The ScoutCast – Episode Seventy Six – Preparation D

Hitting the airwaves early this week, the ScoutCast makes a return to the fray with preparations for the double fixtures still using up our headspace. Mark and I rinse through the latest permutations of Gameweek 36, almost exhausted by the tactical nuances on offer. It’s almost too much for a Tuesday afternoon.

Of course, the podcast regulars rear their head and I do my upmost to keep my chin up despite the mini-league gap: Mark tries desperately not to gloat and fails as always. You never know – maybe all those eggs he’s put in the basket of Gameweek 36 are destined to be scrambled.

its tricky rooney never been great against everton but is at home, will prob score a penalty. bale could rip up QPR or get nothing.

yea i know but its more complicated then that, my rival just sold rooney for aguero and also has bale, so i was wondering if i should sell rooney as well but for tevez or would keeping rooney help me expand my 30pt lead

Ok just been thinking. RVP is out of form against a quality team. Tevez is in form against a shit team. No brainer? Oh and also gunna do walcott/valencia (to keep arsenal cover)- dempsey. thoughts would be appreciated.

    Krul Mignolet

    Vermaelen Enrique Simpson Evans Caulker

    Walcott Bale Valencia Sess Sigurdsson

    Rooney RVP Adebayor

"Injury-ridden Chelsea defense" The only difference in tonights defense and the defense against Arsenal will be Bosingwa in for Ivanovic, there will be no other rotation in the back 4. Torres will come in for Drogba and Sturridge will probably come in for Ramires, there may be one other change but that's it as far as i see it, Chelsea need a good result against Arsenal to try and get 4th spot...

But even at that i agree taking out RVP isn't a great move!

Eh Luiz out. Ivanovich ban. Bosingwa has nopace as we saw in the FA Cup when he was up against Bale. And surely Bertrand might come in for Cole who could be rested for the 2nd Champions League leg?

Luiz being out is a good thing for Chelsea if you ask me, and Cole won't be rested, He didnt play his last 2 PL league games against Wigan and Fulham and you think after 1 game back the man is going to be tired or need a "rest"?!

some would argue that this is just as big a game as the Barca game next week! ok not as big but they will have a very strong team out.

Having one of your best CBs out isn't good. Means you'll have to sub on an inexperienced sub if you want to take off Cahill, Terry or Cole early. That one inexperienced player on the pitch could cost you a goal or two, look at City when Kompany was out, Savic had to come in and that worked disastrously

Savic is a poor player though, Chelsea have Cahill to replace Luiz and i'd go as far as saying Luiz has lost his starting place to Cahill already, luiz is gone in the summer anyway..

oh, i assumed you had your wildcard don't know why. then i would take out rooney way before RVP. even though rooney's been scoring they've been pretty lucky goals to be honest, and you would probably want him out before the city match anyway ( i assume)

Id rather both but if push came to shove I'd sooner get rid of Rooney because he admits himself that he is off form and he has a bad scoring history aginst everton. Thats not to say this will be the game that changes those stats. So i'd rather have RVP against Chelsea, in fact I'm captaining him this week

im finding it extremely hard to pick my best 11.. subs are all so strong and really hard to call some of these games next week.

    so far team is

    Krul,
    Caulker, Evans, Richards
    Sigurdson, Valencia, Bale, McClean
    Aguero (c), Cisse, RVP

Subs : Vorm, Walcott Cahill, Vermaelen

any suggestions or is that team solid as is?

Is it worth taking a 4 point hit to bring in Aguero to match the guy chasing me?

30 point lead, currently have RVP, Cisse, Rooney up front. He's got Cisse, Aguero, Rooney
Not sure if it's worth getting another guy without the DGW

Why would Cole be rested? Enough with this crap already!

Cole Didn't play in his last 2 PL games against Wigan and Fulham, has played a couple of games since and people are convinced he will be rested because he has a game 4 days later? this is a big game for Chelsea, they need to get 4th place.

The only changes are Bos in for Ivan, Torres in for Drog, Sturridge in for Ramires probably and i'd say one of Essien, Malouda, Kalou in for Meriles/Mikel. Stop panicking!

    Bogdan*
    (BAE)*–Simpson*–Verm
    (Bale)* — Demps* — Siggy — McClean/Valencia?
    RVP — Ade* — Rooney

Subs: Mignolet – Valencia – Caulker – Evans

In: BAE, Bale Out: Lescott, Walcott

Also thinking Rooney to Cisse for a hit.

He scored 5 points, off of one assist, in a game where City scored six.

I'm not confident that Silva counts as 'City cover', offensively. Aggy/Tevez or nothing, imo.

Can't afford Tevez but of the two I would probably pick Aguero anyway. I'm guessing Aguero will be on penalties as he took one against Chelsea when Tevez was on pitch. All the one I suppose, both should do very well this weekend

Keep Walcott OR Bale OR both?

Then which of these looks best?

    A) Bale/Walcott + McClean + Sigs + Aguero
    B) Bale/Walcott + McClean + Dempsey + Jelavich
    C) Bale + Walcott + Sigs + Jelavich

    RVP, Rooney,
    Mingolet, Graham, Caulker, McCauley

1M in the bank, Plan so far is:

GW35: No transfer, or should i bring in Collins or Ireland, maybe bring in Barfa for Surman or Tevez in for Rooney?
    GW36: Walcott > Mata, Graham > Jelavic

That will mean another 4 point hit next week too...

I think I prefer Aguero (just) over Tevez so I'll likely be going with him if I do a). Issue with MCY is their fixtures are fairly tough (wol, MUN, new, QPR) whereas the likes of Ade has (qpr, BLA/bol, avl, FUL). I expect Ade to outscore both City strikers over those games.

I have visions of Newcastle hammering Stoke.
I did young out Ben Arfa in.
Also gives me 4.0m in bank to have the option of getting Lampard/Mata/Dempsey/Silva in if needs be for any other midfielder for the dgw.
I am also hoping that Wigan will have avoided relegation by the time they play Newcastle.helsea
So it will be an easier game for Newcastle, and I am hoping that Chelsea will be jaded by the time Newcastle play them.

    That's the theory anyway!

Only doubt now is Sessegnon/Walcott for the bench I already have RVP.

It is the Man united game that puts me off.
Also even if united draw with city you are stuck with man city players with nothing to play for.
My tactic is go for relegation threatened players or players who are fighting for CL.
      Preferably players who will start.

Fair reasoning, for me it simply came down to the opportunity cost.

Tevez is in fine form and will be against a team which has been leaking goals (and a replacement keeper).

Rooney has been scoring at home, but he himself said he wasn't at his best and most of his goals have been penalties. He has a poor record against Everton and I'm hoping Moyes has him figured out.
