  1. Aubameyang benefits in Lacazette's absence as Watford assets impress 17 hours, 42 mins ago

Terrible GW, 31 points, fortunately still have 2 to play, but still... Good news, 2 FTs it I want to change anything But, strangely, I'm struggling to decide where to make 1, never mind both: Pope (Button) TAA, Digne, AWB (Lundstram, Hanley) Sterling, KDB, Maddison, Grealish (Cantwell) Aguero, Haller, Pukki City assets going nowhere before a possible "backlash" beating of Watford (won't be easy if Watford play like yesterday though). And the rest of my front 7 are staying put too (not bringing a Chelsea player in before they play Liverpool). That leaves AWB as the man to go. Tempted to bring in Boly, even though they just got hammered - hoping for a bounce-back vs Palace. Am I crazy? » Read

I've gone for Sterling instead because I think he'll score more points this week (captained Aguero last week thankfully), but preparing to be wrong! » Read

Strange comparison, given that Lundstram has always been a midfielder, and Heaton is very much not a striker! Lundstram has better xFPL (expected FPL points) than Salah so far, wouldn't be so quick to dismiss him » Read

  6. Sterling impresses as international break comes to a close 5 days, 9 hours ago

True, with Ota's aggressive/reckless style of defending, he's probably more suited to playing on the flank of a 3 than in a 2 » Read

Yeah, I think Pep will try this at some point, hopefully not against Norwich though! Also possible for Pep to play this formation with Sterling partnering either Aguero or Jesus up top » Read

I'm considering the probably unpopular move of bringing Kolasinac in for AWB. It would be a short-term move, because Tierney is likely to be back in a few weeks, and I'd like to bring in Otamendi if/when I move from treble to double City attack. Why Kola? Okay, Arsenal's defence doesn't look great, but they've conceded 1 goal in 2 games against non-Top 6 opposition so far, which isn't actually bad at all, and they only play Man Utd from the Top 6 for the next 10ish GWs (Watford away and Villa at home next both look potentially cleanable to me). But the big reason is Kola's attacking potential - 7 assists last season, and am xA/90 of 0.32 last season, higher than TAA's 0.26; those are very promising numbers, and I'm very tempted to take the punt! » Read

  10. FPL Question Time – Consult our panel ahead of Gameweek 5 6 days, 9 hours ago

See, I actually think KDB would be better suited to playing on the left than any of the players you mentioned. Left-footed on the left wing isn't a good thing when you play with inside forwards. If you play as an out-and-out winger, like Sane, great, but that isn't Bilva or Mahrez's game. De Bruyne's vision, crossing and dynamism would make him a really interesting fit on the left in City's system - not saying it will happen, don't think it will, but I'd be more confident (if I were a City fan) than with Mahrez or Bilva playing on the left » Read

But they still want to win every game, and having someone playing in a very unnatural position is unideal in all but the easiest games, even for Man City » Read

  12. FPL Question Time – Consult our panel ahead of Gameweek 5 6 days, 10 hours ago

Something I've not seen much discussed - if (when) Sterling is rotated, who comes in for him? I'm very doubtful Pep will want to play Mahrez or Bilva on the left wing - both players are much better suited to cutting in on their left foot than playing on the left flank. Mahrez could also play behind a striker, or Bilva as a CM, but left wing? Not convinced. I think Jesus would be better suited to playing on the left in City's system, but how often has he done that? Apart from him, Mahrez and Bilva, I'm struggling to think of anyone else who he'd try in that role. I could see Pep playing 352 with Aguero and Jesus up top, occasionally (think this was tried early in 18/19 a couple of times?), but with Laporte's injury, how often will he be comfortable starting 3 CBs? Basically, I think Sterling might be the most nailed outfield player in the squad - is that naive? » Read

I prefer Haller to Abraham so stick with that move, think your team looks really good - benching Mount seems a bit risky, though I could see good returns for both Dunk and Lundstram... Having these dilemmas points to a strong team imo! » Read
