - if you get it right, it could be deadly, but will require a lot of accuracy - FH in GW32 is like a shotgun at close range - utter devastation and not (as much) accuracy neededEspecially when there are 8 teams with guaranteed GW31 fixtures - how can you have a team with zero from Liverpool, West Ham, Leicester, Bournemouth or Newcastle for example?By GW31 most will have 3 liverpool, 1 West Ham, 1 Newcastle, 1 Leicester, 1 Bournemouth - so minimum 7 outfield starters + a GK is 8... its not going to be difficult at all to get a reasonable amount of playersAnd that's assum… » Read

  16. FPL Blank Gameweek 27 - an analysis of the key underlying stats 3 days, 9 hours ago

Southampton are definitely better under new mgmt vs old, but Arsenal have a suprisingly proficient home attack - only city & Liverpool have scored more home goals and with Mo away to Utd I think Auba shades the GW27 captaincy & conceding 2 away to Cardiff last time out was a hammer blow to themLaca’s sending off may yet impact things though if Auba gets 90 in the league cup, so need to monitor that also » Read

This will be their fifth away game, failing to keep clean sheets away to Huddersfield, Burnley, Leicester under Ralph. They also conceded 2 goals at home to arsenal in his first gameAuba’s next 2 games involve a statistically excellent attack against statistically poor defences, so statistically should be profitable - but no guarantees of course » Read

  18. FPL Blank Gameweek 27 - an analysis of the key underlying stats 3 days, 10 hours ago

Arsenal are the top scoring attack in the league (after city/pool/spurs) and really need Auba for their cutting edge - without him starting they couldn’t even score against that rabble last nightHe has the captaincy fixture in GW27 (only Cardiff, Huddersfield, Burnley, Fulham have conceded more away than Southampton) and a statistically fantastic fixture in GW28 (Bourenmouth have the worst away defence in the league bar Fulham and have conceded more goals away from home than even Huddersfield)We need to see Man City’s lineups (and performances) vs Schalke & Chelsea before jumping to conclusions on the West Ham game. 3 days after a cup final/champions league double header is not nice timing at all, but whoever is rested for LC Final should stand a better chance of starting v West Ham 3 days later » Read
