The Scout Head to Head Leagues 2011/12 – Draw Results

When Fantasy Premier League (FPL) opened its doors a couple of weeks ago, we weren’t far behind. Fantasy Football Scout got the ball rolling on our Head to Head leagues for the 2011/12 season by creating another two more and asked you all to stick your names in the hat for entry.

You kindly responded in your droves and after many man hours of wading through the entries, and a glamorous draw which took place on Saturday morning, we have had over 60 new leagues places to hand out to the lucky few recipients of our draw. The results (click to enlarge) and final figures on the nine Head to Head leagues (new entries highlighted) are as follows…

As you can see from the graphic above, there was at least one extra place in all of our leagues – be it from people dropping out or not claiming their spot in time. Firstly, if you see your name highlighted in that peach melba colour then you should have already received an email response to that which you entered with your respective league codes – if not, then whizz me over an email and I’ll sort things out for you.

Impressive Tackle and Back on the horse are the healthiest recipients who have jumped all the way up to FFS H2H 1 thanks to having the superior ranking of all our draw winners – Impressive Tackle finished a mind-bending 14th in the world last year.

Gooner Dave wasn’t far behind so takes up the single space left in FFS H2H 2. Four new managers get to take on Fantasy Football Scout head honcho Mark in FFS H2H 3 – Have they got what it takes to beat “The Scout”? I’m sure they’ll relish the challenge.

LawnDart jumps right into FFS H2H 4 on his own while FFS H2H 5 sees three new managers get to compete with Fantasy Football Scout super scribe Sir Paulos, podcast jockey Granville and differential destroyer (and my main rival) Big Dunc – without doubt the most Scout heavy Head to Head league.

Our Stateside Scout Da Beeeez is joined by three new faces in FFS H2H 6 with guiness416, Heisenberg and pompeyfan getting a jump up into our league structure.

FFS H2H 7 was our bottom league last season so sees a fair few new faces join its ranks thanks to a whole load of relegations – our comment-board regulars will perhaps recognise the likes of Johnny Unitas, Horizontal and RaspingDrive in amongst the qualifiers.

Scout business brain El Fozzie is heading up FFS H2H 8 (the first of two new leagues which has nineteen new faces) – Greeny was the best ranked manager of this bunch at a very respectable 17,284th place last season.

Certainly, 17,284th is more than I could have ever hoped for, which perhaps explains why I am heading up FFS H2H 9 – or what I am now dubbing “The Underachievers”. You will notice plenty of recognisable faces from long time caller Pasqualinho to King Nil Miss with a certain Westfield Irons inbetween. The Irons are the team managed by none other than Jon Reeson, winner of the whole 2009/10 FPL campaign and Marks’ Radio companion. Last season saw Jon struggle to keep up appearances following his banner year but is back ahead of the 2011/12 season and will undoubtedly have 19 Head to Head rivals eager for the victory scalp of an ex-FPL champion.

For those of you needing a reminder of how our promotion/relegation works then have a gander at the following graphic and work out just where you need to finish to survive and/or prosper.

This, of course, indicates that we know we need to cater for many more than just the 180 managers in our Head to Head leagues above. So without further ado we also christen the opening of the Fantasy Football Scout Reserve League (code: 759-148560).

If you were unfortunate enough to not have your name pulled out of the hat in the draw/got relegated/left it too late to claim your place then the Reserve League is open to anyone wanting to enter. Your league code (759-148560) should allow you the chance for 38 Fantasy Football Scout endorsed Head to Head fixtures and the shot at promotion into the aforementioned structure – just make sure your team finishes in the top 45 places and then keep your eyes peeled the following summer if you do.

Stick around for sporadic League updates through the season whenever we can squeeze them in, I’ll hopefully have a short graphic based one up in the early September international break and our first comprehensive movers and shakers report in the following October break.

