Tuesday’s Matchday Surgery

It’s breathless stuff this Christmas fixture list. The games keep coming thick and fast and it’s getting difficult to clear the head of the all the variables and avoid making a Fantasy faux pas or two.

Rest and rotation are the big concern now, plus of course those little knocks and niggles that go unreported until the teamsheets arrive. A strong bench comes in handy and some last minute advice on how to juggle resources never goes amiss. We’ve opened our Matchday Surgery chatroom so you can soak some up in real-time prior to that 11.30 deadline.

The room will close just after 12pm with Dugout Discussion on the first 3pm kick-off to follow.

          Don't act so bloody sanctimonious, as if it was likely he'd drop his captain and best player, and only left footed LB that he trusts. That pair have to be two of the most nailed on in the City 11, so people have every right to be shocked and agrieved.

            I'm hoping for a Balotelli hatrick now, best I can hope for with Tevez staying firmly on that bench. It is so going to be a 2pt captaincy.

            I'm loving all of these people saying Tevez was bound to be rotated now that he actually has been, its so easy to say that now - I bet the majority of these people have VDV though (maybe even captaining him) therefore contradicting themselves in the process.

              Meaning if anyone was to be rotated it would be VDV just coming back from the injury and listening to Redknapp's quotes.

              Having said that, redknapp always pipes on about resting players and never actually does.

            Top world class players get rested all the time. A week never goes past without some shock in a lineup.

            They can not expect to rely on Tevez every fúcking game can they??? They need to ask one of their 'squad' to chip in with some performances and goals.

                I don't know everything. I just can't understand why everyone is so shocked he's been rested in a season where City will have to play a shed load of games in the tin pot europa league.

                Like I say, Mancini needs to keep his squad happy, and taking into account Tevez's hissy fit the other week I think that this is probably a nice little message to him.

    Look at it this way lads, Tevez may have to come on after a minute, just keep your hopes up. But then again he probably won't and will come on later in the game to hold up play and get booked for time wasting, twice. Leaving him with -2 and -4 if you captained him.

    Kolarov not even in the squad, ffs. City will keep a clean sheet today now, continuing the trend of Kolarov being banned/sent off/rested for every feckin City CS for weeks! So so annoying.

    Captain tevez to inevitably come on for one point too..

        I had started Kolarov, Konchesky and Coleman, subs are Barton, Salcido and Jara. WB never keep cleanies so I put Salcido ahead of Jara. Doesn't really matter now though. Ugh.

      Do you have your reserve captain set to value or form? If value then the most valuable player in your team, if form then the best form player (click on data view on your team too see this)

        It's my first season! Understanding football and how game mechanics work are two different things.

        I've been interested in football since I was young, my knowledge isn't too bad. This is my first time playing this game so my knowledge isn't good. God almighty nothing like being crucified for a bit of ignorance.

          I think the general feeling is you asked so people would click on your link and be wowed by your score/rank.

            I just wanted to know when to rejoice or lament goals being scored or conceded, I thought someone would be able to tell me my vc much easier than my confused working out.

            In future I'll make sure just to wait until the change happens itself, I've just seen less intelligent questions put forward without any negative response.

    It's amazing how many people with the ability of being able to see the team sheet have said how obvious it was that Tevez etc were going to be rested, yet I don't think I ever saw it mentioned once. I did see people mentioning Vdv being rested, and he's playing! Either way I don't mind Barton and Jara coming off my Bench for Kolorov and Tevez..