Congratulations to our 60+ draw winners. Get joining our Reserve League if you’re not in on the action. I’m going for a stiff Ribena, am glad all that work is almost over until next summer. Good luck. Except to those in League Nine- I need all the help I can get in that one.

This Sneijder talk is very exciting, even if it turns out to be a load of BS from the mirror.

I've recently changed my mind in the Rooney - RVP dilemma. I'm siding with Rooney now because of a few reasons.

      1. Arsenal's formation is set to change with Gervinho, and RVP might need time to adjust.

      2. Hernandez is injured which means Rooney plays further forward and will likely score well. I can see him scoring a few against West Brom opening day, and the best thing is, I can change to get both if need be with a minor team tweak.

          Have to wait on Sneijder.

Sneijder - RVP is obviously ideal. There's still time to decide.

If he comes, plays in the community shield and looks good, it'll be a no-brainer for me.

I must say Rooney and RVP together is really tempting. Still believe RVP is a must have while Rooney is still only a very good option.

Might be tempted to upgrade Aguero to Rooney if I can find somewhere to downgrade.

Ideally though Sneijder RVP if he does join.

Not getting two of the best players for the sake of one GW? Changing all your plans for the sake of two players in that one week? I'd rather not.

For all we know they will both score and then having both of them will see you laughing.

It's not like it's gameweek 13 is it, it's GW3! And their fixtures in GW1 and GW2 are hardly blinders! Why not start with one and then bring the other in after GW3?

Anyone the more people that make this mistake the better so continue on your merry way.

But I don't want to be planning transfers so soon into the season. I'd rather start with a team I'd happily keep.

These are players who are fixture proof, I always say play the players above the fixtures. Another way to look at it, is if you have both you are almost ertain to have at least one of them scoring points for you.

Anyway, it's only an idea at the moment, I only have RVP atm.

Rvp isn't nearly as "fixture proof" as people claim. He rarely delivers against the top sides compared with rooney & drogba.
Anyway a good player vs weak teams obviously has a good chance to outscore a good player vs strong teams.
Even more important to play the fixtures at the start imo as we have no form to go off.

But if Arsenal do turn up in any respect for the big games, you can bet he'll be invloved in some capacity.

From my perspective, RVP or Rooney is more likely to outscore most other players in most fixtures, they're player you want in your team.

It's important to play the fixtures for mid to low teams, but we know for a fact that Rooney and RVP are class and will perform, backed up by the fact both have scored pre-season.

For example we're all choosing Villa players for the fixtures because we don't know which mid table team players have form, so we go for them becauser they have the fixtures.

However for the big players, I personally would rather choose which ones I see as the better long term prospects, especially as I'm probably going to have to use up transfers to correct the mid table mistakes I've made.

It's all well and good to plan Rooney in GW3, but I may not have the money as I've spent it dumping the failed bandwagons, or I may have other priorities that have to be adressed.

would be a fantasy dream and a supporter's dream if wes comes to united. if that goes, then i hope chelsea sign modric and i'd upgrade malouda to wes and downgrade silva to modric and then swap rooney for rvp, 3 teams covered there, then bring in suarez/bent for other striker.

Each pre-season match he has looked sharper and sharper, fitter too but thats to be expected, I think that Drogba will start against Stoke, Torres will start against West Brom and they'll both start against Norwich, I also think that neither will stay out of the team long, regardless of the form of the other, its about whether Torres hits the ground running and finds form, I dont think he's lacking confidence, but if he scores against Rangers I'll have him in my team and if he scores against Stoke he'll stay there.

Just seen that Arsenal might miss out on Mata as his buyout clause has expired... they're such fannies.

Should have sold Fabregas at the start of the transfer window, offered Nasri an extension on improved terms, still bought Gervinho, snapped up Mata on the cheap, splashed out on Jagielka, and now they could pick up Barton on a free.

Oh, and how on earth did they let Given go to Villa for 3.5m? They could have paid twice that, had a solid keeper for the next five years, done all of the above business and they'd probably just about have broken even.

I'm really starting to see why some fans are getting so fed up with Wenger. They really are 2 or 3 good transfer windows away from seriously challenging for the Premier League and Europe, but each one always comes and passes them by without much success.

Me too. I mean look at ManU, jones, no fuss 18 mil bang, done, young, no messing, 15 mil, done. All been training for weeks together ready for the season.
Then in comes Wenger with a low ball offer for Jags, because he probably doesn't really want him

I don't know whats going on Jonny, it's become a joke. If we miss out on him, i won't be happy. Everyone else has strengthened heavily and we still have the same weaknesses. However, im not keen on Jagielka. 15m+ for a defender with a knee problem. Im also happy we didn't get given becasue i rate Szcezney.

Fair enough on Jagielka, my point was more that Arsene obviously wants him, Fabregas is obviously going, so why didn't he just get as much as he could, as soon as he could, and splash the cash. It's a side of Wenger I just don't get.

I actually think Szcezney is a decent prospect too, but he's only young- if you'd bought Given he could have been first choice for the next 5 years, Szceney could have gone out on loan to West Brom or one of the promoted sides or something, and by the time Given retires you've got a quality 26 year old to take his place.

On the positive side, at least you're not a Leeds fan. Our transfer policy seems to be sell everyone good and sign the crap other Championship sides don't want.

The Mirror reckons the Sneijder deal is done as long as he takes a paycut. Not to outrage any Man U fans but Inter is hardly a small club, why would he want to swap Milan for Manchester and earn less money? (and I live in Manchester before that gets anyone going)

The best situation was if Tevez turned around and pledged his future to Man City because a front three of Rooney RVP and Tevez would be even more amazing as I could trust them all to do well, Aguero hasn't built up that trust yet!

Tough to compare different teams, different manager's tactics, and different leagues.

He is a quality player but surely it would be him playing in behind Rooney and Hernandez which wouldnt suggest he'd get forward too much. Plus heavy competiton for bonus points.

Anyway is he not an attacking midfielder playing in behind Eto for Inter and yet he has such a low goal tally ?

Think ? Ino his first two fixtures aren't great but after that he has a great set of fixtures. I may ditch barton depending on where he goes , and i may downgrade toure to another 6.0 or 6.5 mid and then upgrade my bench , not sure.

I dont think there are many midfielders worth the high price tbh , only vdv , but finding it hard to fit him in. Sure Adam done amazing last season and he started off at 5.0.

I don't like it really mate tbh. Zero attacking threat from your defence (maybe Collins i suppose), avearge midfield and i only really like RVP from your strikers.

I would rather have Brown or bramble so you can upgrade Simpson to Taylor.

Really don't like the Foster Ruddy rotation. Leaves you screwed sideways for GWs 1,7&9, plus Norwich will be leaky at the back.

I want to get Foster in, but struggling to find the best 4.0 rotation. De Vries looks quite good if he plays.

Upgrade Simpson to Taylor and O'Shea to Bramble?

Not keen on Albrighton, Pennant is a good shout, but fixtures and Europe may mean he's a better prospect later on.

I'll just play Foster, for the second half of last season I pretty much played him every week. Amount of saves he will make it won't matter too much.

A gutsy man plays a WBA keeper vs champions United GW1, Chelsea away GW2 and Sunderland away GW7. I respect your balls, but it's maybe worth at least looking for someone who costs the same, but offers at least some cover for those fixtures.

Hmm, RvP or Rooney GW1, for Chelski switch GW2? It's a toughie but I'm thinking Rooney in form and Mancs more reliable than Goons away.

Can't bring myself to go Aguero, Balotelli, despite nice Swans fixture.

1, 2 & 4. N'Zog is a keeper for the season bar injury, Taarabt is a play him and see gamble, Moses you play Gw1-3 then get rid. Not convinced Sinclair will pull up any trees, or even score any pens.
